Introduction
A car accident forever changed the fate of a pair of twin sisters. Anne Morse, originally meant to study abroad, was compelled by her mother to marry into the influential Wilcox family as a substitute for her unconscious sister. The very same day Anne discovered her pregnancy, she mustered the courage to hand Elliot Wilcox a divorce agreement. Aware that the Wilcox family would never allow her to keep the child, she decided to leave the city before her growing belly became a telltale sign. However, her loveless husband forbade her from leaving. It turned out that he was aware of the switch all along. "Why do you think I keep you by my side?" "Your sister can no longer conceive." "So... Until you bear a healthy child, don't even consider leaving."

"Miss Morse, you are indeed pregnant."

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Anne felt an inexplicable dull ache in her heart.

Holding the diagnosis report in her hand that was slightly trembling, she softly spoke.

"Could you please check again for me?"

The doctor gave Anne a strange look, his face reflecting an awkward smile.

"Miss Morse, if you don't believe it, you could get a checkup at a big hospital."

Upon hearing this, Anne's face turned pale. She replied apathetically.

"No need."

Saying so, she stood up, casually tossing the diagnosis report into the trash bin and left without looking back.

...

Jasmine Villa.

Anne step into the living room and was immediately hit by a cold gaze.

The man, on the verge of stepping out, looked intensely at the woman who had just entered the door, and asked in a low voice.

"Where were you?"

His gaze burned into her, causing Anne to feel a moment of panic.

Anne took a deep breath in silence, lifted her gaze to meet the man's eyes, hesitated for a long time, then spoke.

"Elliot, let's get a divorce," she said.

Upon her words, the atmosphere immediately quieted down.

Only after a brief moment, a deep laugh from the man broke the temporary silence.

"Running a high fever, aren't you? Talking nonsense so early in the morning."

As he spoke, he naturally reached out to check her forehead, his face looked as if he was concerned about her illness.

Anne was irritated by his inexplicable gentleness. She briskly waved his hand away and stared solemnly at him.

"I've prepared the divorce agreement. Just sign it after you read it."

She said and pulled out the newly printed divorce agreement from her bag and passed it to the man. Her fingertips trembled slightly.

Elliot reached out and took the divorce agreement. The smile at the corner of his mouth gradually disappeared. His eyes scanned over the divorce agreement and nonchalantly crumpled it into a ball.

"The consequences of divorcing me are not something you can bear. Have you thought it through?"

His stare was intense, looking deeply at her.

Anne nodded determinedly, staring seriously at the man in front of her.

"I have thought it through."

After she finished speaking, as if she feared he wouldn't believe it, she added.

"I've thought it through very clearly."

Her demeanor didn't seem as if she was throwing a tantrum at all. Upon hearing her, the man's gaze instantly turned cold.

"Just because you've made up your mind doesn't mean it's done deal."

He said, throwing the crumpled paper onto Anne, then passed by her with obvious dissatisfaction, his voice cold.

"Let's discuss it when I've thought things through."

Seeing that the man was about to leave, Anne reached out and grabbed his arm, her voice urgent.

"Elliot, I know you don't love me."

"And I also know you've brought a woman back from abroad, she is in the Berlin hospital right now."

"Our marriage is not ideal. Letting me go is also a favor to yourself, isn't it?"

She looked sincerely at Elliot, trying to convince the unmoved man in front of her.

Because of the nervousness, there was a thin layer of sweat on her palms.

Elliot looked down at her from a higher position, his deep eyes slightly narrowed.

"What else do you know?"

Anne was stunned.

She seldom got involved in Elliot’s personal matters. She had learned about these things unintentionally when she overheard the conversation between the butler and Elliot as she passed the study.

At the moment, the man's eyes staring at her were as cold as ice.

"If you don't know, let me tell you. Since she's back, I will definitely not let you go."

Anne, with a shocked face, almost reflexively asked.

"Why?"
