She thanked her mum and rushed to her bedroom to take a nice shower when her phone rang. She smiled and picked up the call, Chris was calling, he congratulated her as usual and invited her over for dinner at a her favourite restaurant. He promised to pick her up by seven, she smiled and hung up. Not long, David called and congratulated her, inviting her over for dinner. She politely declined and told him that she already had plans with Chris at her favourite restaurant. David felt he was late again but felt relieved when Margaret promised to make it up to him.

It’s seven pm already, Chris drove in and a maid welcomed him in, offering him to have a seat.

wonder Margaret’s family has a maid? Chris had got the maid for them, he didn’t want Margaret to get stressed while doing house chores

. Mrs Tricia approached him with a glass of juice and asked him to bring Margaret home on time. Margaret walked in on a pink flare gown and a black flat shoe. Chris gave her a peck on her cheek and they left for his car. As a gentle man, he opened the door for Margaret and shut it when she settled in. They arrived at Margaret’s favourite restaurant. Chris had made a special reservation for them. Margaret was really grateful, she couldn’t stop thanking him while they enjoyed their meal. After dinner, Chris got some ice cream which they enjoyed. For the few minutes, they enjoyed their night staring at the sky, admiring the stars, Chris stopped when Margaret’s lips caught his attention. He smiled and wiped off the ice cream on her lip with his thumb. Chris glanced at his watch, it was already late.

‘’Margaret… let’s get going. It’s almost 10pm and your mum asked me to bring you home on time’’

‘’Really? It’s already 10pm? Sure, let’s go’’

‘’Get in’’

‘’Thank you’’

Chris drove off, while taking his left turn, a taxi bumped into his car, giving it a scratch. Chris stopped his car and got off from his car. He rushed over to the taxi and dragged out the driver.

‘’You scratched my car you fool!

‘’I’m sorry but I’m not at fault ‘’

‘’Really? Then I’m at fault, right?

‘’I don’t know’’

Margaret got out of the car and approached chris, she grasped his hand and asked him to let the driver go. Who worsened the issue. Chris tried to call the cops but ,Margaret stopped him as it was getting late already. Chris and Margaret returned back to the car and he drove her home. He apologised for the last few moments that almost ruined the night. Margaret smiled and told him she enjoyed the night. They hugged and bid goodnight. Margaret turned and saw her mum behind her, she apologised for coming home late and immediately left for her room.

David and chris arrived at the gym and dropped their bags. David was really eager to know about the dinner with Margaret but he couldn’t ask chris about. While chris was fixing his weight lift, David approached him.

‘’why do you exercise everday?

‘’you said I exercise everyday? Then it’s my daily routine’’

‘’that’s true. Do you show off your body to your girlfriend?

‘’I don’t have one’’

‘’you took her out on a dinner date last night’’

‘’ I only took my friend, our friend Margaret out just to congratulate her and it’s not a date’’

‘’I thought it Was a date…

‘’please David… enough with these random and unnecessary questions, it’s too early for them, please’’

‘’you called my questions random and unnecessary?

‘’David… just zip okay?

‘’ yeah I will. Enjoy your exercise, I wish you’ll trip on the treadmill’’

‘’David!

David and Chris went over to a café for a cup of nice coffee after the exercise. David apologised for being naughty, Chris already use to his naughty behaviour. They had a little chat before heading home. David had his bath, got dressed and left for Margaret’s house. He insisted she goes on a nice picnic with him. Margaret gave into his request and got changed. While they were about to leave, Chris drove and David’s smile faded, while Margaret was surprised to see Chris.

‘’Chris… why are you here? Margaret asked

‘’I wanted to apologise for last night. I intended to make it memorable but it got ruined’’

‘’It’s okay. I enjoyed it all. It wasn’t ruined. You didn’t have to come over to my house to apologise..

‘’Yes it wasn’t necessary’’ David added

‘’I know. Have this. Seems like you two already have plans. I should head out and let you guys have fun. Take care of her David’’ he said, patting David’s back.

Margaret asked the maid to keep the box in her room. David and Margaret left the house. They arrived at the park and set their picnic. They had a lot of fun, took lots of pictures and rode a bicycle. David also took her to watch a movie before taking her home. Margaret thanked him for the fun day. She hugged him and bid him goodnight. Margaret went in and was welcomed by the maid who handed the box to her. Margaret took the box and left for her bedroom. She opened it and took out the necklace and a note chris had written to her.

‘’I’m sorry for messing up last night. I promise to make it up to you, very soon. So, please forgive me and trust me on this, okay?

Thanks, lovely Chris.

She smiled and placed the note in her diary and placed the necklace in her jewellery box and left for the bathroom. She had her bath before going to bed.

The following day, Chris visited with a bouquet of flowers and a chocolate box. The maid welcomed him in and offered him a glass of juice while he waited for Margaret. Margaret walked, wearing the necklace he gifted her. Chris smiled when he noticed the necklace on her neck.

‘’Why are you here?

‘’I’m going to Paris in two days time, I’m gonna spend the holiday with mum’’

‘’Really? Have safe trip. okay?

‘’Come see me off at the airport’’

‘’Okay. I will. What’s the time of depature?

‘’Morning. I’ll be leaving for the airport around 8am. Can you make it to my house?

‘’Yes, I’ll be there, early…. I guess’’

‘’Shall we take a walk?

‘’Sure. Hey… tell mum that I’m going for a walk with Chris’’

‘’okay ma’am’’

Chris and Margaret had a little walk down the neighbourhood. He hugged her for a while before leaving. As if Chris knew Margaret won’t make it. Chris already left but he misinformed her. His flight was 8am. Margaret left after having a cup of coffee at Chris’ house.
