Nyx’s POV
“Damn he’s smoking hot” I said to my best friend Rebecca.
“Wait, him?” Rebecca said while pointing at a nerd walking down the hallway.
“Gosh Rebecca no” I said as I gestured my head and eyes towards the direction of the new guy.
Rebecca pointed exactly at him and he looked towards our direction, I quickly hid behind an opened locker.
He noticed us and walked towards our direction, Rebecca quickly adjusted her hair and extended out her hand to shake him.
“I am not here for you darling” he said to Rebecca as he walked past her and to me.
“Hello gorgeous, I am Malakai,” he said while smirking.
“Hi kai, I am Nyx. It’s nice to meet you, I see you’re new here, how is it going so far?” I said as I stared at his veiny arms.
He told me about his experience in the school and I found him really outgoing and amazing. We exchanged contacts and texted each other all the time.
We began hanging out all the time after school, either at my place or his place. Very soon, he asked me to be his girlfriend with my favorite flowers and chocolate which was lowkey weird because I never told him what I fancied but I let that slide either way.
…3 weeks later at school..
I waved at Rebecca from across the hallway, she turned around and walked away without a response and it left me worried the whole day because I socialized with her the most but thank goodness, Kai was there to keep me company.
*I crossed paths with Rebecca in the hallway once more*
“Are you just going to ignore me all day Rebecca, at least just tell me what I did?” I said.
*Rebecca sighed*
“Well look Nyx, it is really starting to look like you replaced me already, with someone you literally just met” she said in disgust.
I got slightly defensive and said “You know I have a life outside you right?”
Rebecca looked at me in irritation and walked off.
I later told Kai about everything that happened and he consoled me and I felt better.
I soon noticed that Kai barely told me anything about himself. I invited him over for dinner in hopes of getting words out of him.
I was making dinner while Malakai told me about his childhood lores.
*ouch!* I exclaimed.
“What’s the matter, are you okay?” Malakai said in genuine concern.
“I just cut my self, can you hand me the bandages in the top right shelf?” I said.
Malakai grabbed the bandages and hesitated to help me.
“Hello Kai, I need some help hello” I said in confusion.
“Oh oh I'm sorry, I just zoned out a bit.” Malakai said.
He helped me dress the cut and I couldn’t help but notice the veins on his arm growing darker by the second.
I looked up to thank him but his pupils were dilated and blood shot red, I noticed he had fangs too.
I backed away in horror, it felt like a dream.
“What’s going on? your eyes” I said while my heart raced.
*Kai moved slowing towards me*
“Relax Nyx, I won’t hurt you, just let me explain to you” he said.
“Explain what? this does not even feel real anymore. What is actually going on?” I said in shock.
“No it can’t be, they aren’t real, vampires do not exist right?” I asked Kai.
*Malakai adjusts back to human form*
I stared in disbelief, I couldn’t believe my eyes but I kinda liked it. I was a fan of vampire fantasy but I also had it in mind that they were not real.
I caressed his face while admiring him, as I brushed my palm against his cheek, he held my hand and leaned in slowly, and kissed me.
That kiss felt so passionate, I fell in love all over again.
He pulled away as he stared into my eyes like he wanted more and asked “Do you want to know everything?”
“mmhm”, I nodded as I was still mesmerized by the kiss.
“I am a vampire, and also a werewolf. I am a hybrid but I have not triggered my werewolf gene, to trigger it you have to experience a heavy amount of emotion. Yes it is also in my nature to feed on blood ” he said.
He told me all the pros and cons of vampirism, he also told me to stay away from his best friend named Damien.
Malakai told me that Damien was a horrible person who killed people without remorse, that he also has this urge to feed on people and can not resist blood.
I was still so stunned. “So you feed on people and also kill them?” I asked.
“In all honesty, I used to but my best friend, Bianca taught
how to resist feeding on people about 250 years ago. That is how. was able to resist feeding on you” He said.
“Wait what? Bianca as in the coffee shop Bianca, I never knew she was a vampire” I said in shock.
*He laughs*
“Bianca is actually a 1200-year old vampire, an original to be precise. Her family created the vampire bloodline, I know you are wondering how one can create vampirism but I promise I will explain everything later, I have to go now” Malakai said.
“Oh it is totally fine, I’ll come over to yours later.” I said as I hugged him.
He leaned in to kiss me and then walked out the front door.
….3 days later…
I returned from school, wondering where Malakai had been. He had not been at school for three days and was not even returning my calls either.
I decided to go over to his house and see what he had been up to.

*knock, knock*
Footsteps slowly approached the door, and a very attractive boy opened the door.
