The midday sun was blazing in the sky.

She stood at the door of the bridal shop, looking at the couple kissing each other in the car parked at the roadside, only to feel bone-chilling coldness all over her body.

Today was the day Vanessa and her fiancé had arranged to try on dresses together at the bridal shop, but she hadn't expected to wait half a day for such a scene.

The man kissed the woman passionately with his back facing Vanessa. The woman responded warmly and gave Vanessa a sly smile through the window.

Vanessa felt as though she had been struck by lightning. She didn't expect that her sister was the one flirting with her fiancé!

Tears suddenly rolled down Vanessa's face. She gritted her teeth and felt ashamed and angry.

She was so stupid!

Stefan had sent her a text message five minutes ago, telling her that he couldn't wait to see her in her wedding dress. Vanessa went downstairs to wait for him without even thinking twice.

The wedding dress she was wearing now had become the biggest joke.

Vanessa understood what had happened instantly.

Evelyn was the one who sent her the text message. She wanted her to come down and witness the scene personally so that she can show off to her.

Not only did Evelyn and her mother control her father, they even messed with her fiancé!

What made Vanessa even more disappointed was Stefan’s betrayal.

He knew very well that she hated Evelyn, yet he had colluded with her and stabbed Vanessa in the back.

Vanessa felt as if she had just had a nightmare. She was afraid that her emotions would get out of control and she would act irrationally. Therefore, she had to flee the scene before Stefan found her.

It didn't take long for Evelyn to call Vanessa. Her voice was filled with pride and provocation. "My dear sister, you've seen everything, haven't you? Stefan has always loved me. Therefore, he won't marry you. I won't let him marry you either. He's mine. Just give up!"

For the entire afternoon, Vanessa walked on the streets, dragging her wedding dress in a state of dejection. Her tears were streaming down her face. She was completely unaware of the looks from the passers-by.

As she passed a clubhouse, she walked in and ordered a lot of wine, drinking and crying, as if she tried to completely anesthetize herself with alcohol.

Vanessa was drunk that night and she fell asleep on the sofa in the private room.

The next morning, Vanessa was awoken by her phone’s ringtone.

She picked the call semi-consciously. Before she could speak, Stefan's angry voice came from the other side, "Vanessa, where are you? Do you know that I waited for you at the bridal shop for the whole afternoon yesterday? I think there is no need to get married since you don’t take it seriously!"

Vanessa was awake immediately, her heart was full of sadness and irony.

This marriage... she didn't want to get married since yesterday!

After hanging up the phone, Vanessa went to the bathroom to wash her face. She left the room and was ready to pay the bill.

A tall figure walked towards Vanessa when she arrived at the corridor.

Vanessa did not notice him until the man was close to her. She heard his assistant say respectfully behind him, "President, the chairman told me that your main schedule today is to register with the Watson family's lady at the Civil Affairs Bureau and have a celebration dinner with her."

"I don't have time." The man opened his thin lips slightly, his voice was extremely cold.

"But... the chairman said that you have to get married. If you don't like her, he can send another woman here for you to choose."

The assistant conveyed the words of the old chairman cautiously in cold sweat.

"Humph, he won't give up! Just simply choose any woman in the celebrity circle, as long as it’s not the woman he had chosen. I want him to completely give up."

The man snorted coldly. His actions were extremely swift and decisive.

The assistant was stunned on the spot. "President... you're not kidding, are you?"

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" The man's eyes were cold.

It didn't seem like it!

But... this was still an important matter in life. Wasn't he a little too hasty?

The assistant wanted to say something but stopped himself. He had wanted to persuade him but when he saw his boss's stern expression, he shut his mouth obediently.

At that moment, Vanessa couldn't help herself from looking at the man.

He was an extraordinary man and his facial features were remarkable and exquisite. He had thin lips, a sharp nose and curved eyebrows. His gaze was deep and unpredictable.

He was dressed in a tailored suit that made him look tall and handsome.

He was cold and unapproachable, like a dignified and inviolable king. He exuded a sense of aloofness and his aura was daunting.

Vanessa recognized the man. He was Laurence, the president of the Stormedia Entertainment Corp. He was very well-known in the entertainment circle; however, he was a very low-key person who seldom appeared in public. Vanessa met him once when she was an intern journalist.

She didn't expect to meet him here!

Finding that Laurence had passed her by, Vanessa popped up with a bold plan.

Laurence was looking for someone to get married to. Coincidentally, she was also betrayed by her fiancé. There was no emotional barrier between the two of them. It was possible for them to form a team.

Most importantly, she wanted Evelyn to know that although she had lost Stefan, she would still be able to find an even more outstanding man. On top of that, she also wanted Stefan to regret his actions!

With that in mind, Vanessa immediately stopped Lawrence and said, "President Lawrence, please wait."

Both Laurence and his assistant were stunned by Vanessa's abrupt voice and they turned back at the same time.
