Today, Lotus Hotel, the largest hotel in Langeloth, is bustling with excitement, all for the birthday party of Hilda, the second young miss of the Evan family.

Half of Langeloth's most prominent families have been invited to attend.

It is clear to see how much effort and resources the Evan family has put into organizing this gathering.

"I heard that the second miss from the Evan family is actually an illegitimate child. She's less than a year younger than the eldest Miss Evan, which means Mr. Hubery had an affair all those years ago..."

"True, if it weren't for the support from the maternal family of the first Mrs. Evan , Jane, there wouldn't be the prosperous Evan family of today."

"After Jane's death, Hubery quickly brought in his mistress and her daughter into the family, neglecting his older daughter, Alva. Isn't this intentional disregard for the feelings of the deceased?"

"The eldest Miss Evan is so pitiful..."

"Alas, there is a loss of former integrity..."

The several guests present have long been disgusted by Hubery's actions.

Yet, they can only whisper among themselves, not daring to confront him directly.

"Sister, the diamond necklace on your neck is so beautiful!" Hilda, having finished dressing up, came out of the room and noticed Alva's necklace, longing to possess it.

"Alva, today is your younger sister’s birthday. As her older sister, you should hurry up and take off your necklace to give to your sister."

Standing next to Hilda, Hubery, looking like a benevolent father, now spoke authoritatively.

"This is the birthday gift my mother gave me, why should I give it to her?"

Alva quickly raised her hand to cover the necklace on her neck, afraid that they might snatch it away.

"What your mother holds is not ours, we are family, why must we distinguish between you and me, quickly take it off."

Hubery was angered by Alva's subconscious actions, the rage in his eyes seemed to be on the verge of consuming her.

"Dad, I always had to watch out for Hilda, simply because I am a few days older than her? We are both humans for the first time, why should I let her have her way?"

This necklace was the last bit of dignity Alva had left ever since Hilda came to the Evan family.

Hubery had always told her about how much Hilda suffered and how much wronged she was outside the home.

Just because she said her room was nice, she had to give up her room where she had been staying since she was a kid, and there were countless things, she just stopped keeping tabs.

"What are you saying? Hilda is your sister, what’s wrong with you lending her your jewelry? Are you not afraid of being laughed at by others? Quickly, hand it over.”

Hubery stared impatiently at Alva, for he could never develop a fondness for this elder daughter of his who constantly goes against his wishes.

"Never mind then, father. If sister is so unwilling, then Hilda can just wear something else."

Hilda seemed to have a pure and innocent concession, but it was nothing more than showing off how generous and understanding she was, contrasting Alva's pettiness and rebelliousness.

"Such a disgrace. Hilda, next time Dad will buy you something even better."

Hubery, seeing that Alva was not budging, directly left with a doting expression on his face with Hilda, leaving a distraught Alva alone.

Alva took a deep breath, holding back the tears welling up in her eyes, and went to the room arranged by the Lotus Hotel for a respite.

"Miss, your fiancé Mr. Parker is here." Iris, who had always been serving as the housekeeper at Evan family, suddenly knocked on Alva’s room and said from outside the door.

"Okay, thank you, Iris." Alva sat up from the soft mattress, walked over to the mirror in the bathroom, adjusted her appearance, and happily went out to look for Parker.

Alva couldn't find the figure of Parker amidst the hordes of guests in the halls below, so she prepared to seek Iris for further information.

"Oh, it hurts... Parker, you hurt me." On her way to find Iris, Alva heard a very familiar voice.

"Really? What about this?" Alva intended to walk forward directly before hearing the voice of the boy. As soon as it sounded, she knew that there was no walking away for her.

The door was ajar, and thus, Alva could clearly hear the voices from the room. Trying hard to suppress her trembling, she slowly opened the door. The people in the room didn't notice another person walking in as they continued their jesting.

"Parker, do you prefer to sleep with sister or me?"

"Of course with you!" Parker answered without a second thought, as Alva's traditional mindset never allowed for anything else.

"No..... you are such a rascal... Parker, what if sister catches us?"

The body of Hilda, who was lying in Parker's arms, was all sweaty from exertion. Yet, she continued to test Parker's sincerity.

"Don't worry, babe. After I get my marriage certificate with that vulgar woman and willingly get her to hand over the inheritance left to her by her mother, I will divorce her and marry you, alright?"

As Parker was captivated by Hilda's enchanting figure. While speaking, he couldn't help but steal a kiss.

"Alright, then hurry up. But will sister willingly give you her inheritance?"

Hilda passionately responded to Parker, not forgetting to achieve her own interests.

"Of course, that woman will. As long as I pretend I need help with my company, I am sure she'll deliver the money in no time."

As for Alva's feelings for him, Parker was quite confident.

"Heh... Parker, Hilda, you cheating scoundrels, to even dare to covet the inheritance my mother left me, keep dreaming."

Alva stood by, unable to hold herself back any longer, appearing in front of the two of them.

"Alva? Let me explain..."

"Sister..."

Parker and Hilda were stared in astonishment, having not expected Alva to barge in at this juncture, and even overhearing the plan they’d just discussed.

"Shut up; you two are truly disgusting. Don’t even utter my name, and you don't deserve to be my fiancé. To want my mother's inheritance- you won’t get it in this lifetime.”

In this room filled with carnality, Alva felt it hard to breathe. She wanted to leave this place immediately.

The unclothed Parker attempted to get up and chase after Alva, yet could only wrap a bathrobe around himself from the bedside due to his state of undress.

Hilda, meanwhile, was still tightly clinging onto her covers, for fear of being seen by others.

Having quickly put on his bathrobe, Parker ran forward to stop Alva. While she struggled and ran, leading her to a balcony of a room across the street.

"Alva, run! Let's see where you can run to now." Parker looked at the cornered Alva with a satisfied smirk, delighting in her helpless, terrified expression.

"Parker, I'd rather die than to see you succeed." With that, Alva jumped directly off the balcony.
