"Rizza I've been looking at Chico's file and nothing seems to be making sense. How come such a notorious guy has committed so many crimes yet all alone. Is he invisible? No family, wife is deceased,no kids, no relatives. This guy is a complete mystery. I'm starting to think he completely left these traces around because he knew that once we've arrested him, we'll go looking for them and use them against him.... What's your plan Chico?"

Thomàs was running out of things to say. It's been months since he's been working on this case and he hasn't been making progress at all. Every lead he follows puts him straight to the wolves, not that it is a problem after he's infamous case that took him 2 years to solve. No one ever forgets how he shut down the most notorious, yet dangerous drug lord mafia in Mexico. However this time, he seems to be doomed; everytime he's one step ahead he realizes that actually he's two steps behind. The big question remained though, how is Chico's file so innocent?

"Thomàs I think this is it man, Chico couldn't do anything while he's still in prison. Besides it would take a lot of work plus a lot of money to make that kind of information disappear. Do you possibly think that Chico would go around telling people that they mustn't talk about him. It's just totally barbaric; and to think that people would agree to that is just insane. Thomàs I know you don't want me saying this but we're done; unfortunately this is our dead end", said Rizza softly. She always referred to Thomàs as her big brother but everyone knew there was more, although the two didn't want to conform but the signs were there. Last year they even went on a vacation in Scotland but they immediately returned because apparently the 'weather was too cold' and Rizza had caught some flue, but rumor has it that Thomàs's ex-wife found about it and some things never change. Everyone in the workplace knew how much power Thomàs's ex-wife has over him. Even though they're divorced, she still finds some nasty way to crawl back in his life and ruin things for him. Lucky enough Thomàs always has been good at his job and that's the one thing she can never ruin.

"Rizza I get that you're trying to be civil here, but let's look at this one more time, I'm sure there's some piece of information that we may have overlooked. Let's check at his bank records ; maybe he's been transferring money into a private account. Or he's some part of a big mob that's trying to mess up with people's lives, I mean he", before he could finished.

"Are you seriously hearing yourself Thomàs, where did he or would get the money? The guy has been unemployed for 12 years, and has been in and out of prisons before and afterwards. So where would he get the money? You are getting paranoid by the minute and I don't blame you. Take Wednesday for instance you came in late, asked Greg for coffee and shouted at him for minutes for merely being late. You're always grumpy, moody. Incase you've wondered that's not coming from me, everyone in the workplace has noticed ," Rizza intervened.

"So you mean to tell me that they think that I'm..." motioning his hands, "they seriously think that I'm losing it? Wow this place really is a mess."

"Thomàs!" whispered Rizza. Thomàs was clearly out of his mind but he knew that he was onto something, he just had to figure it out. One thought kept visiting his mind but no! He couldn't do that, he wouldn't put his career on the line like that. Perhaps Rizza is right, he thought;this is just another dead end. I just have to face the music, and the agonizing fact was that with this subtle evidence Chico would be released from prison. There's really no substantial evidence on him. This perhaps was one of Thomàs's greatest disappointments. If all of this could be made to look real and evidence is convincing enough then we'll do just fine, he thought. Empty thoughts, those were, everyone knew how principled Thomàs is and how scared he is to go back to his old self before he became an officer but little did he knew what lay on the other side of fear.

21:30 on the eastern side of Barcelona, just two blocks away from town, there she was standing and leaning on the balcony. She had arrived five days ago and booked a room in the finest hotel.
