Introduction
Her downfall came hours after her birthday when she found out that she was the mate of the very monster she hunted. A father, tormented by the grief of the past, could do nothing until he found someone like-minded and formed the Alliance to fight those who took away the love of his life. He fought behind the screen while his daughter did what he never could - she killed the big bad wolf. The years passed, and she followed her father's vision until an ill-advised mission led her to imprisonment under the command of an Alpha. Little did Enya know that misfortune would reveal too many secrets. Will Enya ever find herself in a tangle of lies, or will she perish with those who led her astray?

“I hate myself for having warm feelings for a cold-blooded murderer."

"You're such a fool. Not only are you a freak, an undesirable abnormality, but you are a complete tool. You live with the foolish belief that there is a Goddess who doesn't exist."

Her words hurt. Each aimed for my heart, and they cut deep. But I don't show it. Instead, I smile at the desperation that flashes in her eyes. "And you, my dear mate, dare to speak of my emotions, claiming they don't exist, while you lack the most important thing needed to survive. As it turns out, common sense is not as common as it seems. Prepare yourself for interrogation, it will happen soon, and I can assure you that no part of it will be pretty." I've given her a warning. Whatever she does or says is now her business. I wasn't supposed to be here; even my Beta advised me to stay away from my mate, for she is our enemy. But I broke my word and came to see her. Despite the hatred and disrespect she hurls at me, I still feel good. She's here, safe - chained to a wall, but at least alive.

I'm about to turn around and leave when she screams at the top of her lungs. "I have killed so many and will never stop. I have killed children and never felt remorse, for they would grow into the same beasts like you. Don't think your words will ever make me feel remorse. And now I will kill everyone and everything you love. Even if it means killing myself!" Her shouting ends, only to be replaced by a mad laughter reminiscent of a hyena's laugh.

I expected a lot, but nothing even comes close to the words and promises she screams at me. That brief moment of shock gives my wolf enough time to take over my body. I try to force him back to regain control of my body, but it's too late. He stomps over to her, lifts my hand, and slaps our mate across her face. Our breathing is deep and rough, but somehow he manages to spit out the words I never thought I'd hear, certainly not from him. "One more time, mate, and I will reject you. Then the pack will tear you to pieces without hesitation. You want a beast? Today must be your lucky day, because a beast, a monster is exactly what you'll get!"
