¶ELMER¶

It's been 132 days since my pack and family moved to Stockwood City, we were still trying to get used to living amongst humans and still learning human habits and general behaviour...

.

Just then an earthquake struck and we were asked to evacuate, we were sent to different locations after evacuation, my friends or packmate or family, any of the titles fit perfectly...

We were sent to an old creepy building on the outskirts of the city, I kinda liked the energy and aura Hovering around the building but humans around kept complaining that the building is creepy and haunted, my friends and I kept glancing at each other anytime we hear a complain. ... the building was named The Apartment and only the young people were allowed to stay there, the elderly people were sent to another location.

"Elmer, Tristan, Jaigo, Damien, Tristiana and Mey I ask you to be on your best behaviour, we can't be compromised, keep your wolves in check until this disaster is over. Jaigo, can you not threaten anyone at least for the next 20days, 20 days is not a long time and it will soon be over and we can go back to our normal lives"

my father said looking at our faces with pleading eyes, He didn’t have to plead, he could just command us to do what he wants, but he pleaded....my father never pleads, even the guys were shocked at my father's action and promised him to be on good behaviour throughout our stay in the apartment.

After they departed,

Jaigo said

"Elmer did the Alpha just avoid using compulsion on us because he fears humans will notice us"

All of us looked at each other, very stunned but we ignored it and went to get settled in our rooms.

My name is Elmer and I am the next Alpha of Aurora Pack, our pack was named after the Northern light of the Moon Goddess,

Our pack believe that her light illuminates from the North.

We are trying to gain dominion and authority over other Pack in our region, so my father the current Alpha decided that if we could learn human behaviour and understand the human character, we could that to our advantage to control another pack under us.

It was a very nice strategy but it was also a very risky strategy and I keep doubting if it is worth the sacrifice.

I had friends in some of those Pack and sometimes I wonder if they will still be my friends if they found out what plans my father had for their different Packs.

After moving to this town we enrolled on school and my mum went to work in a restaurant and some of the Elders that came with us took up minor jobs in places that had many people coming and going, so they could communicate and learn about humans' basic and not so basic needs.

The school was fun and quiet, I was usually a very quiet fellow so I seldom got into fights and dramas, thankfully my teams didn't like the kids in our school, so we just avoided all of them together.

The only thing that was interesting in Block Academy, was that Pine scent I smell anytime I step into the school. Block Academy is the name of our school and the teachers in the school were very nice but the student was mostly bullies who derived pleasure in making other students suffer.

It's so disgusting whenever I see the supposed Alpha male threaten and make the weaker humans do his bidding, sometimes I feel like interfering we couldn't because my father has told us not to interfere in any human fights and quarrels. He used the compulsion on us, if not there was no way I could ignore those empty vessels that claim they are so Alpha and show them who the real Alpha is.

It's not my territory but sometimes I feel threatened and challenged, I made a mental note that after this disaster issue is resolved I am going to talk to my father and convince him to lift the compulsion on us, so we can confront people that look for our trouble, I will do it, I will talk to him about it. I thought.

I was trying to connect my Bluetooth speaker so I could play a little music as I fixed the room and folded my clothes into the closet that was provided for us in the room, I wondered if other rooms had the same closet as mine in the...

I perceived a strangely familiar scent, I was still trying to figure out where I had perceived that scent but then I noticed a figure outside the window view I was looking at outside.

I went closer to my window to look closer who the person could be but the figure quickly disappeared out of my sight and I wondered why the figure felt so familiar and interesting to me.

I went back to folding my clothes and changing some settings in the room.....

I stepped out of the bathroom with my towel tied on my waist and stood at the window view again while trying to dry my hair, I was kind of hoping to get one more look at that figure I saw earlier, but it seemed like that figure had disappeared into thin air.

"Elmer let's go grab lunch and tour around the apartment," a female voice said over the mind-link with my team..it was Mey...

"Yes please am very hungry," another female voice added, that is Tristiana...

"Am hungry but for real meat," a male voice added...that is Jaigo.

"I am sick and tired of all these fried oil cheese meat that humans sell, how do they even eat something like that and they're supposed to be superior in intelligence," Damien added mockingly

"Excuse me but I love my fried chicken just the same way I love my raw crispy meat," Mey added causing the others to giggle...

"What do you think we should do? I asked waiting for the target person to answer...

"The Alpha said we should stay neutral and stay low, staying low means we have to enjoy what humans enjoy and also understand why humans like what they like."

"We cannot do anything about the Alpha's command, which is why we left the forest for this place in the first place, am tired of this place already and I miss home so much, we should hurry it up so we can return home soon," Tristan said sighing sadly.

