Chapter 1

On a bright morning, the sound of birds chirping sounded beautiful as if they were singing in the sky. Sadie woke up from a deep sleep, this 26 year old girl always wakes up in the morning to start her day.

Sadie was still standing by her window after opening the curtains so that sunlight could enter her small but very comfortable room.

She tied her hair before opening the window and feeling the cool morning air while smiling with her eyes closed.

"Sadie, breakfast is ready," The voice alerted Sadie and made her immediately clean herself and leave her room.

"Okay Grandma, I'm coming," Sadie said.

Sadie only lived in a simple building alone with her grandmother. When she was 10 years old, Sadie's parents divorced and left the girl alone at her grandmother's place.

"Morning," Sadie greeted her grandmother, Mia, who was waiting at the dining table. She kissed her grandmother on the cheek before sitting in front of her.

“Morning Sadie,” Mia said.

“You said we had run out of eggs and milk, but what is this?” Sadie said, but the grandmother just smiled and she realized that Mia no longer wore the gold necklace around her neck.

“No, are you selling your necklace?” Sadie said.

"It's okay, it's just a necklace. Besides, you promised to buy me a new necklace. You didn't like my necklace, so I sold it," Mia said.

"Grandma, that's yours, even though it's a very old model, it's yours and I'm sure it was a gift from your husband, why are you selling it? I'll ask my boss for cash and reimburse you for the eggs and milk," Sadie said.

"Save the money for you, you need it for your future, so don't give me a cent, I don't need money or jewelry, I'm old Sadie, you need all that more," Mia said and Sadie just exhaled after hearing her grandmother's advice.

"Okay, I promise, I will work hard to make you happy, I'm sure you're bored of just eating eggs and milk, I'll bring meat for dinner," Sadie said and Mia just smiled looking at her granddaughter in front of her.

Mia loves Sadie, she has been taking care of Sadie since she was little, they have lived together for 16 years and since then, they only have each other.

After washing the dirty dishes, Sadie returned to her room to prepare to go to the flower shop near her house. She worked as a cashier there, the salary was not big but the boss was very kind to her and her grandmother.

‘Knock…knock…’

"Come in," Mia said and Sadie went into her grandmother's room.

"Do you want to go now?" Mia said.

“Yes, I will go now, are you okay, Grandma?” Sadie sat next to Mia who was sitting on her bed.

“Of course, go, say hello to Mrs. Piper,” Mia said.

"Okay, I love you, Grandma," Sadie kissed her grandmother's forehead before leaving.

She came out of her house, and the building stood out among the other buildings, not because of its luxury but precisely because of the simplicity of the house.

The government wants to buy the land but Mia refuses, she only has the house as a treasure that she will give to Sadie someday.

It didn't take long for Sadie to arrive at her place of work, Piper Florist. It only took her 15 minutes to get there, and the shop owner immediately welcomed her.

“Morning, Sadie,” Piper said.

“Morning, Mrs. Piper, get greetings from my grandma," Sadie said and immediately helped Piper look at the flowers outside the shop.

"Ah yes I have something for your grandma, yesterday my daughter Sharon's 3rd birthday, we had dinner and made turkey for you and your grandma, bring it when you get home," Piper said.

“Turkey? Wow, I've never tried that, thank you, Mrs. Piper,” Sadie said.

"Don't mention it, come in and change into your uniform before work," Piper said and walked into the shop.

Sadie is very grateful because she worked for the right person, even though Sadie's dream was to become a doctor, she had to end up in front of the cashier at a flower shop.

That day, the shop was not as busy as usual, maybe because it was Monday. Sadie was the only worker there, even previously Piper did everything alone.

Sadie is checking the flowers in the refrigerator, she has to calculate the available stock with what is in the ledger.

Until the bell at the entrance rang, Sadie was very happy because it was a sign that a customer had arrived.

Sadie immediately went to the cashier and saw a soaking wet man standing there. Sadie was very confused and didn't stop looking at the man before looking out the window to make sure it wasn't raining outside.

“Morning sir, how can I help you? What flower are you looking for? Do you want a bucket, or—”

“I want to go to the toilet,” The man said coldly.

“Excuse me?” Sadie said.

"Toilet, where is the toilet," The man said.

"I'm sorry sir, but you can't use the toilet here," Sadie said softly, but her words were met with a sharp gaze from the man.

“Sir? Are you okay?” Sadie said.

“I have to go to the toilet now,” The man said.

"But-"

“Show me where the toilet is!” The man shouted at Sadie and startled her, the man's scream made Piper come, and was surprised to see the man come.

"What is this?" Piper said.

"Oh, I'm sorry Mrs. Piper but this man insisted on going to the toilet," Sadie said.

“Hunter? What are you doing here?" Piper walked over to them.

"Who's she?" The man called Hunter said.

“She’s my worker, Sadie, and what are you doing here? Come with me,” Piper said and immediately brought Hunter inside.

This confused Sadie even more, she also saw wet footprints on the floor making her sigh and quickly clean them before other customers arrived.

Piper took him to the second floor, where she and her family lived, Piper gave Hunter dry clothes and gave him a piece of bread and milk.

"What are you doing here?" Piper said.

"Where is your husband?" Hunter said.

"He didn't come home last night, I don't know where he is, what's wrong?" Piper said.

“Yeah that's because that bastard was busy making out with the omega bitch at the bar,” Hunter said.

"Hunter, please, don't say things like that, I know he's not a good husband for me but he's a good father for Sharon," Piper said.

“Good father you say? Are you crazy? He even missed his daughter's birthday last night," Hunter said.

“Okay forget about him, what happened to you? Why are you all wet like this?” Piper said.

"He came back, he told his men to chase me and I had to hide in the sewers to avoid him," Hunter said.

"You're not getting anything done if you keep avoiding him, at least go to him and tell him what you want," Piper said.

"He's your father, you know best what kind of Alpha he is," Hunter said.

“You are just like him, you are very stubborn, and can you solve your problems without involving me this time?” Piper said.

"Let me stay here for a while, I'll go back to my apartment once it's safe," Hunter said.

“Do you think this place is safe for you? He'll have his men come here soon to look for you," Piper said.

“Aish! Why does that damn old man keep chasing me, isn't he tired of asking me to marry that stupid Omega?" Hunter said and Piper just laughed before refilling Hunter's empty glass with milk.
