"Where is this? Didn't I die?"

Philbert Marshman opened his eyes and looked around the living room filled with piles of garbage, his eyebrows tightly knitted.

He got up and scrutinized his surroundings, the more he looked, the more familiar they became.

Subconsciously, he was reminded of the past events, especially the guilt he felt towards his wife and daughter.

Just as he was reminiscing, the door of the dilapidated house was forcefully pushed open, and a five-year-old girl rushed in, hugging his thigh, and began to cry.

"Daddy, Ella pleads with you, please don't quarrel with Mommy anymore? Ella doesn't want to leave you, and I don't want to see you and Mommy separated."

Hearing these familiar words, Philbert was emotionally overwhelmed.

Ella?

Didn't Ella already die?

Philbert squatted down and held the little girl tightly in his arms.

It was when he felt his daughter's warmth that he confirmed...

He had been reborn!

He had returned to fifty years ago!

When none of the tragedies had happened.

"Ella, come here!"

At that moment, Mandy Reeves, dressed in a dress, appeared at the door.

She was a woman of both exceptional looks and temperament. But excessive work and the hardships of life had led her to prematurely grow haggard.

Seeing her, Philbert was momentarily struck dumb.

This woman was the love of his life, yet he had not cherished her as he should have.

Now, as he was reborn, he felt as if there were thousands of unsaid words in his heart, but didn't know where to start.

In his previous life, he had lived to be seventy-five, but he was plagued by guilt for fifty years!

If it hadn't been for his damn foolishness, his wife, Mandy, and daughter, Ella, would not have died tragically!

Initially, he craved for death to end his suffering. But after reading a letter left by his wife, he was consumed by desperation.

Mandy had only one request - that after her death, she would have nothing more to do with Philbert. She would rather have her body left in the wild to be devoured by wild beasts than be dealt with by him.

Upon reading this letter, the regret that Philbert felt was intensifying. He was the scoundrel who pushed his wife to a point where, even in death, she wouldn't forgive him!

For the next fifty years, Philbert reformed himself, shunning all of his bad habits and began to strive to build a career.

However, he was always alone because he could not forget his past.

On his deathbed, he pleaded desperately to the heavens, hoping for a chance to atone.

Unexpectedly, the heavens really gave him a chance!

"Ella, come here!"

Mandy commanded, her gaze at Philbert was filled with resentment, dissatisfaction, and even scorn!

Ella hesitated but was forcibly pulled by Mandy to her side.

"Mandy…"

"Don’t call me!" Mandy roared, "Philbert, if you still have a little bit of affection left for me, then sign the divorce papers, let me and Ella live the second half of our lives in peace, will you!?"

Philbert could see that Mandy was at her limit, on the verge of a breakdown.

It was all his fault!

"In the past, I trusted you so much, willing to work hard and endure hardship together. But now I was wrong, my parents were right, you're simply a loser!"

Mandy yelled in despair; Philbert stood on the spot, silent.

He recalled how many rich and handsome men had relentlessly pursued Mandy, while he was nothing but a poor student at that time.

Yet Mandy chose him, because she admired Philbert's talent, his dedication to work, she was willing to build a future with him.

To avoid the pressure of arranged marriage from her family, she secretly got married to Philbert, causing a great strain with her family.

However, after a failed investment, Philbert seemingly become a different person.

He began to drink and gamble all day and night, neglecting his family, he even stole baby Ella’s formula money for gambling.

Because of this, Mandy and Philbert had a big fight, in the end, Philbert slapped Mandy, knocking her stupid.

Even so, Mandy still didn't leave Philbert, hoping she could influence him to bounce back.

However, his actions became even more severe, senselessly abusing and hitting her, causing their life together to become a complete mess.

Mandy's feelings for Philbert initially were of admiration, but they have now transformed into hatred.

She deeply regreted her past decisions now, and for the sake of her daughter Ella, she must sever ties with Philbert!

"Mandy, I know I was wrong in the past. I dare not ask for your forgiveness, but could you give me one more chance to make it up to you and our daughter?"

Philbert pleaded desperately.

"Give you a chance? How many chances have I given you before? When have you ever changed? I beg you, for Ella’s sake, please leave us alone!"

Mandy just wanted to get away from Philbert now. Even if it meant Ella would grow up in a single-parent family, she must do so.

As a single-parent family, at least Ella and she would survive.

If they stayed with Philbert, he may even sell them out for money one day!

Philbert watched Mandy, who had made up her mind, and slightly bit his lower lip.

He didn't resent Mandy's ruthlessness, but hated himself for not taking proper care of them as a father and husband should.

At this moment, a flurry of heavy footsteps echoed, and then, a dozen rugged men walked into Philbert's shabby house.

The man in the lead sneered at Philbert and said, "Oh, looks like the whole family is here!"

"Who are you?"

Upon seeing a group of menacing figures, Mandy quickly pulled Ella behind her and coldly asked.

"Is it any of your business? We're here for Philbert!"

The leading man sneered at Mandy, then stuck out his tongue and licked his lips. Scared, Mandy subconsciously took a step back.

"Heh heh, interesting."

The man in charge, after having enough amusement, turned back to Philbert, "Philbert, you thought you could hide from us, huh? You owe us 300,000 plus the overdue interest of 100,000 making it a total of 400,000. When are you going to pay back?"

"He owes you 400,000?"

Mandy pointed at Philbert with a surprised face.

"That's right! Oh, you must be his wife. If Philbert can't pay, how about you do it for him?"

The leading man smirked devilishly and approached Mandy.

"Stop!"

Philbert yelled, "The money is my debt. If you dare to harm my wife, I will take you down with me even at the cost of my life!"

Saying this, Philbert pulled out the dagger hidden in the sofa, ready to fight.

In his previous life, his relationship with Mandy had reached a point of no return starting from this debt collection event.

At that time he was timid and fearful, watching Mandy being harassed by the creditors without the courage to fight back. In the end, it was Mandy who agreed to repay the debt and they left.

Since then, apart from taking care of her daughter Ella, Mandy had been working day and night, resulting in exhaustion, a car accident, and a tragic death.

Now that he has been given a second chance at life, the tragedy of his past life must not happen again!