Tristan is my Beta and Best friend, we have been friends forever and he has an overly sensitive personality which was both his strength and weakness.

But overall I wouldn't want anyone else to be my Beta apart from him, no one else understood me like him.

I laughed after what Tristan said, he sounded very funny talking all seriously, the others joined me and we just laughed on teasing him.

"When you animals are done laughing, you let me know so I add more spice to it," he said.

"Animals as in literal animals," Jaigo added innocently and Tristan burst into laughter and screamed, everyone could not hold It in, Jaigo was the energy of our team...

He knew how to make us laugh and sometimes cream our pants.

"Let's stay low guys," I will supervise around this location and scour for a good place to hunt. I told them.

"That's not your job Alpha, it's my job," Mey my head warrior said, Mey happened to be the first female head warrior in our pack since the last female head warrior died.. she was what the humans called a kick-ass female heroine, she had both the intelligence and the capacity and has led our pack to victories already at a young age.

"Okay then do your job," I told her...

"Ohh I already did my job, let's talk about it when having lunch," she said and went off the mind-link.

With that everyone went off, to prepare for lunch.

"Elmer open up let's go, someone said loudly and I looked up from where I was sitting dazed out, I took my coat and my wallet, phone and lip balm and opened the door, it was Tristan my Beta...

He punched me when I opened the door, I growled at him and he put him up to his two hands as an act of respect and surrender.

I smirked at him and kept walking forward, him following behind me, my team was already prepared and standing by their door, as I walked past, one by one they joined the line like soldiers on a parade.

One thing I considered important when I and Tristan were picking my leadership team was good fashion sense, I am all about class and fashion, I love fashion a lot and I love it when people dress up and turn even an apartment into a runway and turn all eyes on them.

I especially love when the common human females squealed over me, their cries of pleasure and excitement whenever they see me or my team walk was music to my ears and food to my soul.

I felt immersed in pleasure whenever I hear them scream and I can perceive their scents from within, it flows and takes over every other scent, but only werewolves like us could perceive that pleasurable scents.

Jaigo says I am a pervert for that, but who isn't isn't a pervert, I do not like women but I love their scent especially if they are aroused.

As we walked out of the building, so we could head to the canteen provided for food, we walk down the apartment building and realised there is an active running mall, great because I needed groceries I thought as we walked past the mall, but something happened.

Tristiana stopped when a familiar figure walked past us, this figure was a male, he wore all black outfits, he had a black hood on, he matched it with a black face cap, it was as if he was hiding from the world and he smelled like pines.....pines, that's the scent I keep perceiving every time, so it belonged to him I thought. I wondered what he looked like behind those clothes and why does he hide like that, and who was he that I kept perceiving his scent.

"What is it, Tris? Tristan asked his twin sister why she stopped,

"It's nothing but there is something about the boy that just walk past us right now," she said then turned to look at me.

"Did you feel anything when he walked past? she asked me curiously...

Everyone's attention was now focused on me,

I didn’t know what to say I did not understand if I felt something but I told her I have been perceiving the Pine Scent on him for a long time, but then Jaigo asked how come he didn't perceive the Pine Scent on him too, and the others agreed with him.

"What do you mean you can't perceive Pine on him, it's the same scent that you will perceive at the entrance of our school," I said in defence.

"I have never perceived any scent at school apart from the stench of fear from those fuckin bullies," Jaigo added...

I turned my attention to Tristiana and asked her what is going on?

Tristiana is the most gifted among my team members, she is touched by the light of the Moon Goddess, she was born on the night of the full moon, where wolves fest and operate freely.

Legend says that a child that is born on a night of a Full Moon to a Pack is born with the secret and mysteries of The Pack and that child must be protected by all means because he or she could be used against the Pack and the Reigning Alpha if caught by the wrong group of people.

Tristiana is the first to be born in our Pack, the difference between him and her twin brother is that Tristan was born a few minutes just before the full moon appeared, but Tristiana was born at the exact moment the full moon appeared.

"What is it Tris, Tristan asked her, what is it about the boy is he a danger to us, we can take care of him early.'

"He is both a danger and a strength, but he will only be a danger if he isn't taken care of and probably continue living in that fearful life he is living right now."

"If he dies or he is harmed...Elmer might be in danger too, so protect him by all means."

Tristiana finished and kept on walking...

I turned back and looked in the direction he went off, but he wasn't even there again and I just stared Into space.

I walked down to Tristiana and asked her how I was supposed to keep him safe when I didn’t even know him, but she smiled and told me to watch him from afar.

"Protect and keep him safe from afar Alpha, it's not yet time for both of you."

She said smiling and leaving me in utter confusion.
