Chapter 1

"Damn!" Edwin screeched in surprise.

"Shut up!"

"Let me go! Let me go! What are you doing, huh?!"

Edwin could only be silent and complied as the four men dragged him. Edwin felt his body limp without any power he felt if his body seemed to float. His feet felt not on the ground.

"What are you doing?! Please stop," said Edwin softly, but ignored by the four men.

"Shut up and don't talk much!" snapped one of them.

Edwin heard it quietly. Yes, for now he would rather be silent than have his body beaten up by them. In the end, Edwin nodded. Do you know if he's tired right now? He had just returned from a long trip, even taken somewhere.

Edwin frowned in bewilderment, when the four men had taken him to a house that looked luxurious and crowded at the same time, like there was a party.

Edwin was forced to pull up on the aisle. There, a girl sits with her face bent. He still didn't understand what was happening until the moment when both eyes accidentally stared. For a long time, they looked at each other, until Melati first cut off her gaze and turned to look the other way. A split second anyway, Melati's face turned bitchy. Edwin, who knew the girl a few years ago, could only stare incomprehensibly like a stup*d.

"What a look-see!" he said with an upset face while turning his face. Edwin who was basically a man who didn't have much just sighed heavily.

"If you don't want to be here, leave before you are forced to marry." Edwin heard it too. Some moments only decorated silence, until in the end the voice of leader wedding. Exclaim because the marriage contract will soon be implemented.

Edwin was again directed to sit in the chair next to where the girl was sitting. In front of him was already a middle-aged man whom Edwin knew was the father of the girl beside him.

"Well, the marriage contract will be implemented soon. How is the bride ready?" ask leader wedding while looking at Edwin.

Edwin who was stared at could only nod, he could not refuse. Especially when her mother was standing there feeling sad. Which mother will be calm to see her child forcibly married.

Moreover, Edwin came to the village to pick up his mother to return to the city with him, after the woman of his first love spent three years in the village in memory of her now deceased husband.

Three years ago, Ernawati together with her son and husband intend to vacation in her husband's village that has long been abandoned by him. Ill-fated while on the way, their car had an accident severe enough to make her husband-Amar died at the scene.

From that moment on, Erna did not want to return to the city and chose to settle herself in her husband's village.

For a moment, Edwin let out his breath. Nervously greeted him as his hands were clasped by the middle-aged male who was in front of him. After that, the Kabul diploma was carried out. Edwin himself is quite fluent when saying kabul sentences with one breath.

Immediately the exclamation of the word 'legitimate' echoed filling the room. Now Edwin and Melati have legally become husband and wife. The chief prayed, and was assured by all the guests. After that, the penghulu asked the two to sign other important papers, after which Melati was asked to kiss the back of her husband's hand.

Melati grabbed Edwin's hand reluctantly. Inwardly, Melati grumbled, annoyed. Unlike Melati, Edwin felt that there was something foreign that he was currently feeling. Something like an electric shock that made him crazy and strangely it happened when Melati, the woman who had become his wife kissed his hand.

"What do I think of this girl? No! It can't be this fast!" Edwin said in his heart. His mind refused but his mind accepted and concluded that he was indeed a touch of Melati making his chest flutter.

After kissing her husband's hand, Melati was surprised when he gave a kiss on her forehead. Melati glared unappreciatively. He growled inwardly wanting to vent his anger right then and there, but in a place like this it was certain that many guests would come. He could embarrass himself and his family, especially his father.

Edwin and Melati were led down the aisle. The wedding is decorated so beautifully, making the rays of happiness so clearly radiated. Although in fact, the two are a pair of adam's children who do not know each other and certainly do not love each other. Perhaps, if someone else saw it, they were such a harmonious couple. Edwin with his handsome face, and Melati with her beautiful face. So compatible.

The guests lined up and flocked to shake hands with the two newlyweds. They also gave their congratulations and prayers to both of them. They smiled sweetly and responded with forced thanks when they heard the words and prayers of the guests.

At eleven o'clock in the evening, the series of events at Edwin and Melati's wedding was over. The two went straight into the room to clean themselves and rest their bodies, because the series of events that so many make both exhausted. Especially Edwin who has just returned from a long trip.

Edwin was still in the bathroom to clean himself, after waiting for the person he asked for help to take the bag containing his needs. Meanwhile, Melati sits at her dressing table. Clean up the remnants of makeup that adorns her face. Removing all accessories attached to his head. His body was already so tired and wanted to rest immediately. However, it is impossible if she goes to bed without removing the accessories and changing her clothes.

Before long, Edwin came out of the bathroom with a fresh look on his face. His hair was still wet, dried with a small towel that was in his hands.

"You don't shower?" asked Edwin. He began to open the conversation, not wanting to feel the awkward atmosphere that was getting more and more tense.

'None of your business, you strange man,' murmured Melati inwardly.

Edwin looked at Melati who was still silent and did not seem to intend to answer the question she asked.

Without a word, Melati went into the bathroom. He was already tired and intended to go to bed immediately after cleaning his sticky body.

Twenty minutes later, Melati came out of the bathroom and had already changed into long, loose-looking maroon pajamas. After that he immediately went to bed where there was already Edwin who was playing his cellphone. Melati immediately filled the place, right beside Edwin. The man who became her husband.

Edwin cleared his throat before starting the conversation, while Melati who heard him only frowned in surprise.

"What is it?" Melati asked.

Edwin didn't talk, only this time he was in bed with a woman and it made him uncomfortable.

"Hey, what's your name? Why do you want to marry me? What exactly is your excuse?" Melati asked suddenly looking at the face of the man beside her who looked more handsome than when they met for the first time this afternoon.

Edwin who got a sudden question from Melati was surprised. But immediately hid his confusion. Edwin looked at Melati's face beside him, then said, "then, what should I do? Fight back and end up getting beat up by your father's men? I think you know that without me having to tell you."

Edwin was upset when he remembered that. Where he was forced by the servants of Gunadi-Melati's father. They didn't even bother to kill him if he rebelled. Edwin wanted to hit back the four men who dragged him. He who has just returned from traveling certainly will not have the same energy compared to them.

Meanwhile, Melati who heard Edwin's answer laughed. Without Edwin explaining it, Melati knew what was happening. His father was a hard and fierce person, no wonder if Edwin would not be able to fight his father's men who were famous for being good at martial arts.
