In a beautiful Kingdom by the lush hills, a King sat on his throne, currently listening to a messenger from another Kingdom.
"And so, as chief emissary of the majestic kingdom of Bulovia, which is known for its abundance of pears, potatoes and peasants, I am authorized by my courageous king and my magnificent queen to hereby invite the princesses of King Randolph to a royal gala. We have invited princesses from far and wide to this extraordinary ball."
"Papa, look what I found." Both men turned to see two little girls enter the room.
"You won't believe it."
"Janessa, Kathleen, wait for me." Another little girl yelled, running after the other two.
"As I was saying..." The messenger started but he was interrupted when the three girls ran up to the king.
"A blue—winged beetle." The girl wearing a blue dress said, showing the beetle in her hand to the King.
"It makes a strange noise when it..." The beetle buzzed and flew away from her hand.
"See?" The beetle flew directly to the King.
"Whoa. Oh my." His crown fell.
"Your Majesty, as I was say..." The messenger started again, but then the beetle flew towards him and he started swatting it away.
"Oh! Ugh! Don't hurt him." The two girls yelled and started chasing the flying beetle.
"Quick, catch him before he gets to the pantry."
"Slow down, you guys."
"Playing through." Two older girls dressed in shades of orange and green enter the room, playing croquette.
"Just be a second, Papa."
"Your Highness, I really think perhaps this is not..." The messenger started once again, but then a ball flies over the King's head, knocking his crown off again.
"Whoa. Delia!" The King exclaimed, looking at the girl in the green dress.
"Sorry too much wrist." Delia apologized.
"Those are your daughters?" The messenger asked surprised.
"A few of them." The King replied.
"Rambunctious, aren't they?"
"Look, Papa." Two girls enter wearing light blue and light violet dresses, walking on stilts, laughing.
"Humph! Your daughters are hardly proper princesses." The messenger commented.
"I can't wait for him to meet Harold." Two out of three little princesses from earlier run in, the brown haired one holding the beetle.
The two crash into the other two walking on stilts, the last princess coming to stand in front of them all, as they laughed.
"Humph. Perhaps another ball. Your Highness." The messenger bowed and then turned around to leave, muttering under his breath.
"Princesses? Huh! More like wild animals."
King Randolph heard what the messenger said, and dropped his head in slight disappointment.
King Randolph sat at the head of a long dinning table, waiting for his daughters so that they could have lunch.
"Hello, Papa." A girl in purple dress greeted as she entered the room and kissed her father's cheek.
"Ashlyn."
"How are you, Papa?" A girl in red dress said as she and another girl in blue dress, carrying a book entered.
"Blair. Courtney."
The girl holding the book, bumped into her father chair, making her away of her surroundings. Then she turned and greeted her father.
"Papa."
"We're here, Papa." The two girls who were playing croquette earlier said as they entered the room.
"Delia, Edeline."
"Hi Papa." A girl in pink dress said.
"Fallon."
"Good afternoon Papa." A girl wearing white and yellow dress said, carrying a tray of chocolate fudge soufflé.
She tripped on her feet and the tray almost fell from her hands but her father helped stabilize her.
"Oops." Randolph laughed.
"Hello [Y/n]."
"We're absolutely, positively starving." The two girls who were walking on stilts earlier said as they entered the room.
"Hello, Hadley, Isla".
Then the three little girls from earlier entered, giggling happily.
"Hello, Janessa, Kathleen. And Lacey." Randolph helped Lacey onto her seat.
"There you are, dear." He laughed when he saw the empty seat right next to [Y/n].
"Where is Genevieve?" A small baby tiger jumped on the table, meowing.
"Twyla, off the table please." Randolph said to the tiger before he was picked up by a blonde girl in a pink and white dress.
"Sorry I'm late, Papa." The girl said before sitting next to her twin.
"My 13 princesses." Randolph said smiling at them.
The girls all started rambling.
"Girls? Please!" Randolph said, trying to get their attention.
"Quiet down." He yelled clanging his spoon on his cup.
"Shhh!" The princesses all calmed down, Delia tapping Courtney, making her drop her book.
Randolph cleared his throat.
"It's been pointed out to me that you could be doing more to be, um...well, proper princesses."
Ashlyn, Genevieve and [Y/n] exchanged a look.
"Like what, Papa?" Ashlyn asked.
"Well, uh, like, um... Well, I...Perhaps, uh... um..."
The Royal Messenger entered the dinning room, interrupting the King.
