Later on Alice's birthday, Freya was sitting on one of their couches in the living room with Alice on her lap playing with her fingers. Luke was beside her with his arm wrapped around her shoulder. Salma was sitting with Polly on her lap waving her small hands trying to get Alice's attention.
Jack, Nana and Debby were sitting on the other couch with Nana dozing off while Aaron and Rose sat on the two sitter couch. Karim, Danny and Lin were each sitting on recliners as Lily and Blake played with Alice's toys on the floor. They were discussing the news they saw some minutes ago.
"How is this possible? I thought Frankenstein and his monster are fictional characters." Jack mused looking confused.
"He is or at least I think so, but Dr. David created something similar to Frankenstein's monster five years ago. These monsters on the TV look exactly like them." Freya said as she held Alice's hand while Alice played with Polly with her other hand as they both giggled.
"Then did Dr. David escape again?" Debby asked looking unsettled.
"No, it can't be. The prison they placed him in this time is well secured, but let's call Seth to confirm if he is still there." Luke answered this time and as he said the last part, Freya took her phone from where she kept it earlier on the couch between her and Salma.
"Yeah, that's what we should do first. He is supposed to be at the party anyway." Everyone nodded in agreement with her and Luke as she dialed Seth's number.
The phone rang a few times before he answered it. "Hello, Freya."
"Hey, how are you?"
"I'm fine, how is Luke and Alice?" His voice sounded happy that she called probably because they haven't talked in a while.
She smiled at the mention of her family and looked over at Luke to see him paying attention to her call and glanced at Alice on her lap who was still playing with Polly. "They're great and today is actually Alice's birthday. I sent you an invite to the birthday party through text last week."
"Oh no, I'm sorry. I forgot because I was so swarmed with work, I'm even at work right now." He said sounding apologetic.
"It's fine, I wanted to talk to you about Dr. David." As she said this, she noticed the rest of the people in the living room continue talking amongst themselves even Salma that was beside her was talking with Rose and Lin while their husbands talked with each other and the grandparents.
"You haven't asked about him in years, I guess you saw the news."
"Yes, can you help us check if he's still in his prison cell or if he busted out again?"
"Alright, I don't think he did since it would have been mentioned in the news, but I'll call the prison and get back to you." Seth said enthusiastically showing that he was happy to help.
"Thank you." She hung up the call and placed her phone back on the couch as she turned to everyone, "He's going to call the prison and ask."
"Alright." Jack and Debby chorused while the rest nodded.
Luke took her hand and intertwined their fingers giving it a little squeeze to reassure her. "Baby, everything is going to be okay. If it's not Dr. David creating these monsters then we don't have to be worried about being stalked, kidnapped or murdered all the time."
"Yeah, that's true, but what if it's him? How would the police even find him?" She asked looking at him, and he lightly squeezed her hand again.
"It can't be him. There is no way he can get out of that prison."
"Then in that case, I think it would be harder to find the culprit because we don't even know who he is." She said bringing Salma's attention to her.
"Yes, but we shouldn't get involved, Freya. Let's leave it all to the police because I don't think we can handle another Dr. Clown."
"She's right, baby. Let's leave the investigation to the police. The culprit doesn't know us and let's leave it that way." Luke agreed with Salma, and Freya nodded in understanding.
"Yeah, you're right. We need to stay out of the way and be safe." She said as her phone started ringing, capturing Alice and Polly's attention. Alice tried grabbing the phone as she picked it up and answered it.
She placed the phone against her ear as the others paid attention to her. "Hello."
"Hey, I called the prison and it's not Dr. David. He is still there, restrained and locked up."
"That means someone else is creating these monsters and trying to hurt people."
"Yes, and we're investigating the case. We will find whoever it is and bring them to justice." Seth reassured.
"Good, and thanks for your help, Seth."
"It's no problem. Send my birthday wishes to Alice."
"She's right here and she can hear you." She said as she brought the phone close to Alice making her stare at it.
"Happy birthday Alice!" Seth said through the phone making Alice clap her little hands and exclaim, "Hapi bathday!"
"That's uncle Seth wishing you happy birthday." Freya explained to Alice and Alice said, "Uncle Seth, come to my bathday and we will play."
"Uncle Seth will come to play with you, but not today. Bye bye, Alice."
"Bye, bye." Alice waved her hands at the phone making Luke and Freya chuckle.
Seth hung up the call, and she placed the phone back on the couch making Alice's eyes follow it. She grabbed it after she saw her mom place it on the couch. Luke shook his head, smiling at Alice while Freya chuckled at her behavior.
She turned to everyone, "It is confirmed that it is not Dr. David that is creating these monsters. He is still locked up in prison."
"That means we don't know who it is." Jack said, and Debby took a glimpse at him before glancing at Freya, saying, "So the police are already working on finding the culprit then?"
"Yes."
"I think it would have been easier to catch him if it was Dr. David." Rose said, but Lin shook her head.
"Dr. David is crazy, he has been stalking and tormenting Freya and Luke, but this new culprit doesn't even know who they are."
"Yeah, that's true. Freya and Luke won't have to go through what they did with Dr. David." Aaron added understanding Lin's point.
"But that is what we think. What if he knows them?" Salma pointed out making Luke and Freya look at her in question. She saw that and added, "What if this person was one of his men or subordinate that learnt his medical knowledge?"
"That makes sense since the monsters are exactly like the ones Dr. David created." Freya said looking worried, and Luke glanced at her.
"Yes, and if that is the case then that person may know us and try getting revenge on us." Luke stated what they were all thinking as he looked back at everyone.
"They may, but that means you should expect it and be aware in case they try to hurt you." Karim said, making Freya and Luke nod.
"Yes, but let's not talk about this anymore. It's getting depressing in here, and it's a birthday party." Freya said, smiling to lighten up the mood.
Luke nodded from beside her and everyone agreed. Debby picked a gift bag that was beside her hand bag on the floor which Freya didn't notice with her when she came in. "Oh yeah, here are my gifts to Alice."
Jack also brought out a case from his pocket, "This is for the birthday girl."
Freya sat Alice on Luke's lap and got up to collect the bag from Debby and the case from Jack. "I also brought her gifts with me." Salma picked up her hand bag from atop the hand of the couch and opened it to bring out a small gift bag.
As Freya returned to her seat, she collected the gift bag from Salma. Lin and Rose both got up with their own gift bags to give to Freya, saying, "Here is ours."
They handed it to her and went back to their seats. She kept all the gifts on her lap and faced everyone as Luke tickled Alice on her tummy making her giggle. "Thank you, everyone. We appreciate your gifts."
She also glanced at Salma who was sitting beside her in thanks. She pulled out Debby's gifts first from its gift bag. It was four designer baby clothes inside clothe bags and two expensive barbie dolls in their cases with their own clothes and makeup in a small box.
"I specially designed those clothes for her." Debby said as she smiled at Alice.
"Thank you, mom." Luke said and turned to everyone, "Thank you all."
They nodded at him as Freya opened Jack's gift case next. It was a pair of diamond earrings and necklace. "It's so beautiful."
"Wow." Lin exclaimed as Rose and Aaron looked surprisingly at the gift.
"It looks like real diamonds." Salma added, and Jack nodded, "They are."
