Rise Of The Sacrificial Princess

Introduction
Princess Alexandra of the Griffin Kingdom; a throwaway character made in the hit novel series "The Charming Prince" for the sake of elevating the Prince's character. A character who was a caged bird, whom the prince showed the light to. And the person who was mercilessly thrown away by the writer once he felt like the hero needed a reason to get revenge. Although all of this seemed silly writing to me when I was reading this bizarre story back in the day, I couldn't think of it in the same way since I became this sacrificial princess. What will happen to me now that I'm faced with this immense predicament? Will anyone help me or will I have to battle this all alone?

"Your highness, you can't be doing this!" Someone was knocking on the door as if it was the end of the world.

I was terrified. I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know why this strange person was knocking at the door of my… It was at that point that I realized that it wasn't even my room. Everything around me was so… Pricey looking.

When I realised that it wasn't my room to begin with, the first thing that I speculated was about me being kidnapped. But looking back at it, that didn't make one bit of sense, since I had nothing to offer. My brain was rotten and my parents had no money to offer. Hell, they would be happy if they were to know that I was kidnapped.

Anyhow, contrary to what I thought initially, I kinda realised that the probability of me being kidnapped is less than what I thought up initially. The reason for that being what I said before—I offer neither intellectual nor monetary value. And no kidnapper would place the kidnapped individual in such a fancy room.

Words can't properly describe how fancy that room was. I mean, from the mediaeval look of the room to the gold-plated stuff all around, it was a treat to look at. Like, I would believe you if you said that I was reincarnated or something…

It was at that moment that I hurried myself towards the extravagant mirror placed on the wall. I couldn't explain it any other way. This was not a place that could be seen in the place that I lived in. Which meant that something freaky happened.

And I was right about that. The person that I saw right before me in the mirror wasn't me. I mean, it was me, but it wasn't… It seemed like I had taken control of someone else's body. Someone who looked infinitely better than myself. Like, I don't usually say stuff like this, but this woman… She was a treat to look at. At that point, I understood why extremely beautiful people found themselves staring in the mirror for an extremely long period of time.

Although it was fun staring at this person's face, there were more pressing matters in front of me. Who is this person? Why is someone bashing at my door? What happened to her? What happened to me? Why am I so calm in the midst of all the pandemonium?

Everything was going just fine in my life. Although it wasn't freaking perfect as I would have wanted, I was finding a foothold for myself in this tough battle that life placed in front of me. I was finally this close to being independent. I found myself a job that suited me. I was gonna be a free bird. But what happened? All of a sudden, all those dreams of mine came crashing down and now I'm stuck here. I don't even know what to do now.

I mean, this is not the first time that I have experienced failure of sorts, but this is the first time that the entirety of my life's work came crashing down on me like this. Like, nothing you did until that point doesn't matter. How is that fair? What about this woman's body that I have occupied? What if she had grand dreams as well? What if me gaining control over her body destroys what she was dreaming as well? Would I be able to forgive myself? I don't think so.

I'm aware that there's no use dwelling in the past and you should be able to look into the future with what you got, but I don't know what I got! The only piece of information that I have is that I have taken over someone else's body. Although I have already speculated that this could be somewhat like a transmigration that I usually read in novels, there's no definite proof behind that theory.

I tried snooping around as well, but that didn't help much either. There wasn't anything personal there. No mementos, no photos, no painting. There was stuff, but it seemed like this person didn't have a personal life at all and that seemed weird as hell.

And all of this meant that there was just one thing that I could do. I had to open the door and let in whoever it was that was banging on my door.

However, it didn't seem practical at all to me. I mean, how am I supposed to believe in someone who is banging at the door as if they want to kill me or something? They could be an assassin sent to kill me, you know?

But, since there was literally nothing for me to work on, I decided to take this massive risk and open that door.

Before me was this woman who was either cosplaying as a maid like in those maid cafes or she was an actual maid. The former sounded crazy, so I decided to believe in the most logical answer.

"Your highness! You finally answered!" The woman looked extremely happy by the fact that I opened the door, which seemed quite weird. Another thing that I noticed was that she used 'Your highness' on me, which meant I was some sort of big-shot. Or maybe it's just the way that people talked to each other, but yet again, that sounded impractical.

Just when I thought that I had traversed through one of the biggest challenges that I had to face, I realised that it was simply just the beginning.

One of the biggest things that I forgot about was that I sucked at small talk. I mean, the only person that I talked to in my previous life was my best friend and even that was quite difficult for me. And now, for me to talk to someone that I have no idea about is just baffling to even think about. Yet, I had no choice. Just this one time in my life, I had to take a stance for the better.
