In a place where dark and sorrows live, a girl named Narina sat on the edge of the river where she watch the water flows all the way to the waterfall. She always have this curiosity with what's down the river but no one can ever go down there because ancient says it is cursed. If you jump in there, you will die or you will end up into another world where you will get killed.
She has doubts that the stories are the truth. Hence, she is sick of living up here where she was born and raised her whole life just to catch fishes for a living and go into the woods to interact with the locals.
She wanted more and she wanted to experience more. She walked all the way to the end of the river by slowly stepping on the big stones that is placed on the river and before she was about to jump , a voice interrupted her.
"Narina you get away from there this instance!" Her mother scolded her.
She sighed just to look back at her mother, "Fine." She lazily dragged herself with a sad pout. Her mother grabbed her wrist and she followed her mother all the way to their small but comfortable and cozy cottage.
"Feed the pigs and can you not mess around at the river, it is very dangerous there." Her mother warned with her hands on her hips. She nodded without any interest in listening to her mother.
Her mother knew that the king should put a barrier or a wall at the river so that the people won't go near it and eventually vanished after they fell into the river but the king will never built such things to protect his people because they throw the criminals and the people who doesn't obey him in there.
Narina sighed while feeding the pigs some apples and smashed potatoes. "I wonder what life is like after I jump in there piggy?" She murmured to the pig.

"Narina! Joel is waiting for you to get those supplies from yesterday. Go get dress and meet him at the barn." Her mother yelled while she was still sleeping in her bed. She pinched the bridge of her nose and managed to get up and get changed.
Narina lived with her mother ever since her father got thrown in the river, her father was accused of a crime he didn't do but until now no one has relevant proofs to show the king that her father was innocent.
She was five years old when that happened but she knows that she misses her father.
"Joel, I'm here." Narina greeted Joel, a boy who is basically madly in love with her. They grew up together and they do a lot of things together such as studying, feeding the animals and taking the supplies from the farmers.
Joel is a kind boy who is filled with intelligence, he wanted to be someone who invent things in the future when he is older.
Both of them are still seventeen so that means they need to obey and respect their parents. "We will turn eighteen next year, don't you think it's exciting?!" Joel said and Narina nodded. Narina never seem to fond or obsessed about celebrating her birthday because all she could think of is jumping into the waterfall, what's down there preoccupy her mind.
After getting the supplies to their parents, Narina took Joel to the edge of the river as they stare at the clear blue sky. Silence filled their surroundings and Joel couldn't help but tried to take this chance to hold her hand but the minute he tried to do that. Narina started talking.
"Have you ever wonder what happened if we jump down there?" She asked him as she look over at him.
He raised a brow, "You know we can't do that, you know what happened to your father.." Narina cut him off by saying, "Don't even mention about him." She said and Joel instantly mute himself because he forgot that it triggered her whenever he brings her father up in a conversation.
