Hannah's POV

What did I ever do wrong? Why do I deserve this treatment? Am I not his wife?

I thought as I fixed breakfast. Hastily adding the ingredients for soup, I picked the spatula and stirred the mixture.

Gosh! He is sick and I am very worried something worse will happen. I don't even think that he is going to drink it.

Reducing the heat, I let it boil for a while before bringing it down. Pouring the soup into a soup bowl, I carried his soup and utensils in a tray.

Standing before his bedroom, I took a deep breath before knocking on his door.

"Come in!" He shouted back. I pushed the handle down and pushed the door. Lifting my gaze, I saw him lying against the bedpost with a computer in his lap. His phone was in between his ear and shoulder as he spoke to the person.

He does not have a freaking shirt. Only a pair of sweatpants! Urgh! Someone catch me before?I?fall.

I walked slowly, nearing his bed inch by inch. He sighed on the phone before muttering a soft 'hold on'.

" I brought you soup. You were coughing all night. I thought it might help you." I informed, tilting my head to the tray.

" Just place it on the bed." His voice dark and filled with anger. I slowly placed the tray on the other side of him, near the middle of the bed.

" I can take a off day for you if you want," I suggested, cautiously. " No, just go," He replied, picking his phone back up.

Don't you dare cry in front of him!

I turned away from him and walked away from him. I neared the door and turned to him. I opened my mouth to ask him if he needs any medicine but thought against it.

I exited and closed the door behind me. Leaning against the door, I let the tears flow down my cheeks.

I pushed away from the door, quietly sobbing as I entered my room. I changed to my jeans and a button-down. I picked up my doctor's coat and wore it.

Throwing my hair into a messy bun, I closed the door and walked to the kitchen. I knew that no matter how much I wipe my eyes, the tears are going to multiply.

I don't even want to eat.

I picked my bag up and closed the door, leaving Matt to lock up. I walked up to the car to pause and look at it.

" Mrs. Young, are you ok?" Matt, my bodyguard asked me. " Don't call me that! Ok?! I am not Mrs. Young to anyone!" I shouted at him.

He gave a sympathetic look before pulling me into a hug. " Matt, when will he accept me?" I sobbed into his shoulder, feeling his arms tighten.

" Shh, Hannah. It is fine. Everything will be alright." He pacified me, smothering out my hair. I sighed before slowly pulling away from him, feeling my heart pace faster. Tears continued to slide down my face.

" I am getting late for work," I muttered, hanging my head low. He nodded before opening the door for me. I slid in and shut the door. I pulled the seatbelt while watching Matt round the car.

He entered the car and started the engine. The silence in the car was definitely deafening. I started looking out at the scenery going by. It only made me cry harder. I felt Matt's hand on my shoulder, a silent plea for me to stop crying.

As we neared the hospital, I started wiping my eyes with a tissue, drying them. " Hannah, please stop crying. I can't bear to see you crying, Hannah." Matt pleaded.

" I don't want to live anymore, Matt. I just want to jump off a cliff or something." My voice sounded hoarse, my eyes welling up again.

" You promised me you won't do things like that. You remember that, don't you?" Matt reminded. I nodded as my promise flooded my brain.

" Now go and save some lives, Hannah." Matt patted my shoulder. I gave him a weak smile before exiting the car.

" I'll be out here if you need anything." He reminded. I nodded once more before shutting the door. I took deep breaths to ease my emotions and to push everything to the back of my mind.

Once I entered, the head nurse gave me my schedule for the day. I checked when I had leisure breaks and when I had surgeries.

Thanking her, I left for my daily rounds, checking on my patients before heading for my first surgery.

That evening

Drinking coffee had me writing the last report of the day. " Hey, I am going to head home," I announced to my colleague, Joseph Mendoza. " Do you want to have dinner?" He asked politely, getting my attention.

"Umm... I don't know..." I stammered. " Come on, it's just dinner. Daniel doesn't care anyway. I promise I won't let anything happen to you. I'm very good at martial arts, you know" He joked, raising his eyebrows at me

At the sound of his name, my mood diminished into smithereens. I forced a smile and replied, "As if I would let you. I'm just tired, so maybe we can go on another day." I refused.

He sighed before lowering his voice, " When are you going to make decisions for your own life? You can't let him rule your life, Hannah." He placed his hand on my shoulder.

" I can't just up and go, Joseph," I replied, moving my shoulder away from him. " Why can't you? You can move out, Hannah. He won't even object. I doubt he will even heed your words." He objected, pointing out a very good point.

" He will listen to me, Joseph. I won't even have to try to make him listen to me." I argued back. " Fine, Hannah. Do as you want. You don't want to listen to me then fine. I can't force you. But don't come crying to me when you are wrong." He stormed off, placing the clipboard with a 'thud'. I picked up my stuff and walked out of the hospital.

The cold air slapped my face as if warning me the pain will worsen if it was the reality. I knew that what Joseph had said was true. I also knew that there would be no way for me to get him to listen to me.

I walked towards Matt as the door opened. I slid in, still fazed by the fight. " Are you ok?" Matt asked, driving out of the parking lot.

" I am going to move out, Matt." My voice bounced off the walls of the car. The car jerked a stop in the middle of the road.

" WHAT?!" He exclaimed, his eyes widened hugely. " We are in the middle of the road. Move to the side." I warned him. He instantly nodded and shifted the car to the side.

" Why in the world would you want to move out?" Matt asked me, holding my shoulders. I shrugged his hands off before replying. " I can't take it anymore, Matt. I really cannot anymore. I have an old flat. I am shifting there, Matt." I reasoned with him.

" Hannah, moving away from the problem won't solve it." He advised to me. " You do know that I cannot divorce him. He barely gives a shit about me. So moving out seems to be the best option as of now, Matt." I turned fully to face him.

" What if your parents or his parents turn up? What would you do then?" He questioned, his eyebrow arching up.

" I am sure that they have the courtesy to at least inform him or me before coming over. If that happens, we will welcome them into his house," I answered, feeling heartbroken once again.

" Okay, okay. But how will you live in the cramped-up place? It is not fit for anyone to live. You cannot possibly live there. Mr. Young will definitely not allow it." He shook his head.

" Do you really think that he will stop me, Matt? Because I don't think so. I had given up on him a very long time ago. The small piece of hope I had disappeared today in the morning. I cannot let my heartbreak any more than this, Matt. He isn't going to love me. He isn't going to know that I love him. He will never know." I whispered, my voice cracking.

" Well, if that is what you want." He finally agreed. He started the car once again and drove back home.

To the house, not home. It never was home.

We finally arrived in front of the mansion filled with lights. " When are you going to tell him?" He asked.

" Right now, Matt."
