"What's on that woman's wrist? What a shiny golden pearl!"

"It must be extremely valuable. I must find a way to get it..."

It was particularly dark that night. In the pouring rain, everyone on the street hurriedly toward their destination clutching umbrellas over their heads. Head down to watch out for puddles, No one noticed the strange sight of the young woman strolling through the street without an umbrella. Her quiet temperament and indifferent manner were a stark contrast to the anxious passers-by.

If anyone took a closer look, they would notice that the golden pearl on the woman's wrist was shining faintly.

Although the golden glow was weak, it seemed to be powerful enough to block out the rain.

At this time, a man dressed in black walked past the young woman. Suddenly, as if he had accidentally stepped on a puddle and slipped, he stumbled right into the woman. Instead of dodging, the young woman unexpectedly turned around and quickly grabbed the man's wrist. Before he knew what had happened, the woman had twisted his arm behind his back.

The man in black could not move an inch.

"Boom!"

A clap of thunder exploded above his head.

The man was furious at being caught and glared at the woman. "What do you think you are doing?!"

The vicious look on the man's face was made worse by the dark surroundings and rumbling thunder. Any other ordinary person would've been scared stiff by then. However, the indifferent woman did not look scared at all.

The woman smirked. "Why? You want to leave just like that after stealing my things?"

Her calm voice and laidback manner were just like a fox who had just woken up. Before the man could reply, the young woman moved. She kicked the man's knees, forcing him to kneel on the ground.

She then raised her right foot and stepped heavily on the man's back, immobilizing him.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand what you're talking about! Stupid b*tch, let me go!" The man shouted angrily, staring at the woman with hatred.

The woman frowned and narrowed her eyes slightly. The dangerous glint in her eyes was the only warning.

With an unchanged expression, she swiftly stomped hard on the man's wrist!

A loud crack echoed in the man's ears.

The dry crackle of bones breaking would've been cause for alarm if the rain did not drown out the sound.

"Ah!"

The man cried out in pain. The intense pain made his whole body tremble.

But the woman didn't spare him free. She slapped this man in his face like a flash, suddenly some marks on the man's face. Her strength was so heavy that the man's face swelled as if he was stung by a swarm of bees. The man could not close his mouth, blood with saliva seeping from the corner of his mouth. He just mumbled.

"Young lady, please... Please, spare my life... Please, let me go..." The man endured the pain while begging for mercy.

The woman bent down and picked up the golden pearl that fell out of the man's hand. She glanced at him coldly and said contemptuously and sarcastically, "You dare to steal things from me after picking up some skills... You are very capable, hm?"

Hearing her sarcasm, the man's expression changed. Finally, he hesitated to ask, "May I ask who you are..."

The woman raised her eyebrows slightly and smirked.

Suddenly, she leaned closer to whisper into the man's ear, "Xiaoqi of the Bai family. You've heard of Bai Jin, haven't you?"

The man was stunned for a moment, and then he gasped in shock. He looked at her with wide eyes. "You... Are you the master thief, Bai Jin?"

The Bai family was a well-known family in the business of larceny.

Xiaoqi of the Bai family was the seventh child of her generation in the Bai family. A genius in her own right, she was young but her name was well-known by both law-enforcement agencies and the underworld.

Even among master thieves, she was considered a legendary figure.

Rumors had it that there was nothing Bai Jin could not steal. It all depended on whether she wanted to steal it or not.

The man tried his best to calm down. When his eyes fell on the golden pearl, he suddenly thought of something and looked at the young woman in shock. "This... Is this the national treasure of Country M, the Panlong Pearl?"

Bai Jin narrowed her eyes at him and nodded casually. "Yes."

She did not expect the clumsy guy to know so much. After getting an affirmative answer, the man only felt a chill running down his back and his body was covered in goosebumps that had nothing to do with the weather.

Not long ago, the news of Country M's national treasure, the Panlong Pearl, being stolen spread throughout the city. The king of Country M even offered billions of dollars in bounty to catch the thief.

According to rumors, the Panlong Pearl was a relic extracted from the body of the Panlong dragon that was more than ten thousand years old.

The golden pearl contained all the divine power of Panlong. If one could figure out how to release the divine power contained within it, one could harness the divine power to do anything. Although it sounded like a fantasy, the hefty reward being offered was not. People on both sides of the law were desperate to be the one to claim not only the money but also the bragging rights for capturing the thief.

As long as they found the divine pearl, they were set for life.

Unexpectedly, while everyone was hunting high and low for the Panlong Pearl, it appeared just like that before the man.

When he targeted Bai Jin, it was just because he thought that the golden pearl looked special and expensive. His plan was very simple; steal the pearl and sell it for a good price.

