"Sandra! Come here!" Sam's voice was heard as I was going to my car to go home. I looked up before really confirming that it was him. Then I approached and Sam was with some of his friends.

"What is it?" I asked.

"There's a party at Rick's today, do you want to come?"

I looked at Rick who begged me to come to his party. I sighed because I didn't know if I should come or not.

"On what occasion?" I asked Rick more. Because Rick should have invited me, not Sam.

"My birthday. Come over, Sandra," Rick replied.

"Your birthday was a few days ago, Rick. Why are you making your party now?" I asked annoyed.

"Oh come on, Sandra! Tomorrow's a day off, you know, the long weekend. So I'm throwing a party at night."

I sighed and looked at Sam. Then I gave a look that I didn't want to come. So I gave a simple look there was also Rick.

"I can't promise that," I answered him.

I turned and walked back to my car. But Sam grabbed my hand when I turned around and knew it was him. For a few moments, we looked at each other until the sound of some of his friends' shouts pulled me out of Sam's grasp.

"You did it on purpose, didn't you?" I whispered embarrassedly.

"Are you coming or not?" he asked.

"No. Why should I come? I'd rather have the books I haven't read than a party, Sam," I replied.

"You're going to disappoint him. You know, he's excited about the party. At least come and show your face. That's all."

I sighed again and looked at Rick who was staring at us. I shook my head because I had a stand against what I should have refused.

"I have to go home. Are you coming or not?" I said divert.

"Go home then," he said.

"Sam, are you mad?"

"No."

"Okay, bye, Sam!"

I turned around again and now there's nothing to stop me. It's useless if he forces me because I always insist on my will. After I started the car and fixed my eyes on Sam, I left campus with a smile and a wave of my hand.

The knock on the apartment took me by surprise. How come? I was seriously reading a book and was startled by the sound of the door. Moreover, I live alone in this apartment.

I put on my cardigan and reveal who's visiting on a night like this.

Sam was standing in front of me in his neat clothes. Looks like he's going to Rick's party. But why did he come here?

"You don't want me to come in?" he asked.

I almost forgot because I was struggling with my thoughts. I shifted my body and let him in then I closed the door.

"What brought you here?" I asked.

"Waiting for the party to start. I asked Berlin along, but she hasn't called me to pick her up."

I grabbed a can of soda and gave it to Sam. Berlin is his girlfriend. But they don't look like a couple.

"Maybe she's out with a friend or her new boyfriend," I said casually.

"No, she'll call me," he insisted.

I shrugged my shoulders and went back to reading the book. But of course, I couldn't concentrate on reading the book while Sam's eyes kept staring at me.

"What is it?" I asked annoyed.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?"

"No. You've already invited Berlin."

"I can cancel it for you, Sandra."

"Don't I don't want to be a nuisance in your relationship. So go ahead. You know I'm not interested in parties anyway."

Sam didn't reply to me. All he did was keep looking at me like I was his prey.

I, who was embarrassed to be looked at, finally stood up and tried to find something in the kitchen. Looks like a small snack will relieve my nervousness a bit.

"What are you looking for?" asked Sam who followed me into the kitchen.

"Snacks. You want something to eat, right?"

There was no answer from Sam until I turned around and was surprised that he was behind me. For a split second, we looked at each other and didn't move at all. This had happened many times, but of course this time it made my heart skip a beat.

"Scented," he said, sniffing at the nape of my neck.

The closer it gets, the crazier it drives me. Any woman would feel aroused if treated this way.

"Sam," I whispered.

Now Sam is looking at me. We were so close and I could feel the sting of his touch on my body.

Without permission, without a word, Sam lands his lips on mine. We kissed for a few minutes and strangely I replied to it. My first kiss was snatched away by Sam tonight. Damn it!
