Ever since I am a kid, I am in love with Mysteries. Mystery is an interesting thing to identify. Everything revolves about mystery. Almost everything is one.
I love staying in La Mouselle, for it has every mystery I'm interested with. I even applied as the tour guide and care taker of the museum. Luckily, I passed!
La Mouselle is a museum focused in mysteries. Everyone who went here is fascinated by how it is. So does I, even after a year of working here.
There were even rumors that ghosts stay here. Monsters at night. But sadly, nothing like that has ever occurred.
I was about to close the front door when I heard a voice calling me. It was full of plead.
"Miss! Hey!" I turned to see a man in his late 20s running towards me. i always dropped my jaw seeing how hot he is. Does his...
No! Don't be such a pervert, Chrys!
He stopped in front of me, sighing so hard from running. He smiled at me before pointing out the museum I adore so much.
"Can I see the museum?" He asked. I bit my lip. But I just locked the door!
"Sorry, we're closed. Comeback tomorrow." I turned my back at him. I'm tired from work, not even his handsome face can make me open the museum again!
"Even if I'll treat you in return?" I immediately look at him. Free dinner is not that bad...
I sighed and pouted. its for the free dinner, alright? I opened the museum's entrance and started acting like a proper tour guide.
"Welcome to La Mouselle! The house of mysteries. Where we give you shivers..." I whispered at his ear. "Down to the core."
"Are you sure?" He moved a little that caused the side of our lips to hit. I blushed a bit before continuing to entertaining him.
"First off, we present, the rendering of the shadows painting by Daniel, the greatest painter known of the country way back in 1600s. This was the last painting he painted before he died. It was known as the mystery for viewers tend to hear something whisper to their ears when they stared long at it." I smiled as I blew that one off smoothly. I noticed him staring at me.
"What do you hear then?" I smirked. "Rosaria killed me."
His eyes drifted at the painting. He stared at it while I stare at his handsome face.
Pink lips, dark black hair, attractive brown eyes and thick eyebrows. These are the characteristics he hold enough to make women go on their knees for him. Even I can.
But of course, I won't.
I know myself more than him. And I would never sumbit to someone like him. No matter how attractive he is.
But those lips...
"Are you okay, Miss?" I cleared my throat and started walking towards the next station. Dammit, get a hold of yourself!
"I'm sorry, I must've dozed off. How about we go to the next one?" He agreed before folloing me to the next station.
"Here is the majestic lion head, preserved since 1905. Ranger Tobe of the Rangers caught this rare lion from the wild as he patrol the Ferry. It is said that this belongs to the rare offspring of Panthera Leo, the White Lion." I regained my composure when he moved closer to me.
"And the mystery?"
"It is said to be heard roaring in the haunted house of Ranger Tobe, where he preserved it as a trophy. It was once caught in a recording camera, the roar, I mean." I pressed the camera beside the Lion head. I held his hand in case he might jump from the roar.
Unexpectedly, he didn't. I realized and pulled my hand from him. My eyes widened as he chuckled.
"You thought I'm scared of the roar? Do you usually do that to kids who visit the museum?" I shyly nodded before walking. Gosh, Chrys!
"Let's go finish the tour." I said before hurrying to the next post. The tour finished at 10:01 in the evening. He made me show everything to him, including the second floor. We ent outside and I'm really late for my dorm's closing time which is on 9:30.
"I'll go now." I bid my goodbye but my stomach won't cooperate. I felt my stomach growled in hunger and my face turned red. How can I make such impression?
"So, dinner?" He smiled before pointing out his Chevrolet.
I guess a free dinner won't hurt.
We drove not so far away. I guess its a hotel. I felt shy for I am still wearing my Museum shirt and I'm entering in such exclusive hotel. What a shame.
He pointed out the farthest seat with the view of the moonlight sky. I agreed and sat in front of him. He handed me the menu and I gulped seeing the prices!
But it won't hurt to be treated once in a while, right?
I ordered a slice of strawberry cake and a wine. I am not that hungry but it won't hurt to eat sweets. He ordered some British alcohol that he mentioned he intended for us to drink.
"You like cakes? Those are too sweet." He commented when I smiled seeing the cake arrive. I rolled my eyes. Boys always think like that.
"Cakes are delicious. Why don't you try it?" He smirked when I pointed the fork with a cake inserted in it. I took a bit that surprised me.
"Mm. Delizioso." Anxiety filled inside me. Does he?
"Here's your wine, sir." A young barista personally brought the wine to us. He only poured his glass and not mine. Maybe he noticed the wine beside me.
"Why not pour hers too? I'll drink the wine." Before I can even protest, he took the glass of wine and drank it straight. Looks like Mister hear is delicate enough to not take someone's wine.
Oh, right. His name is Harvary. He asked my name earlier and exchanged with his.
We clunked our glasses and went out for a shot of alcohol. I suddenly felt dizzy when I drank the alcohol. Its so strong.
I gulped when my eyesight becomes dizzy. Am I drunk with one shot?
"Harvary," I called. "Maybe I should call it a day. Thank you for the treat."
"Sure. Let me take you home." I refused.
"I can take a cab. Thank you." But he's persistent as ever.
"Atleast let me get you a cab. Come on, I'll help you up." He helped me walk through the hallway, until my vision faded.
And the last thing I saw?
Him falling down as well.
