Creak."
Daisy Elliot stiffened at the sound of the door opening. Peeking out a little, she smiled seeing a man loosening his tie.
She quickly emerged from the corner, diving into his arms and began kissing him lightly on a tiptoe.
James Hendrix paused as a woman's soft and fragrant body suddenly filled his arms, causing him to lose focus.
"Bang!"
His body was pushed onto the bed, his suit button unbuttoned, followed by his shirt. The feather-light kisses made him groan as he involuntarily lifted his neck but when his hand touched her waist, he snapped back to reality.
Those were stretch marks, shameful traces! These marks were a constant reminder of why he initially married this disgusting woman!
"Elliot Daisy!"
He violently pushed her away, his face red with rage. He quickly switched on the room light, the glaring light driving away the lingering ambiguity.
"You were this naughty that time too, weren’t you?! You’re such a despicable woman! Serves you right that you couldn’t save anything, not even the baby!" James spat, angrily entering the bathroom for a cold bath, he definitely needs to wash her stupid touch off his skin.
Daisy Elliot lowered her head, softly touching her stretch marks as tears poured down from her eyes. She could have used drugs to clean them a little but how could she? they were the only reminder she got from her baby. A gift from carrying her baby. She had had slight complications during his pregnancy and had been rushed to the hospital but the baby was long gone. She doesn’t even know what he looks like cause he was buried before she woke up. She had woken up with the news that she failed to save her child and since then, she became more despised in the Hendrix family. She was even labeled a careless despicable woman.
She sat down on a couch, swallowing her tears as she thought of how else to get the money. Her grandma was gravely ill, badly in need of a large sum of money for her treatment and as her mother-in-law had clearly stated, only by having a child for the Hendrix would she gain the qualification to take money from the Hendrix family.
Soon, James emerged from the bath, still in his impeccably tailored suit, adjusting his tie and hair in front of the mirror.
"James, mom and dad want us to have a baby. Could you please cooperate? As long as we have the baby...hmmm hmm" Daisy stuttered as she tried to release herself from James, he had suddenly grabbed her throat before she could finish her sentence, "Elliot Daisy! You do really think you're worth to bear a child for the Hendrix family huh? It can only happen in your dreams! Did you forget why you married into the family? Remember where you stand!"
Elliot Daisy gasped for breath, her face turning ruby with the lack of oxygen. Her nails were desperately scratching against James Hendrix's iron arms. She panted heavily on the bed as after being thrown aside.
She could still remember the year it all began. She had just turned eighteen and was still in college when she found herself pregnant and married to James Hendrix, the eldest son of the Hendrix family, which had ended her collegiate life prematurely.
However, disdain and ostracism from the Hendrix family followed.
"Change your clothes. Our younger uncle is back from overseas, and we're going to have dinner with my family tonight." James Hendrix's voice was icy cold, his head held high as he fastened the two buttons on his collar. Elliot Daisy walked over to him, reaching out to help. However, her cheeks was met with a ferocious slap.
"Absolutely shameless!" he spat at her.
Daisy clenched her fists as she was all too aware why her husband behaved like this towards her, it was simply because all along, there was another woman in his heart.
How ironic that the owner of his heart was someone else while she suffered desperately for a little affection from him.
"You know what James, let's get a divorce. The divorce agreement is on the bedside table. All you need to do is give me a million, and I'll sign right away. This is what you have always wanted, isn't it?"
She nonchalantly combed her hair, pulling on her coat. James looked shocked at her as this was the first time she had spoken so boldly.
Since he was unwilling to have a child with her, there was no other way but divorce. Maybe he would be willing to pay this price just to get rid of her.
After five years of feeling stifled in the Hendrix family, she had long since had enough. The love she once felt was all extinguished, all she cared about now was her grandmother's health.
A sarcastic smile spread across James Hendrix's face. If it weren't for Elliot Daisy , he could have married the woman he truly loved and had beautiful kids too. Finally, this thing would let him be.
Picking up the divorce agreement, he took a quick glance. His eyes suddenly growing ice cold at the sight of the condition, "A million? In the five years you’ve spent in theHendrix family, you've done nothing to earn a psychic loss compensation of a million. You must be dreaming! Even if I were to give it to a dog, I would, than having to give it to you!"
