Introduction
Seven years of blind love brought Lylah nothing but cold indifference and ruthless torment. When the man she once adored shattered her spirit, she did the unthinkable — she scarred the face he claimed to love the most and walked away without a second glance. Five years later, she's no longer the naive girl begging for his affection. She’s the powerful CEO of The Ocean Group of Companies — untouchable, radiant, and the woman every man dreams of marrying. But behind her flawless facade lies a secret… one that ties her to the very man she swore to forget. At the company’s annual gala, Silas traps Lylah against the wall, his gaze dark and possessive. But she only smirks, tapping a finger against his chest. “President Silas, laying your hands on a married woman in public… doesn’t look too good, does it?” He always knew she was beautiful — but he never realized she was like a deadly poppy flower. Alluring. Dangerous. And hiding a secret that could destroy them both. Now, Silas wants answers. Lylah wants revenge. But when the truth unravels, will they survive the storm that follows?

"Clara, Clara..."

His eyes were blurry and he was drunk. Despite being on top of her, the name he was muttering was that of another woman.

From the moment she agreed to marry him, she thought she knew the end point of it all. But, now, all her vain hopes were finally shattered and scattered.

He didn't love her. He just wanted a suitable marriage partner.

And she obviously, was just that suitable woman.

Lylah closed her eyes, tears slipping down her cheeks.

----

"Lylah." On the next morning, while she was still trapped in her nightmare, the harsh voice woke her up.

Opening her eyes and looking at the neatly dressed man standing by the bed, she finally realized a fact.

She was already married, married to Silas, a man whom she had loved for seven years.

Silas, always as cold as an iceberg, had a look of disdain on his face. Looking at Lylah still lying in bed, his face scrunched up in disgust.

As Lylah propped herself up with one hand and sat up, the soreness from her body made her frown involuntarily.

Before she could regain her senses and speak, a box was thrown at her face, "Take it, I don't want any surprises."

Lylah stared blankly at the pillbox that had fallen next to her - they were contraceptive pills.

Biting her lower lip to hide her embarrassment, she forced a smile and looked up at Silas, "Of course I know, be rest assured, I will definitely take them."

"I will be rest assured when I see you take them." Silas replied, his voice laced with disgust, he made it clear that he did not trust her.

Lylah curled her lips. Then in front of him, she opened the medicine box, took the medicine from inside, and threw it into her mouth without hesitation, and then swallowed it.

"Now are you reassured, Silas Winter?" She looked at Silas with a hint of mockery in her voice.

Silas did not speak, he coldly glanced at her and briskly left the room.

As soon as he left, Lylah felt as though all her energy had been drained, she fell onto the bed, pulled up the quilt, buried herself under the covers, thinking of Silas's attitude. What should have been a joyful wedding night had ended up being something she'd never wish for.

Why was fate cruel to her?

Despite everyone's opposition, she insisted on marrying this man, was it just to let him humiliate her?

Seven years of effort, so insignificant and unworthy in his eyes.

Lylah's tears did not last long, soon she pulled herself together from her emotions, cleaned her tears, tidied up, carefully did her makeup, then put on high heels and left the Winter's house in a hurry to go to work.

She was not only Silas's wife, but also his personal assistant.

Yet, they were in a secret marriage, a relationship that needed to be concealed from their colleagues at work.

As she strode into the office, she hadn't even set down her things when she heard Silas's cold voice, "If you can't arrive at the company on time, then you might not need to come at all in the future."

Lylah's heart ached at his words.

This man was withdrawing his support faster than she could have imagined.

Lylah forced out a smile. "I'm sorry, Sir Winter, I just got married and was a bit tired last night, so I was a little late, it won't happen again."

Hearing Lylah's words, Silas squinted and his stare turned icy.
