I was supposed to have a perfect family, but due to an accident, my husband, who I had married for just three days, became a vegetable forever, and my father died in that accident. My mother is seriously ill and paralyzed in bed.

I gave birth to my husband's posthumous child. During the day, I watch over the shop, and at night, I mix in the nightclub, only serving drinks and not performing on stage.

The third place I worked was called National Beauty, and I arrived here at seven every night, with my makeup done perfectly.

Here, everyone is given two badges, one green, one red.

The red badge means no performance, the green badge means go on stage.

I have never worn a green badge, yet my business is booming and there's always activity on stage.

All this is thanks to my bewitchingly exotic, yet innocent face.

However, it is also this face that brought endless disasters to me, leading to earth-shattering changes in my life...

On the Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15, there were not many people in the nightclub and even less customers.

A special VIP room welcomed a peculiar client. All the girls in the nightclub were called into his room, and he singled out each one for selection, but none of them caught his eye. In frustration, he wondered if there were any more girls available?

That day, I had sent mooncakes to my mother and had dinner with her before making an excuse to return here.

Upon seeing me, Sister Lan nervously dragged me in without answering my questions and pushed me straight into the room.

Just as I steadied myself, I saw a lanky man next to the sofa wielding wine bottles in rage. Through the uncertain lighting, I saw his body emanating a chill of murderous intent, which caused me to gasp. Immediately, I turned to leave.

I was a bit nervous at the moment and fiddled with the lock twice before opening the door. As I was about to leave.

I heard a violent roar from the tall, skinny man behind me, "Stand still! Turn around!"

I was originally considering taking advantage of him not clearly seeing what I look like, and simply running away.

While still hesitating, I suddenly felt a weight on my shoulder, that man really stood behind me without my notice.

He turned me around, in the dim light of the corridor, I clearly saw a flash of surprise crossed his eyes, mixed with a hint of joy, which was quickly replaced by a layer of milky fog.

"Boss, I'm sorry, I walked into the wrong room!" I was nervously pounding, I always felt a bad premonition, I didn’t want anymore trouble, so I lied casually.

"Wrong room? I didn't expect that, 'searching high and low yet find it when least expected', you let me bump into you here!" The tall and thin man snorted coldly, one hand tightly gripping my wrist, the other hand covering my mouth and dragged me toward a room.

What does that mean? I was dumbfounded and didn't react.

By the time I reacted, I couldn't move, I could only whimper.

Once in the room, I struggled with all my might, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in my neck, as if something had bitten me, and then I had no strength in my body. I was limp, wanting to move but unable to.

The tall and thin man snorted coldly again, grabbed my hand and put it over his shoulder, opened the door of the room, and walked out.

I had no strength in my body and couldn't resist at all. I could only let him drag me through the corridor, pass the lobby, on the way to the entrance.

I had thought that with the way I looked, 'Lan Jie' and others in the club would come up and intervene.

But who knew, they all avoided me like the plague, walked their own paths when they saw me, watching me being dragged out by him and stuffed into a car.

As soon as I got in the car, I passed out.

When I woke up, I was bound tightly to a chair, my mouth stuffed with a stinky piece of clothing from somewhere, both smelly and salty, making me sick to my stomach but unable to vomit.

I looked around and found this was a room in some club, the tall man who brought me here was nowhere to be found, there was only the sound of someone talking on the phone, waving his hands excitedly by the window.

I took a deep breath, struggling to suppress my nausea. I flicked open a small blade hidden in a ring on my hand, and used it to cut the rope around my wrists. Seizing a moment when he wasn't paying attention, I calculated the timing, took a swift stride toward the door, pulled it open, and bolted out as if my life depended on it.

I had barely made a few steps when the man inside shouted loudly. I heard the rapid footsteps echoing in the corridor. Glancing back, I saw him about ten meters behind me, closing the gap with alarming speed.

Desperate, I pushed open the door to a noisy karaoke room and rushed in, slamming it shut behind me.

With my abrupt entrance, the previously lively room instantly fell into eerie silence.

With an awkward smile, I hadn't even had the chance to explain before a loud thud reverberated as the door was kicked violently from the outside.

"You damned wretch! Get out here! See if I don't kill you!"

"Help me, please! There's a madman outside trying to kill me!" I pleaded, bracing against the door, turning towards the people in the room.

In my panic, I hadn't looked to see just how many people were in the room. All I could perceive was a chaotic mass of men and women.

I had thought that perhaps there might be some kind-hearted soul among them who would lend me a hand. But before I had a chance to decipher the crowd, the shock of a slap across my face jolted me from my thoughts, "How dare you burst into this room asking for help? You have ruined our mood, and even ten lives won't be enough to compensate for that!”

Just great! Out of the frying pan and into the fire!

Only then did I look up to see the face of the person who had smacked me. A ferocious scar ran from his forehead to his chin. He was glaring intimidatingly at me, his hand raised to strike again.

Instinctively, I tried to dodge, but failed. The smack left me dizzy.

Before I could recover, he raised his hand again.

"Stop! You come here!" A voice that was exceptionally cold, rich with magnetism, and filled with an air of murder stopped both the scar-faced man and me in our tracks.

I raised my head to look in the direction from where the voice had originated.

In the dim light, his face was not completely distinct, but the cold aura radiating from him made me shudder involuntarily.

"You, Are you calling me?" As I hesitated whether to approach him, a loud noise resonated from the door. It had been kicked down with a bang.

A tall, thin man, draped in an air of menace, rushed up to me, grabbed my hand, and started dragging me away.

"Jiang Kun!" The cold-seeming figure hiding in the shadows uttered these two words. On hearing them, the tall, lean man froze. When he turned back, his face was etched with terror.

So, this tall, thin man was called Jiang Kun, and it seemed he was quite afraid of the person in the shadows.

I suddenly saw a glimmer of hope then. Taking advantage of Jiang Kun's shock, I shook off his hand, dashed into the shadows, and grabbing the man's sleeve, looked up at him with a pitiful gaze. With a desolate plea, I implored, "Help me!"

My heart was hanging by a thread; right now, this man held my life in his hands. Just a word from him could spare me from Jiang Kun.