"The Royal cobblers have arrived."
"They're here." One by one, the girls literally run out of the dinning room.
"Bye, Papa."
"Goodbye."
"Wait. Girls!" Randolph started, but the girls ignored him.
"They're just shoes." The princesses gasp.
"Just shoes?!" Edeline and Fallon asked in disbelief, before walking out.
"Aren't they?" Randolph asked in confusion.
"They're dancing shoes, Papa." Genevieve and [Y/n] said, coming to either side of their father, kissing his cheek.
"Oh, almost forgot these." [Y/n] said and picked up a plate of muffins she had made earlier, walking out with her twin.
Randolph sighed and sat down, as Twyla climbed on the table, and started drinking the milk on Genevieve's plate.
"Bon appetite Twyla."
The triplets giggled happily as they ran down the castle stairs
"Derek, Ethan, Derek, Ethan!" Janessa yelled as her and her sisters ran in front of two handsome young men, who were standing in front of a cart.
"Do you have our shoes?" Kathleen asked.
"Can we see?" Lacey added.
"Were we supposed to bring shoes?" Derek asked.
"Yes!" The triplets exclaimed, making the two boys laugh amused.
"Maybe you can us." Ethan said giving the key to the cart to Lacey, who opened it.
The princesses all gasp when they saw all the beautiful shoes that were in the cart.
"Oh, you two, they're lovely." Fallon commented.
"You're amazing you two." Ashlyn said.
"We're glad you like them, Your Highnesses." Ethan said as he and his partner handed the princesses their shoes.
"I taught them everything they know." A blue and yellow parrot said, landing on Derek's shoulder.
"Yeah, right, Felix." Ethan said to the bird.
"Anything for us?" Genevieve asked as she and her twin, came to stand before two boys.
"Are you kidding? They burned the midnight oil for you two." Both Derek and Ethan blushed in embarrassment.
"That'll do, Felix." Derek said, waving Felix away.
"Ethan please, can you help tighten our shoes?" Delia asked, as she and Edeline came up to him.
"Oh…um…of course your Highnesses." He walked away but not before casting a smile at [Y/n] who smiled back .
"Felix's just a bird. He doesn't know what he's saying." Derek said to the twins.
"Oh. Of course." Genevieve replied.
"Can you please..."
"Tighten our shoes?" Hadley and Isla said, coming up to Derek.
"These are yours." Derek handed Genevieve a pair of shoes.
"I hope you like them, Your Highness."
"What about mine?" [Y/n] asked.
"They're with Ethan, Your Highness." Derek was dragged away by Hadley and Isla.
Genevieve turned the shoes around and the twins gasp at how beautiful they were.
They were more beautiful than all the others
"Oh! Thank you." Genevieve said, looking in Derek's direction.
"I'm going to take my shoes from Ethan."
Genevieve giggled knowingly.
"Good luck." [Y/n] glared at her twin and made her way over to Ethan.
"Thanks Ethan." Delia and Edeline both said and walked away.
"Um…" Ethan turned to see [Y/n] standing behind him. "Muffin?"
She raised a small plate of muffins to him and he let out a small laugh, then took one.
[Y/n] watched in anticipation as he took a bite.
Ethan hummed in approval.
"Is it good?"
"Good? It's amazing. I mean, so is all your cooking." [Y/n] blushed.
"Thank you."
The two smile softly at each other, when [Y/n] suddenly remembered.
"Oh, my shoes?"
"Oh…um yeah. Wait, I'll get them for you."
[Y/n] watched as Ethan ran over to the cart and brought a pair of shoes.
"I really hope you like them." He handed them over to her, and [Y/n] gasped at the sight of them.
They were a bright marigold color and they glittered in the sun.
"Wow, they're beautiful. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome. Um…do you want me to help you put it on?"
[Y/n] blushed.
"Um…"
"Here."
Ethan took the shoes from her hands and then bent to help her put it on.
"There, perfect fit."
[Y/n] stepped back to admire the shoes on her feet, but then she tripped falling backward.
Ethan rushed forward to catch her, and they paused, staring into each other's eyes.
Someone cleared their throat behind them, and they both jumped apart.
"Sorry to interrupt." Genevieve said amused.
"It's okay Your Highness, I should go help Derek anyways." Ethan said and backed away, [Y/n] looking after him solemnly.
[Y/n] turned and glared at her sister.
"What? I just wanted to take a look at your shoes."
