Jasmine’s Pov
“By the end of my eighteenth birthday I had learned three things, my parents used to be involved in an underground organization, my father was a murderer and some Mafia Boss named Sebastian Cinclair wanted me.I just didn’t know why.”
A few hours before, we had just been cutting cake and blowing out candles. Now I was faced with the biggest threat of my life?
I didn’t bother knocking.
I stormed into my parents room demanding answers.
“ When did you intend on telling me that I am the daughter of a murderer?”
“Jasmine..”
My father said, looking speechless, just like that I had my answer.
The silence stretched painfully through the room.
I stared at them looking for an expression I could turn into words, my mother said a name I had never heard before.
Sebastian Cinclair.
Judging by the fear in their eyes, the mention of his name was supposed to do something to me.
It didn’t.
“ Sit down sweetheart”.
I slowly sat down beside her trembling in shock.
My mother spoke in a tone I had never heard her use.
There I found out the truth.
Suddenly memories of my childhood rushed through my mind, the constant moving, the security cameras all over the house, the new schools.
That was why.
Before I could process what I had just walked in on,
My mother revealed that Sebastian had communicated to them that I was to appear at an auction the following day as a way of settling the debt.
For a moment I was completely speechless.
What shocked me even more was the fact that my parents actually wanted me to go.
“There is no way on earth I am negotiating with that demon of a man!”
“ Honey, do you think we would hide a secret only to reveal it on your 18th birthday if we had another option?”.
“We’re trapped and this is the only way to get out of this mess”.
My mother’s face softened, I stared at her and saw the look of hopelessness on her face.
Then I knew what I had to do.
I had to meet with the devil himself.
That night I couldn’t sleep.
I just lay in my room, deep in thought.
Throwing myself into the hands of the most ruthless men in the entire city of Monte Carlo was definitely not on my wishlist, but I guess it had to be done.
“What could he possibly want with me?”
“What would become of me after this?”
Multiple thoughts ran through my mind, I was still confused on how things had gotten this bad.
My Dad, the man I loved and saw with so much respect, was a murder?
For some reason, the truth still didn’t sit right with me. It felt as though there was more to uncover.
If there was, I would find out the truth.
I was tired of letting my parents dictate my every move, I needed space.
I wanted to live a little and once I discovered whatever sort of evil they were keeping hidden I might finally be able to do just that.
The next day came.
I had been staring out the window all morning, then there they were.
A group of men in a tinted black Mercedes had pulled up to the house and I just knew this was no joke.
One of the men knocked on our door and introduced himself to my mom as Roman Veiri, the body guard put in charge of me and head body guard to the Cinclairs.
I hugged my parents as Roman escorted me inside the car.
I wanted to stay angry at them.
I wanted to resist and demand answers.
But the moment I took one last look at my parents I couldn’t bring myself to say anything, especially when I knew I just might save them.
So I got into the car and we left.
I stared out the window as we left our estate and drove far away to some sort of empty plot of land.
The car stopped there and two other black cars pulled up from behind us.
“What are we doing here?”
No one answered.
Ofcourse.
Roman opened the door.
“Come with me.”
I hesitated. Then I stepped outside.
I walked down and saw a stage surrounded by wooden chairs.
“Was this the auction?”
While I was still staring and wondering what my faith would be, I noticed the world around me had gone silent. Oldly silent.
Then I heard the name “Sebastian Cinclair”.
My body went stiff.
I turned slowly around, and a man was walking up to us.
I had never never seen him before yet I couldn’t seem to look away.
He was tall, his hair was dark and neatly pushed back, he had what I could describe as the perfect physique fitting his tailored suit perfectly.
Though, there was something wrong about him which I couldn’t place my finger on.
Then it hit me.
He was Sebastian Cinclair, he had an expression on his face which was completely unreadable.
I found myself frozen in place as he got closer to me.
I wasn’t about to let him think for one minute that I had come here to make things easy for him so I put on my bravest face.
He stopped in front of me, his eyes traveling all over my face.
He looked as though he recognized me but I knew I had never met him.
He lifted up my chin
“Jasmine, the pleasure is all mine.”
I just froze staring at him confused
“How did he know my name?”
I mean I couldn’t expect less after all he is supposed to be a billionaire Maddie Boss.
I wondered how long he had his eyes on me for and for what reason exactly?
He didn’t seem like he wanted to kill me ,but that could all be fake.
He walked away and ushered for the auction to begin.