He did not expect to run into trouble and encounter the legendary master thief.

Even in his dreams, he would never have imagined that the young and beautiful girl in front of him was the famous Bai Jin!

What was even more unexpected was that Bai Jin had the Panlong Pearl that was driving everyone crazy looking for it.

The man dressed in black lay on the ground trembling. He was speechless and did not know what to do.

He only desperately wanted to run away.

He had already predicted what would happen to him since he dared to steal a treasure as precious as the Panlong Pearl from Bai Jin...

"Bai Jin... Please, spare my life. I know I'm in the wrong..."

"I am so blind that I did not recognize someone as great as you. I deserve to die from daring to steal from you!"

"I swear that I will never reveal the whereabouts of the Panlong Pearl. Please spare my life..."

The man grabbed his broken arm, knelt on the ground, and kowtowed non-stop to Bai Jin. He kowtowed until his forehead bled and did not stop even as his blood mixed with the rain, creating a dark red puddle around him.

At this moment, fear had gained the upper hand, and he could no longer feel pain nor think clearly.

He had accidentally uncovered the whereabouts of the Panlong Pearl. Bai Jin would not let him leave alive.

Who in the thieving world did not know that the Bai family's Xiaoqi made her debut at the age of five and became famous at the age of 10.

She was a genius who was both righteous and evil.

Although she would not easily provoke others, if she was provoked by others, she would definitely seek revenge and would not be soft-hearted!

He was just trying to make a living! He didn't expect to run into Bai Jin. He was too unlucky!

Seeing that the man was scared out of his wits, Bai Jin couldn't help sneering. "Coward!"

However, they were all in the same trade, after all. And she was not that petty and vengeful.

But this person offended her and should be punished accordingly. Otherwise, if this incident reached other people's ears, who would still take her seriously?

After thinking about it, her expression turned cold as she said, "It's impossible for me to spare you. You already know my identity. What should I do if it gets out? I think... it's better for you to end yourself. What do you think?"

"No! Please! I can't..."

Upon hearing Bai Jin's casual words, the man collapsed to the ground. His body trembled even harder, and his face was full of despair. It seemed that he would die there tonight...

"So you mean... You want me to do it?"

Bai Jin bent down slightly and looked down at him with a chilling look.

The man was so terrified he could not speak, on the verge of going insane. He shook his head desperately as his tears and snot mixed together, making him look extremely pathetic.

"Hmph."

Bai Jin snorted and cursed in her heart.

She suddenly raised her hand, straightened her palm outward, and fiercely aimed at the man's head!

"Ah!"

The man screamed, his eyes rolled back as his head hit heavily on the ground, and fainted.

"Oh, you're such a coward." Bai Jin chuckled.

She glanced at the man indifferently, shrugged her shoulders, and left the man there as she walked away. She had not intended to kill the man. She just wanted to scare him.

Unexpectedly, he was so terrified that he hit his head on the ground and passed out. Bai Jin chuckled. It was too funny.

The drizzling rain made everything appear hazy as the night deepened.

Bai Jin continued to move forward as if nothing had happened, leaving the man passed out in the rain.

She casually glanced at the Panlong Pearl in her palm and sighed.

This Panlong Pearl was truly valuable.

A few billion dollars... How much was that in yuan?

She just wondered if the rumor was true or false. Did the Panlong Pearl contain the divine power of Panlong?

The steady rain turned into a deluge.

It had started off as a drizzle. Now, it was like the heavens had completely opened their floodgates. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, as if tearing a hole in the dark night. The bright flash followed by utter silence made the people on the streets feel restless.

"It is as if the lightning wants to split the sky in half!" Someone exclaimed before hurrying away.

Bai Jin frowned.

After the flash of lightning, there should be thunder–

As soon as the thought formed in her mind, there was a booming sound of thunder. Suddenly, a dazzling golden light flashed in the air as the sound of thunder faded away. The golden light zipped through the dark night sky, turned into lightning, and headed straight towards the top of Bai Jin's head!

"D*mn it! D*mn it, aim properly before you strike!"

Before she could wonder why she was being targeted, Bai Jin had instinctively somersaulted backward, barely avoiding the golden lightning. She righted herself and then started to run, throwing away her laidback and calm attitude.

What on earth?! The golden lightning seemed like it was out to get her. After it missed her, it made a turn, and then headed for her once again.

No matter how Bai Jin dodged, the lightning struck at her feet again and again. It was as though it had eyes and could follow her movements.

"What's going on? I just took a stupid pearl. Do you have to strike me to death?"

Bai Jin cursed while dodging, and her eyes turned icy cold.

There were a few times when she was almost hit.

"It's not a good idea to continue wasting my energy like this."