"Yeah right." [Y/n] said, but then lifted her foot for her sister to see. "But here, take a look."
"Wow, they're so beautiful."
"Just like yours."
"Thank you, Derek."
"Thanks, Derek." Hadley and Isla said, as Derek finished tightening their shoes.
Ethan came to stand beside his friend, Derek giving him a small smile.
Felix squawked and then landed on Ethan's shoulder.
"You blew your chances, Romeos. Especially you, Ethan."
"What chance? They're princesses." Derek said and the two turn to stare in Genevieve and [Y/n]'s direction, as the two sisters started twirling around, in their new shoes.
Delia twirled past them and sighed.
"All we're missing is music."
"Music?" Felix reached into Ethan's pocket and pulled out a flute with his beak.
"Hey. Hey!"
"You play?" [Y/n] asked coming to stand in front of him.
"I... I don't. Not really." Derek was snickering behind his hand. "Derek plays too."
"What? I…um…I…" Derek started nervously.
"Will you two play for us?" Hadley and Isla asked.
"Please, Derek, Ethan, please?" The triplets pleaded in unison.
Ethan gave Derek a pointed look, and he sighed and brought out his flute.
"As you wish, your Highnesses."
Derek and Ethan started playing basketball beauty tune, and the girls laughed happily, then started doing what they loved the most, dancing.
Randolph watched his daughter from a window in the castle, standing next to his late wife's portrait.
"I love them, but at times I don't understand them. If only you were here."
The girls were in their shared room, all getting ready for bed.
"You know what we should do? Let's make a new pair of stilts." Isla said to her twin.
"And extra tall this time." Hadley suggested.
"That's such a good idea."
Edeline walked into the room and dumped all her sport equipment on the floor, close to her bed.
"Why use closet when the floor is closer?" Delia asked.
"Exactly." Edeline answered then turned to Genevieve, who was admiring her new shoes.
"Genevieve, is it the shoes you like?" She asked.
"Or the cobbler who made them?" Fallon finished and they all giggle.
"What are you talking about?" Genevieve asked confused.
"Derek and Ethan are so cute." Fallon said.
"If you say so, Fallon."
"Maybe the problem is they're not princes" Blair said.
"I don't care if Derek's a prince, a king or an emperor. The truth is..."
"You are head over heels." Fallon said knowingly.
"Don't be ridiculous." Genevieve said. "Besides, he never notices me. If I were paying attention, which I'm not."
"Genevieve's got it bad." Ashlyn said, making the girls giggle again.
[Y/n] entered the room with a tray of cookies in her hands.
"Anyone up for a late night snack?"
The triplets gasp and ran over to her.
"Yes please." They each took one from the tray
"Thanks [Y/n]."
[Y/n] giggled and turned to the other girls, each taking one cookie from the tray.
"You know, Genevieve's not the only one with eyes for a handsome cobbler. It seems her twin too has feelings for one." Delia said, nibbling on her cookie.
"What are you talking about?" [Y/n] asked confused.
"You and Ethan." Blair replied, smirking.
[Y/n] blushed.
"What?…Oh no…we're not…we're just…"
"Did you see them today? There was definitely chemistry between them." Fallon said with a dreamy look in her eyes.
"I…I don't know what you guys are talking about." [Y/n] said.
"You're in denial." Ashlyn said in a singsong voice.
"What? No I'm not."
"Ah. So you do have feelings for him." Edeline said teasingly.
"I never said…I just…you guys don't…" The girls giggle.
"Don't worry, we so ship it." Fallon said, making [Y/n] roll her eyes, sighing then coming to see by her twin who tapped her back sympathetically.
"Don't feel down, they got me too." Genevieve said, making [Y/n] smirk.
"Oh you mean your not—so—discreet feelings for Derek?"
Genevieve gasped, then picked up a pillow and threw it at [Y/n], who laughed.
Janessa gently took the beetle in her hand and placed it inside a small carrier cage.
"Good night, Thomas" She opened the other cage to reveal a spider.
"Richard." She gasped when she saw that the last carrier was empty.
"Where's Harold?"
The girls squeal.
"What is he? A spider?" Ashlyn asked frightened.
"A scorpion?" Blair asked.
"A snake?" Courtney asked making all the girls scream in fright.
Janessa laughed when she saw a lump under her blanket.
"No." She picked the creature up and turned to show it to her elder sisters. "A caterpillar."
The girls sigh in relief. Janessa placed the caterpillar back into it's carrier, and all the girls settle down for bed.
