It was a beautiful night. The moonlight was illuminating the entire world. A slight breeze was blowing. The night was silent except for the laughters coming from the banquet hall that could be heard frequently. In the distance, the sound of a flute could be heard. The tune was calming yet had a sad feeling to it. A woman was sitting on the roof of the banquet hall with her eyes closed and a flute pressed on her lips. The moonlight was illuminating her face and it seemed as if she was emanating the moonlight. She had her eyes closed and her hair were flowing in the breeze. With hair as red as the blood itself, she looked like the angel of death that had descended upon the earth.
" Until when are you going to keep staring at me." The woman stopped playing and opened her eyes. Unlike the tune that she had been playing, her eyes were emotionless and cold.
" Oh, You noticed." A man appeared from behind her and said smiling.
" What do you want?" The woman asked in a stern voice.
" Why, Can't I see my wife without any reason?" The man said, came beside the woman and sat down.
" Wife? You make me laugh. So you still think that you have the right to call me your wife after what you have done to me?" The woman replied while laughing, the sarcasm evident in her voice.
On the other hand, the man had a pained expression.
" I know that I have done many cruel things to you but I will not rest in peace until you forgive me." The man replied and looked at the woman who was now staring at him.
" Oh, Seeing as you are this sincere about me forgiving you than how about this, Give me the divorce and I'll forgive you." The woman replied with a smile.
The man was silent for a while and then replied,
" Except for this thing, I can give you anything. Any desires of yours or if you want something, I can give you anything. Just don't leave me."
" What a sight this is, The great king of the Ice empire who is known for his coldness is here confessing his love to the woman whom he had so graciously thrown away before. I am so touched by your sincerity." The woman laughed again mockingly. Then she got up and said,
" Once, I had yearned to hear those words from you but now, these words disgust me. Also, If you won't give me the divorce which is my legal right, I will call up the council of kings and have my divorce there. As you already know, I am not the weak and fragile girl I used to be who was on your mercy. "
Saying that, she left and the man kept looking at her until she had completely vanished. A tear went down his cheek as he sat there in silence.
" She's right. I can't ask for her forgiveness but What can I do? I can't live without her."
A gentle breeze started blowing again but now instead of the calm melody of the flute, the sobbing of the man sitting on the roof could be heard.
