Taking a sip of the tequila I had grown addicted to, well OK I live with my parents so juice it is then. I look out, watching the night view as I play out what happened two years ago.

  Wednesday, December 26 2018

"Shush" I cautioned my little brother's screams as we unpacked our bags in our hotel room.

My dad had booked a presidential suite with three rooms. He and mom in one, I in the other and junior in the last but I trust junior to always find ways to make my life miserable. He insisted that he couldn't sleep alone and wouldn't sleep with anyone but me. To be honest, my mom and dad wouldn't let him in their room even if he begged so their only option was me.

Don't look at me like that. There is no way am letting him in my room.

My parents had painted me out to be that adorable big sister that would always give in no matter what and I couldn't bear to shatter their image of me so I just gritted my teeth and agreed to let him sleep.

It's my fifteenth birthday tomorrow, and we are out on a vacation in Hawaii to celebrate it.

My birthday wish last year was to go on a trip to Hawaii and my parents said they had to make it come true this year. It's like a tradition that I have gotten used to over the years.

Last year, we went on a family trip to Disneyland and honestly I felt so in love with the place that I cried when we were about to leave. To make it up to myself, I promised me a trip to Hawaii but there is no way am going alone so with the family it is then.

The whole birthday wish thing started when I turned five. On my fifth birthday my dad had asked me if I felt different, and I replied no. Then he asked " do you have a wish?" Back then I hadn't known that birthday wishes were supposed to stay secret, but I said what I wished for anyways.

"I want a veryyyy huge play house that I, koko and Whitney can play in" The next weekend, my dad made me one and said

"The fairy of wishes has granted your wish"

Even though I had found out when I was ten or so that there was no fairy of wishes and that my dad had just been buying me those things, I still played dumb and kept getting the things I desperately needed on my birthdays.

   Present

Dropping my traveling box on the bed, I picked out a set of bikini and overall that I had purchased with shayne when we went out shopping, before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.

Just the thought of walking down the beach, the fresh air, the water and the view was enough to make my day.

  .....

"whew" I took in a breath of fresh air as I close my eyes, reveling in the feeling of being free. Country music was being played and some ladies with leaflike things wrapped around their hips, hanging on them like skirts, choreographed to the tunes. The hotel we lodged in always host a little party every evening which lasts till dusk for tourists so it is no surprise that it is crowded by the time I got there.

I didn't know when my lips parted as I grinned from ear to ear. As a kid, I had always been obsessed with Disney, and Moana, Barbie and Frozen were my favorite, but when I entered high school, my friends would say it is for kids and always mock me when I bring them up. Then one day, I got upset and burnt down all my CD's and merchandise in the fear of being seen as uncool. I had had sleepless nights after but after some time, I got over it.

I was in the middle of reminiscing when I accidentally bumped into someone. He had a cup of wine in hand which after the contact bathed me from my chest to toe.

I looked down at my body that was now dripping with wine and grind my teeth. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!

Fuming from anger, I look up and was about to curse at him when I took a glimpse of his face. Sharp Jaws, small eyes, a pointed nose and rosy lips. All in all, he looked very attractive and I couldn't help but be drawn to his looks. He was saying something that I didn't quite figure out because all my attention was now on his face.

I watched his back as he turned around to leave and I screamed continously in my head, at the same time wondered how someone as good-looking as him existed.

The most interesting part is that he bumped into me!! He freaking bumped into me!! Shayne would be so jealous if I told her. Ha...

I couldn't hide my joy as I kept thinking about the incident. Just the thought of him was enough to give me butterflies and I had to slap myself multiple times to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Right after the little 'accident', I went back to the hotel to take a shower and my thoughts continuously drifted back to him till I fell asleep on the couch.

  ..

"Woah mummy that was so cool. Can we stay here every day? Please?" I was woken by junior's whines and I opened my eyes and rubbed it afterwards.

"You didn't leave the house" my mom asked as she tied her bathrobe. "You missed out on a lot of fun"

If fun is watching my dad and mom do dumb things while they blushed, grinned, and embarrass each other including me, then I'll pass.

Speaking of blush, I remember what happened earlier today and my cheeks went hot. Thinking back, I had really acted stupid watching him like that. I wonder what he would think about me now. Urrgh

"Chill. She must have gone out. Her slippers has some beach sand on it. Looks like someone had a good time without us" my dad teased in his detective like manner and I groaned, walked to my room and buried myself under the duvet. Stop thinking about him, you dummy.

I could still hear their voice in the background but not as loud as I would have if I were with them. Perfect, I thought as my mind wandered off.

  ..

A week rolled by, and it was finally time to leave. We were in the private car owned by the hotel on our way to the airport.

I sat with my earpiece on even though no music was playing. My mom and dad were arguing about the language they had just 'learned' as the both of them had spent their week taking boring language lessons and believe me, it isn't pleasant to hear them spit gibberish claiming it's some new language.

Junior on the other hand, was busy playing a new video game that just dropped yesterday. The game literally stopped the world as the internet was buzzing with how awesome and fun it is. Of course, I don't have it on my phone, the reason being that I literally hate all video games in general, even I don't know the reason why.

The only games I have on my phone are dress up games and I have grown bored by it over the years. I only play it whenever am in a bad mood and now is one of the times.

After that day, I had gone to the beach multiple times throughout the week but have never seen the "Guy that took my breath away" as I loved to call him again.

To my utmost displeasure, the driver turned off the engine as he parked the car in the parking lot and waited till we said our goodbyes before leaving.

  Bye Hawaii

  ....

I inhaled the fresh year of New York city as we got out of the airport. The outside was crowded which isn't unusual being the holidays given that just like us, every one wants to have fun in somewhere new.

But the confusing part is that they were all together in one spot moreover they didn't look like they have a flight to catch because majority of them were carrying cameras and microphones and by the looks of it they were reporters.

"Oh my God daddy, it is Edward Jones!!" Junior shouted from behind me with excitement written all over his face.

"Who is Edward Jones?" I asked him and he made a face like he was trying to say 'Are you even alive' and was about to talk when my dad beat him to it.

"Get your luggage inside the booth, I still have some things to settle in the office so you'd better make it quick"

I nod my head and did as instructed before getting in the back seat with Junior. Although I tried my best to not ask, my curiosity still got the best of me so I leaned in and whispered in his ear.

  "Who is Edward Jones?"

"He is a movie star. His movies are soooooo cool. I want to be like him someday"

  ....

The car stopped at a red light and my mind drifted off to places. That perfect face appeared in my mind once again and I look out the window still in a trance when a car stopped beside ours.

I caught the side view of the person in the passenger seat before I could even look away and I think the face looked quite familiar? I shifted to take a good look and was surprised by the who it turned out to be. The wine guyyyy?

"Oh my God mommy look it is Edward!! Edward!! Edward! I love you so much am a fan of yours. Edward! EDWARD! I want to be like you" At this point junior was already on my laps, banging the window as he tried to get his attention but was interrupted when the light turned green and the car drove away.

I watched as his car disappeared from sight and I shuddered from my realization. Wait so The wine guy is the legendary EDWARD JONES!!