After a quick consideration, she raised her hand and was about to throw away the trouble-making Panlong Pearl.

At this moment, there was a clap of thunder in the sky.

Rumble! Boom!

The flash of golden lightning exploded in the night sky like fireworks. Bai Jin looked up subconsciously. The golden light tore a huge hole in the sky. Through the hole, Bai Jin saw a black vortex swirling out...

Suddenly, her body suddenly rose into the air as the vortex sucked her in. Then, a white light blinded her eyes...

In a valley, it was snowing heavily, and the wind was piercingly cold.

The snow that fell from the sky looked like goose feathers as it danced in the wind. The valley was becoming dark, and besides the howling wind, only sad cries could be heard echoing in the valley.

It was dusk and night was coming.

"Shh, my baby, don't be afraid. Mom is here. Mom will protect you!"

Everywhere the woman went, snow covered her ankles.

The woman in pink struggled to walk through the heavy snow. Her light pink mink cloak was the only thing keeping her warm. She was flustered and gasped for breath with every step she took.

And with every step she took, a trail of blood was left behind. The eery sight was more chilling than the weather.

The woman had a broken arrow in her chest, close to where the heart was. A fatal wound... That was where the blood trail was coming from.

She held a baby swaddled in cloth in her arms.

The woman's face was pale as her blood continued to drain out her. Even though her wound was still oozing blood, she did not stop climbing desperately forward as if she needed to escape from something.

Suddenly, she slipped on the snow and lost her footing. She fell straight to the ground and the broken arrow in her chest pierced even deeper. A large mouthful of blood sprayed out of her mouth.

The warm blood melted the snow. The white snow stained with flecks of red was eerily beautiful.

She tried her best to get up, but she was too exhausted. She could no longer move forward. She knew that she would die that day in the snow.

But her child...

The ground began to vibrate, the approaching cavalry sending tremors down the woman's spine.

No! The woman's face paled as her heart palpitated.

Those people behind her... were about to catch up!

She was about to die, but her child... How could she save her child? That person was of nobility, but he was vicious and cruel. He would never let go of her child.

Thinking of that, warm tears rolled down the corners of her eyes. She held the child in her arms tightly and took something out of her sleeve with a trembling hand.

Although her hands were covered with blood, she tightly held the thing that was giving off a faint red light.

It was a red jade pendant with excellent craftsmanship.

"Ye, I am about to die... Where are you now?"

The woman muttered the words under her breath and suddenly wept bitterly.

Her sad cries lingered around the valley as the wind carried her cries far and wide, making it sound even more desolate.

Suddenly, a silver light appeared in the air, blinding everyone within the valley.

The woman immediately raised her hand to see then instinctively shaded her eyes. From the gap between her fingers, she could see that a crack in the sky had appeared. It was as though someone had swung an ax at it. And through the crack, a... person fell out.

The woman's eyes opened wide and she held her breath as she looked at the magical scene in front of her.

Thud!

There was the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground. Then, the silver light disappeared and the sky returned to normal. It was as if the scene just now had never happened.

At first, the woman thought that it was an illusion she saw before dying, but when she saw the person that had fallen in front of her, she was stunned.

She looked up at the sky and then at the woman in front of her. Suddenly, she realized something and called out in a trembling voice, "God... Goddess!"

"D*mn it! What happened?"

Bai Jin held her head in her hand and lay on the ground in a daze.

She still did not understand what was going on.

She only remembered that she had been trying to avoid the lightning strikes. Then, there was a loud boom of thunder above her head and a crack appeared in the air. After that, she was sucked into a vortex-like black hole...

She fell from the sky and crashed to the ground. Ow... Everything hurt!

As soon as she tried to prop up her body with her hands, her palms felt cold and she could feel the snow falling on her.  She shook her head and tried to sober herself.

But... where was this place?

She looked around, and all she could see was a vast expanse of white.

"Goddess... "

A faint voice called out again.

Huh? Was there someone there with her?

Bai Jin turned her head subconsciously and met the woman's eyes. Both of them were frozen as they stared at each other with wide eyes.

The woman in front of her was in a pink cloak, with white fox fur around her neck. She wore a pair of boots the same color as her cloak. This woman's dress... was obviously an ancient costume!

Her delicate yet beautiful face, arched eyebrows, bright eyes, and gentle temperament made her an exceptionally alluring woman!

But that wasn't the important part. The important part was that the woman's appearance was exactly the same as hers!

Looking at the woman was like looking into a mirror. The only difference was that she was wearing an overcoat and her hair was in a ponytail...

Who was this woman in front of her?

Bai Jin did not believe that she had a twin sister who was separated at birth.

"You are..."
