In a VIP ward, Cosrus.

“Don't fool yourself, Zhen Tian. You can't avoid facing the truth just by faking unconsciousness.”

When Zhen Tian opened her eyes and saw the familiar, yet oddly attractive man standing before her, she was confused.

She blacked out after that little prank she played on herself, she recalled that.

But what shook her more was the long dream she had where she remembered vividly that she was reading a book, "The Innocent Wife of the Domineering CEO".

The heroine of that book was a well-liked, attractive lady named Zhen Mi. Everyone in the book, including the hero and the other male supporting characters adored her. She was like a goddess who had no faults to them.

Zhen Mi had a sister who was two years younger than her named Zhen Tian. She was kidnapped by human traffickers when she was still a child, and after 16 years she returned to her parents through a DNA test.

Although Zhen Tian could live a luxurious life after returning home as her family was wealthy, she was neither loved by her parents nor by Zhen Mi's childhood friends, unlike her sister. For this, she blamed her sister.

Why was she the one who suffered at the hands of the human traffickers while her sister lived a sheltered life cherished by everyone around her?

Zhen Tian grew in bitterness and jealousy and wished to have the life her sister had.

As the story continued, Zhen Tian saved the hero in an accident and forced him to marry her, holding his debt to her for saving his life against him.

Then began their life together as a married couple. But the man did not love her, and they never even consummated their marriage.

After the man found out something fishy was behind Zhen Tian saving him in his accident, he despised and neglected her even more.

Because of her one-sided love for the man, Zhen Tian tried many times to plot against Zhen Mi, whom the man loved. She thought if Zhen Mi was out of the picture, the man might pay more attention to her.

But times again, Zhen Mi managed to escape danger, and the troubles Zhen Tian caused even became the touchstone to Zhen Mi and the man's true love.

Finally, after diligently causing so much trouble, the man could not put up with her anymore and chased her out of his house and out of his life.

So, Zhen Tian succumbed to her last resort and threatened to jump off a building if the man did not stay with her.

But she lost her footing by accident and fell from the 50th floor.

Her body was shattered, and her blood and insides splattered all over the scene.

And thus was the tragic end for Zhen Tian.

In the dream, she read the story again and again in disbelief before she woke up.

Why was this outrageous story so familiar to her?

Oh, right!

It's because the first 22 years of HER life completely matched the plot of "The Innocent Wife of the Domineering CEO"! SHE was the Zhen Tian in the story!

Suddenly she felt bitterness in her heart, and her eyes were sore. She subconsciously rubbed her eyes to find that her face was full of… tears?

Was she crying because she had foreseen her fate if she continued her life as she did in the story? What a darn horrible death she would have!

“If you don't sign the paperwork now while I'm still being kind, nothing good will come of this.”

He Yan’s frosty tone pulled Zhen Tian back into reality from her memories. The man did not pity her, probably because she had shed too many crocodile tears.

The man stood at the edge of light and darkness as the sun set, the window's fading rays casting shadows over his features. He was a stunningly handsome man, but he was also cold and cruel.

Zhen Tian knew what He Yan would do to her if she continued down this road. The man would send her to her doom for his beloved’s sake.

So she took a deep breath to suppress her urge to strangle him on the spot and said, “Where’s the divorce papers?”

Her voice was firm and calm.

As she looked up at He Yan, even though there were tears in her eyes, her eyes were lifeless and displayed no emotions.

He Yan felt a strange sensation in his heart, but it was so quick that he was unsure what the feeling was.

When He Yan’s assistant, Fang Mu, who was standing behind him, heard Zhen Tian asking for the papers, he keenly handed them and a pen to her.

He hoped Zhen Tian would not be in the right state of mind and would sign the divorce papers unwittingly.

Zhen Tian took the huge stack of divorce papers and started reading through them. But the complicated clauses made her head hurt.

Since she knew she was not smart enough to understand them, she immediately went to the last page.

Lo and behold! When she saw the nine-digit number, she knew her life would be about more than this man who did not love her. With this amount of money, her future was glorious and hopeful!

She then recalled the plot of the book. In the story, when she was about to sign the divorce papers, that would mean her goody-two-shoes… ahem, her kind and lovely sister would return soon.

Then, she would pull out all stops and do many foolish things to prevent the divorce. Because of that, she died a tragic death in the end.

When Zhen Tian thought of this, she signed the papers without any hesitation. She did not want to walk down the path her character in the story did.

Then, she handed the papers to her sure-to-be ex-husband, whom she had only met a few times even though they had married for a year and a half, and said sincerely, “This is the first time in our marriage that I actually felt—your love for me.”

She did not expect the alimony to be a hundred million dollars!

She was such an idiot in the book! Why did she not choose the hundred million dollars and stay away from the heroine blessed by plot armor instead? Was she out of her mind!?

He Yan was stunned for a moment when he heard her. But he quickly looked at her signature and passed the papers to Fang Mu after ensuring everything was in place.

Fang Mu was also surprised and stared at Zhen Tian in disbelief.

He still remembered what happened before Zhen Tian fell unconscious.

When she found out He Yan wanted to get a divorce, the tears she cried were enough to drown a grown man.

She even banged her head against the corner of a table and then fainted.

After everything, and she had even shed blood, why did she suddenly sign the papers so readily? Could it be… she had a head injury?

Fang Mu looked at Zhen Tian pitifully, but he hid the divorce papers behind his back for fear Zhen Tian would suddenly come to her senses and refuse the divorce.

The more he thought about this possibility, the more worried he became. So he said to He Yan, “Mr. He, I’ll wait for you in the car.”

He had to keep the document safe no matter what, since they had to work so hard to get it.

When only two of them were in the ward, the atmosphere became even more chilling.

He Yan gave Zhen Tian a quiet frown and asked, “Zhen Tian, what the hell are you trying to pull now?”

He also didn't understand why she was so happy to sign the papers when she had wanted to marry him so badly in the first place.

Zhen Tian only looked at him innocently. There was no way she would tell him it was because she had read a book depicting her life from start to end.

She would continue living tenaciously by choosing money so she would not die young.

“He Yan.”

Zhen Tian had a sweet-sounding voice, but she imitated Zhen Mi and called He Yan with a soft and nasal voice. He seemed to like it whenever Zhen Mi called him that way. Maybe she could use it to her advantage too.

He Yan frowned but was mocking her in secret as he thought, “Ha! I knew it! I knew you wouldn’t leave me that easily. Let’s see what foul plan you have up your sleeve now.”

“The important question currently is… Are you going to pay me my alimony now? Are you going to transfer me the money or write me a cheque? If neither… I don’t mind taking cash too.”

He Yan was speechless.

He then sneered and scoffed at her. “Didn’t you say you didn’t marry me for money? Also, aren’t you forgetting something?”

Zhen Tian pondered for a moment. “Ahh, will I only get the money after we get our divorce certificates? Then should we go and get it done now?”

She was afraid of trouble if she were to drag things out. She wanted to stay away from this man as soon as possible!

When He Yan saw how anxious she was to get the divorce, he was irritated, like there was a thorn stuck in his throat.

“We shall do it some other day.”

“Ohh…” Zhen Tian’s disappointment was an unpleasant sight for the man.

He Yan turned grim and was about to give her a piece of his mind. But he stopped himself and left the ward instead.

At this time, a young lady in a red blouse and miniskirt came in and immediately cursed.

“F*ck! Did I see wrongly?”
