Thalia's POV

My alarm clocks blared up in the four corners of my room.

My ears were filled with the annoying sounds of my alarm clocks.

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed jumping out of my bed.

My actions made my head spin in dizziness that made me lay down in my bed again.

"It's the day," I whispered in myself as I stares at my ceiling.

I took a deep breath before I stood up and turned off my four-alarm clocks that still keep on ringing. Yes, I really set four alarm clocks so it's sure that I will wake up early.

I quickly went to my bathroom to take a bath and I made sure that I bathe thoroughly before I wrapped myself in a towel.

Today is a special day not just because of one reason. There's another reason to celebrate today and I'm very excited and nervous. Excited because finally, I have the courage to do this and nervous because I don't know what will be the outcome of this.

I crossed my fingers, hoping for a good result of what I'm going to do. I waited months— no, years for this. And finally, here it is.

I heaved a sigh trying to calm myself because my heart is starting to beat fast by the thought of him. Gosh, I just said that I finally have the courage but I still can't help but feel nervous about it.

My eyes landed on the dress that I bought months ago for this day. I quickly put it on and look at myself in the full body mirror I have. It's a black Rosemary fairy butterfly dress.

Seeing my reflection in the mirror made me smile. It's so pretty. The dress is so pretty, especially its back part.

I did my hair and put light makeup on. My mom used to tell me that I don't really need make-up because I'm naturally beautiful but I don't really believe her, of course, she's my mom, she's expected to tell me that. So I put make-up on to feel pretty and boost my confidence more. I get told I'm beautiful by other people too but I don't know about that. I still have a lot of insecurities that I'm trying so hard to accept and work on.

After I'm done with my hair and make-up. I quickly wore my shoes. It's a white pearl YSL heel and it's so pretty. It complimented my dress very well.

I immediately went downstairs once I was settled.

"Good morning," My mom greeted the moment I entered the dining room.

She's having breakfast with my father who's busy talking to his phone while eating at our dining table.

The usual scenario that I already get used to. My mom and dad are both managing our business and they're always busy. Of course, I understand that. They work so hard to give me the comfortable life I deserve. But you know sometimes, I can't help but feel lonely especially when I'm in our house alone and they're on a business trip. I don't have any siblings, I'm an only child and it really gets boring and lonely sometimes. I do have friends but it's just different.

I quickly shake the thought off my head.

This day should be a good day. I should not think of any negativity.

"Good morning, mom and dad." I walked towards them and gave them a kiss on the cheeks.

I felt my mother's eyes scanned me as I took a seat beside her.

"Where are you going?" she asked smiling although curiosity is visible on her face.

"I'm going out with my friends." I smiled at her.

"This early?" Dad asked.

He's done talking to his phone. He's probably talking to one of his investors or business partners, I don't know.

"Yes, dad. Me and Bree are doing something important." I smiled to hide my uneasiness because it's a white lie.

Me and my friend, Bree are not going out today. But it's true that I'm doing something important today. But it's just me and no Bree.

"Your dress is so pretty, Tal." My mom smiled at me complimenting me.

"Thank you." I genuinely smiled at her, pleased that she likes it and find it pretty.

"I have to go," I added as I stood up from my chair.

"Aren't you going to eat?" Dad asked. Authority is visible in his voice.

I smiled politely at him. "No dad. Me and Bree are having breakfast outside."

"Alright, take care." Dad nodded at me.

I smiled once again at them before I turned my back on them and walked towards the door.

"Thalia," My mom called when I was just about to went out of the dining room.

I quickly turned to face them. I found my mom already standing with a cake in her hand.

"Happy Birthday," she greeted looking at me dearly.

"Happy Birthday, Thalia." Dad lit up the candle on top of the cake.

I sniffed. "I thought you two forgot!" I nagged as I walked towards them to give them a hug.

"Of course, not. How can we forget your birthday when you literally the only child we have." Dad chuckled.

My dad is known to be so strict and intimidating and I sometimes get scared at him but seeing him laugh and look at me with pure happiness makes my heart feels so light.

"Make a wish, Tal." Mom enthusiastically held the cake in front of me.

I took a deep breath as I clasped my hands together and deeply closed my eyes.

'I wish for a boyfriend' I whispered in my mind.

I opened my eyes and blow the candle.
