The words of the doctor was the only sound that reverberated in the office.

Aurora Sullivan stared at his face as the tears in her eyes never stopped falling.

"It's not about shedding tears, Miss Sullivan. You have to provide the money as fast as possible for your brother's surgery or he might die." The doctor reminded her and she nodded fervently, wiping the tears off her face.

"No, Finn can't die. I'll go now to find the money for his surgery, please don't let anything happen to him." She begged the doctor and he sighed with a nod.

"Don't worry, I'll try my best."

With that reassurance, she got up to her feet and walked out of the room feeling dejected as always.

She weighed her chances of getting $6000 in the space of 10 hours and realized that it would never be that possible.

The only people who were capable enough to give her such an amount of money was her father, David Sullivan and her boyfriend, Preston Reed.

She thought deeply about it and decided to visit Preston first.

He was the young master of the Reed family, they were known all over the country for being one of the richest families.

Flagging a cab down, she got in and gave the driver directions to the estate where Preston lived.

She thought about calling him first, but she went against it and decided to take him by surprise like always.

The cab soon arrived at the estate gates and she got down immediately, paying the driver and finally walking into the place.

When she arrived at his door step, she realized that the door was locked from the inside, but thankfully, she had his spare key with her. She unlocked the door and walked into the living room, her first thought being that he returned home after a stressful day at work and decided to have some rest.

That would be a legit explanation on why he locked his door.

But to her disbelief, she saw his clothes on the living room sofa. That wasn't the main thing, the main thing was that beside his clothes, lay a woman's hand bag.

Her brain registered that he might have been cheating on her again.

This was not the first time she caught him cheating, but she couldn't break things off with him, knowing that he stood as a financial back up for she and her brother.

She took in deep breaths and slowly walked towards the staircase that led to his bedroom.

She walked slowly as her heart beat accelerated. Her heart felt heavy each time she remembered that she was partially at fault in his mess.

Each time he tried to touch and make out with her, she would always turn him down and say she wasn't ready yet. This ended up pushing him to go for other women who were ready to give themselves to him.

Once she neared the door, she reached out to grab the handle as she heard the sounds coming from the bedroom.

With a stilled resolve, she pushed the door open with a loud bang and walked fearlessly into the room.

"Preston! Why are you cheating on me aga_ Chloe?" Her words got stuck in her throat as her blood ran cold.

Of all the people Preston could have fornicated with, it had to be her own step sister, Chloe.

Aurora's mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water as she stared at the two humans before her.

The sight of the two entangled in bed, was enough to shatter her spirit completely.

"Rora, it's not what you think… She, I…"

"Shut up." Aurora glared at him as she stared at the both of them.

She never expected this betrayal from Chloe.

Why did she have to go for Preston? Chloe had better men that often flocked around her because of her meek looking appearance.

She was beautiful without a doubt and had a very curvy figure. She was the favorite daughter of David Sullivan which was why all the eligible bachelors in the country wanted to have a chance with her.

But she gave none of them a chance and decided to steal her own boyfriend instead.

"Chloe, why did it have to be my boyfriend? Isn't it enough that you stole everything from me? Why are you aiming to take Preston as well?" She asked as the tears she had been holding back came pouring down her face.

Chloe lowered her gaze as she grabbed the bedsheet, pretending to feel remorseful for what she had done.

"Sister, Rora. I'm sorry for all these. It wasn't planned, trust me." She said in a tiny voice, but loud enough for them to hear.

Aurora stared at her with disgust in her eyes.

Trying to act innocent and push the blame towards her again.

"It's alright, I don't care by the way. Since you Preston too, you can have him." She spat out and turned to face Preston.

"Preston Reed, we're done. This relationship is over." She said and stormed out of the room, finally releasing the tears to drench her face.

She didn't realize it, but her heart began to hurt so much that she found breathing so difficult for a minute.

She suddenly paused in her tracks and fell to her knees as she cried bitterly on the lonely streets.

Ever since she knew Preston Reed, she had never know true happiness.

She was totally done with him this time and all she wanted to do was stay faraway from them as possible.

Just then, her phone rang and she fished it out of her purse to see it was a call from the doctor.

She hurriedly wiped he tears on remembering that she still needed the money from her brother's surgery.

"Hello." She tried as much as possible to sound normal.

"Any luck?" The doctor went ahead to ask.

"Nothing yet." She replied with a sigh. "But don't worry, I'll soon get it, you don't have to worry." She assured him.

The doctor sighed as well and hummed in response before you ending the call.

Since she had broken things off with Preston, there was no way she could go back to ask him for help.

Her last hope of getting that huge amount of money was her father.

With determination shining in her eyes, she stood up and took in deep refreshing breaths.

It was for Finn's sake and she couldn't lose him.

She would go over to the Sullivan's Manor and ask for the help she needed.

Flagging down another cab, she got in and left the estate.
