Planet Blue, Huaguo.

Trent Woodward stood outside a café not far away, staring at the sign like it had personally offended him.

“Grandpa… seriously, this is you setting me up, isn’t it?”

He pinched the folded paper in his pocket, feeling a headache coming on.

It was a marriage contract.

Back then, his grandfather and an old comrade had made a pact. If one had a son and the other had a daughter, the kids would marry. If both had sons, then the next generation—the grandson and granddaughter—would tie the knot instead.

In the end, both his grandfather and that old comrade, Beau Lockhart, had sons.

By their generation, though, things lined up in the most ridiculous way possible. Trent was very much a man, and Beau Lockhart happened to have a granddaughter.

Her name was Bianca Lockhart.

Trent had seen her photo before. No exaggeration—she was prettier than a lot of actresses on TV.

He had even looked up the Lockhart family online. Their publicly known assets were already over ten billion.

And that was just what could be found on the surface. Their real wealth was probably even crazier.

“The second Bianca sees me, she’s definitely going to shut this down.”

“So what am I even doing here? Walking straight into an L?”

With his thoughts in a complete mess, Trent headed for the café anyway.

Before his grandfather passed away, he had given him a phone number.

Three days ago, Trent had called it and arranged to meet Bianca here.

The moment he walked inside, he followed the line of sight of several men in the café and immediately spotted Bianca sitting quietly in a corner.

She was just sitting there, calm and still, but her presence was way too strong. It was the kind of aura that made people look, yet kept them from casually walking up to bother her.

Trent took a breath and walked over.

Under the stunned gazes of a few onlookers, he pulled out the chair across from her and sat down.

“Hello,” he said. “I’m Trent Woodward.”

“Asked you to come today because I wanted to talk about the engagement.”

Trent Woodward was the first to speak. His tone was calm, but there was a faint stiffness in it, like he had rehearsed this more than once on the way over.

Bianca Lockhart gave a slight nod, her expression cool and composed. “Go on.”

Trent took out the engagement document and set it on the table.

“Back then, my grandpa and your grandpa were very close. That’s why they arranged this marriage.” He paused, then said plainly, “But times are different now.”

He looked at Bianca and pushed the words out in one breath.

“Let’s just pretend this engagement never existed.”

“My grandpa told me before he passed that I had to meet you in person and make things clear.”

Bianca’s eyes shifted, and for the first time, a trace of surprise appeared on her face. She looked straight at him. “You don’t want to marry me?”

Trent let out a dry laugh, half mocking himself.

“I know where I stand. The Lockhart family is doing better and better, while my family’s just... ordinary.” He spoke in an easy tone, but there was a quiet self-awareness behind it. “We’re not from the same world.”

“That’s it.” He stood up slightly, ready to leave. “Coffee’s on me.”

Just as he was about to get up, Bianca spoke again.

“I told you on the phone to bring your household register. Did you bring it?”

Trent paused, then nodded.

He figured Bianca probably wanted to help transfer his registration as a way of making up for this. Getting an S City household registration wasn’t easy at all, and honestly, he did need one.

If Bianca was willing to offer that herself, he definitely wasn’t going to play fake noble and refuse.

With an S City registration, things would be way easier later on, especially when he had kids and needed to deal with school enrollment.

Then Bianca looked at him and said evenly, “Then let’s go get the marriage certificate.”

“...Huh?”

Trent froze on the spot and stared at her, completely dumbfounded.

For a second, he seriously wondered if he’d heard her wrong.

Had Bianca Lockhart just said she wanted to go register the marriage with him?

Trent Woodward looked at her, caught off guard for real. “What did you just say?”

Bianca’s tone stayed calm, but there was no room for doubt in it. “Your grandfather and my grandfather made this engagement. Since they did, I should honor it. The Lockhart family does not go back on its word. Ever.”

Trent stared at her with a strange look in his eyes.

“Hold on,” he said, brows knitting together. “You don’t even know if I already have a girlfriend, and you want to go get the marriage certificate right now?”

Bianca gave a faint smile, light and composed. “You may not know much about me, but I know enough about you. You’ve never had a girlfriend. You’ve been single for twenty-three years.”

Trent went silent.

“…Wow.”

After a long pause, he finally frowned and asked, “Bianca, why?”

He genuinely couldn’t figure it out.

With Bianca’s looks, background, and status, what kind of man couldn’t she find?

He was just an ordinary guy. No matter how he looked at it, Bianca had ten thousand reasons to turn down this marriage.

Unless…

A weird thought popped into his head out of nowhere.

Was she trying to make him take responsibility for someone else’s kid?

But the moment that crossed his mind, he nearly talked himself out of it. With Bianca’s conditions, even if that were true, there would still be tons of men lining up willingly. She could easily find someone way better than him, like, without even trying.

“I already told you,” Bianca said, her expression turning serious. “The Lockhart family does not break promises.”

Trent still looked hesitant.

