"If you're on board with the divorce, I'll go ahead and transfer the apartment in Blak Center to your name as a form of compensation. Furthermore, I'm willing to provide you with a generous sum of three million dollars in cash for support." Theo White proposed.

"Tsk." Ruby Harper raised her hand and applauded. "Mr. White, you are quite generous."

"You..." Theo was enraged by the disdainful look in her eyes.

Before he could get angry, Ruby raised her hand to silence him.

"Shut up! I'll sign it, right here and right now," Ruby interjected, abruptly cutting him off with a firm tone.

Theo's expression momentarily froze. After a brief silence, he said, "Do you really believe that playing hard to get will change my mind about the divorce?"

"Change your mind? Have I gone mad?" Ruby cast a mocking glance at him as she let out a scoff.

Then, she picked up the documents and carefully examined them, ensuring everything was in order. Satisfied, she confidently took the pen and swiftly signed her name.

The pen glided smoothly as she finally freed herself from the marriage.

Theo stood there and looked at her determined eyes, a wave of bewilderment washing over him.

Weren't those the very words she had spoken, professing a deep love for him for seven long years since she was sixteen?

Why would she agree to sign the divorce papers so readily?

A strange mixture of emotions began to creep within Theo.

As he stared at the name on the divorce agreement, he hesitated for a moment. But soon enough, he felt relieved.

Perhaps it was for the best. Ruby's straightforwardness spared him the agony of tears and tantrums.

After Theo left, Ruby took off her black dress. She entered the bathroom to remove her makeup and take a shower.

Warm water cascaded over her skin, creating a comforting sensation.

With her eyes closed, Ruby tilted her head slightly upwards, and the misted glass reflected her flawless side profile.

Undeniably, the original owner of Ruby's body possessed striking beauty. However, her true personality had been stifled and suppressed, molded into a docile and refined puppet solely to please her husband.

Little did she know, deep within most of the men lay a flawed nature. The more compliant she became, the more he grew bored.

As a result, despite being married for an entire year, her husband never bestowed upon her a single kiss or embrace, let alone shared an intimate night together.

Tragically, burdened by depression, she succumbed to an overdose of medication and died in the bedroom.

Yet, no one in the family knew, including her husband.

What a pitiful girl she was.

Ruby sighed slightly.

Fortunately, the original owner of Ruby's body clung to her grievances, refusing to rest in peace. This garnered the attention of the Lord of the Quick Transmigration, who orchestrated Ruby's entrance into this body, enabling Ruby to satisfy her unfulfilled desires.

The original owner's wishes were simple. She wanted to live her own life, to be genuinely cared for and loved. At the same time, she hoped her husband Theo would feel regret for betraying her.

...

With the divorce papers already signed, the necessary formalities for their separation would have to be postponed until the upcoming week, when she would have to visit the City Hall.

The next day, Ruby didn't want to stay in this villa anymore. After packing up some luggage, she moved into the apartment in Blak Center.

Although the apartment only had two bedrooms and a living room, the space was more than enough for her to live alone.

She had no intention of returning to the Harper family. Her relatives were quite bothersome.

As time passed, dusk descended, and stars adorned the sky.

Ruby changed into a red dress, applied delicate makeup, and slipped into a pair of high heels. She hailed a taxi and headed straight to the Asmos Club.

It was a top-tier entertainment venue, frequented by the rich and surrounded by luxury cars. It was renowned in the city as an exclusive haven for the elite.

Ruby wasn't a member and was not allowed to enter.

But she remained calm. She had a plan to sneak in.

She positioned herself in the parking lot and waited. After a while, a black Maybach pulled up.

Ruby narrowed her eyes slightly. After seeing the person in the car, she smiled.

As the car approached, she moved forward, gracefully twirling and stumbling by the front of the vehicle.

The Maybach screeched to an emergency halt.

The car window descended, revealing a noble and cold face.

Inside the car sat an extraordinarily attractive man with chiseled features, a prominent nose bridge, and penetrating eyes that held a frigid and piercing gaze, reminiscent of the boundless ocean.
