School always been a place known for bullies, queen bee, dumb jocks, drug dealers, couples and nerds. And I come under the category "Nerds". Everyday when I enter this hell , wish for one thing
same thing I had been wishing since junior high
Last day of high school.
The peace I have is my family.
Today is my 16th birthday. Sasha dropped me home after school. She has been my bestie only one actually since kindergarden. As I opened the front door, was hit by smell of my mom's special Alfredo pasta smiling I went straight to kitchen and saw my younger brother Derek sitting on his usual spot by stove. Derek is 14 yrs old, in school where mom is working as history teacher. Saw mom coming from pantry room with hand full of plates and glasses for dinner , helped her with glasses and arranged it on table.
"How was your day so far?" Mom asked from the kitchen
"Same old teachers, last period P.E same things" I said
But then I remembered about the gift Sasha gave me. With cheerful mood, went to living room to get my bag I thrown on sofa when I came and return back to kitchen to show mom and Derek the necklace. It is a gold necklace with small wolf locket.
"Look Mom Sasha gave this as my birthday present"
"Put it around your neck and let me see" Mom said smiling "it's a pretty one"
"Beautiful" Derek said
"Thanks guys"
With that I went to my room and started doing homework for tomorrow.
As time came for dinner, I took a shower. Wearing my cute bear PJ and tying my black hair into ponytail before going downstairs. Found my big brothers and Dad talking in dining room. I've 2 elder brothers also, Tristan and Lucas. Tristan is 25 and Lucas is 21 yrs old both of them are working with Dad after finishing college. They are in real estate business kind of family business.
My brothers look a lot like my dad with that dark brown hair but me, on the other hand look like mom with that black hair.
As they saw me approaching ,they stop talking which is suspicious but I ignored it and went to sit down.
"How is my sweet little pumpkin?" Dad says
" Good " says smiling
Derek and Mom joined soon .
Starts eating and talking about schools, mom's bitch colleague, Maia and random stuffs.
Maia is Tristan's girlfriend since high school and like a sister and friend to me. We talk girly stuff and has same taste in books and by books I mean our smut novels.
Halfway through dinner brothers started asking about my prom and date
"This guy in my English class asked to be his date yesterday actually" slip of the tongue
Oh my god, not going to end nicely. My brothers are very protective of me even some bullies don't pick on me
"He did what?" said in "the protective brother" tone Tristan
"What is that boy's name?" asked Lucas in same tone as Tristan
"Liam Davis" I said
"Wait , Coach Davis's son that player" said Lucas
"You're definitely not going" said Tristan
"Boys , come on stop it" Mom said
"Finish eating and wash dishes. You guys are on kitchen duty today " Dad said
"Elizabeth you can rest today" kissing on her cheek
"Thank you Stephen" Mom said
Brothers went to kitchen along with Dad to do chores still arguing.
I look at Mom who is still blushing from Dad's kiss. When I look at them, always see this perfect couple perfect in all ways like soulmates. I still don't know how they met. They are like opposite kinds but still perfect for eachother.
Washing my plate, I said Good night to everyone and went to upstairs to sleep.
Around midnight I woke up with pain body aching pain stood up from bed only to fall down on my knees. Screaming my heart out, I heard footsteps coming towards my room and suddenly bedroom opened saw my brothers and parents. Shocked expressions on their faces said something is wrong but it becomes a knowing expression
"It's happening already" Mom said
