He could still recall the sound of the bomb exploding in his ears.
He was on a public bus going north back to the orphanage where he grew up when he heard a faint beeping noise from the bag in front of him. He immediately alerted the conductor and the bus driver to park the bus and had everyone leave the bus first.
There was an elderly woman who had trouble leaving her seat so he went back and helped evacuate her. Just as he passed the elderly to the conductor, he heard the beeping noise gets faster and louder so he pushed the elderly and the conductor as hard as he could as the bomb exploded.
Thankfully, before he was fully engulfed by the flames, he saw the elderly and the conductor looked back at him, both safe.
Everyone made it out of that explosion except him.
Back then, he thought, “It’s okay. I’m an orphan anyway. I lived alone and died alone.” but now…
“Rome! Wake up!”
He heard a new voice.
Velvety and… angry?
His head is in pain as if hit by something heavy. He was disoriented for a moment as he tried to grasp the current situation. He should have died in that bomb, he knew that, so how come he’s still feeling pain?
Did he die and go to hell? He thought the man who called his name had a nice voice.
“Like an angel,” he murmured unknowingly.
He was thinking about it when an onslaught of memory was forced into his brain which made him more woozy.
He was currently inside a novel he once read when he was in College as a joke from his friends.
The owner of the body he’s currently in right now is also Rome Angelo, who is supposed to die at the age of 21 after getting caught by his lover, Alexei Devin, the novel’s villain trying to leave the country to elope with his rival.
According to the memory of the previous owner of the body, he is in the 3rd rate novel titled, “I am loved by everyone”, and he’s at the part before the main story comes.
He just recently graduated and the man standing in front of him is Alexei Devin, his gold master, someone he promised to be his lover after graduating, and the villain of the novel. He did everything for the protagonist of the story because he was the first person who reached out to him after he fully succumbed to darkness.
In the plot, he called the protagonist his ‘Only remaining light”, and he tried to ruin everyone who tried to take the main protagonist away from him. According to the memory poured out into him, he is a cannon fodder of the story, the current lover and later, the white moonlight of the villain. He will die at the hands of the villain after he found out that he’s trying to leave the country to get away from him and run off with a lover who is the original male lead of the novel and the villain’s company rival.
Unknown to the original Rome, the male lead was only using him to find a time to ruin the villain whom he had a rivalry with. Just after he was killed by the villain, the male lead will work with his moles in the villain’s company to sabotage his projects.
The original Male lead is named Chris Eileen, the best friend of the original body owner, who was an orphan just like him but who was taken back by his family after finding out that he was a son of the head of the Eileen family from a previous mistress, from then, the male lead led the life of a phoenix as one of the wealthiest men in the country. After he was taken back by his family, he immediately studied and later on, worked in the company and made it thrive. However, most of his projects were blocked by the villain.
After the Male lead found out that the villain wanted to sponsor the original owner, he immediately went to contact him and made lots of promises. The original owner of the body worshiped the male lead like a God since he was taken from the orphanage and because of the gratefulness of his family, they usually donated to the orphanage. The male lead always tells him that all the donations were because he loves the original owner of the body and that the villain blocks most of their donation so the original owner could rely on him instead.
In the end, all the lies made the original owner of the body reluctant to be with the villain and was urged by him to elope with him after graduation.
He brought a ticket and promised to meet the male lead at the airport but the villain found out, caught him and wanted to kill him. When the villain asked why he wanted to leave him, he told him that he wants to live happily with the one he loves, which is the male lead and promised to return everything he gave him. The villain was heartbroken and wanted to just paralyzed him but something happened that made him kill the original owner’s body instead.
The villain was so shocked that for the first month after the original Rome’s death, he ignored the company which is how the Male lead was able to dig holes at the villain’s company for a while. He managed to get it back on track but since then, he blackened and retaliated everyone he found to be related to the incident and it was exactly one year later, at the original owner of the body’s death anniversary when the protagonist showed up in front of him and according to the novel, he immediately fell in love with when his eyes locked on to his.