Then Bianca lowered her voice a little and said plainly, “Don’t worry. I’m not sick. And I’m not pregnant with anyone else’s child.”

She paused, then added, “And I’m not asking you to be some shield for me either.”

Trent’s eyes shifted slightly.

Bianca continued in an even tone, like she had already thought all of this through. “After we get married, we can live together, but I will not fulfill a wife’s obligations. If after three years there’s still no feelings between us, then we end the engagement.”

Only then did Trent quietly let out the breath he’d been holding.

“That,” he said, shoulders easing a little, “actually makes me feel a lot better.”

He looked at her seriously.

“So you’re really sure… you want to marry me?”

If Bianca Lockhart insisted, Trent Woodward wasn’t about to keep arguing. Even if they never became a real couple, just looking at a beauty like her every day was already a win.

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah. I’m sure.”

Bianca gave a small nod.

The two of them left the café together.

After getting into Bianca’s Porsche, they drove for about half an hour before arriving at the Civil Affairs Bureau. Not long after, they walked out with brand-new marriage certificates in hand.

Standing outside the bureau, Trent looked a little dazed.

Just like that… he was married.

And his wife was actually someone like Bianca Lockhart, a total rich-and-beautiful goddess.

Once they got back into the car, Bianca held the steering wheel and said calmly, “You should move out of the place you’re renting now and cancel it.”

She paused, then continued, “I bought an apartment for our marital home. You can stay there. I’ll also get you a car so it’s easier for you to commute.”

Trent turned to look at her. “You’re living there too?”

Bianca gave a faint nod. “I’ll go home every day. In front of other people, we’ll be a normal married couple. You can introduce me to your friends too.”

Trent looked at her profile and asked, “Then what should I call you from now on? Also, since we’re married, there’ll probably be some intimate moments in front of outsiders.”

A blush instantly crept onto Bianca’s pretty face.

“You can call me Bianca,” she said softly. “We’re husband and wife now, so… simple things like hugging, holding hands, that kind of thing… I—I won’t refuse.”

Trent smiled a little.

He could hear it clearly—her voice was trembling.

So deep down, Bianca wasn’t nearly as calm as she looked on the surface.

“My rented place is way too shabby for you anyway. I’ll stay at the apartment you bought,” Trent said. “As for the car, forget it. The subway works fine for me.”

After saying that, he closed his eyes.

He really needed a minute to process everything. This whole day felt so unreal, like he’d somehow wandered straight into a dream.

More than half an hour later, the car finally drove into a high-end residential complex.

Bianca Lockhart parked the car smoothly and said, “These three parking spots are ours. If you get a car later, you can leave it here.”

Trent Woodward nodded.

As for getting a car… yeah, who knew when that would happen. His bank card had a six-digit password guarding a balance that barely had four digits in it. Just thinking about it was kind of tragic.

Bianca led him forward as she spoke in an even tone, “This building has three elevators for each unit. Elevator Three is specifically for the housekeeper.”

Trent clicked his tongue inwardly.

Seriously, what kind of rich-people setup was this? The place he was renting now had one elevator shared by three households on each floor. But here? Three elevators for one family.

Money really did make life absurdly comfortable.

Soon, the elevator carried them up to the twentieth floor.

Bianca opened the door and said, “Trent, come in.”

She stepped aside a little and added, “This apartment is three hundred and sixty square meters. It’s not as big as a villa, but with just the two of us living here, it should be more than enough.”

Trent walked into the apartment.

Then he froze.

His eyes locked on Bianca.

Right above her head, out of nowhere, there was a silver treasure chest.

It was just hanging there, absurd and eye-catching.

And as Bianca moved, the silver chest moved with her, following right above her head like it was glued there.

“What the hell?”

Trent rubbed his eyes hard, thinking he was seeing things.

But when he looked again, the silver treasure chest was still there.

Bianca turned to look at him, faint confusion flashing across her cool face.

“Trent, what’s wrong?”

Bianca Lockhart looked at Trent Woodward, puzzled.

Trent cleared his throat and forced a casual tone. “Bianca, come on, we did get married today. How about a hug? That way, if we have to act like a couple outside, it won’t feel super awkward.”

Bianca’s beautiful eyes stayed fixed on him, sharp and steady, like she was trying to read every little thought on his face.

“Trent, don’t try anything funny,” she said flatly. “I’ve trained in martial arts. Forget you—even two or three strong men together wouldn’t be enough to beat me.”

Trent immediately nodded, looking as sincere as possible. “Relax. Just a simple hug, that’s all.”

Bianca studied him for another second, then took a slow breath, as if mentally preparing herself.

“Fine.”

Trent stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her.

The moment he pulled her into the embrace, his head brushed against the silver treasure chest floating above her head.

“Ding. Treasure Chest System activated. Silver Treasure Chest opened.”

“Congratulations, Host. You have obtained Grandmaster-Level Martial Arts.”
