Elara Fynn had everything she thought she wanted: a marriage to a man she loved, wealth, and independence. But on their fifth wedding anniversary, everything shatters. She discovers that Edward, her husband, has been betraying her with her sister-in-law, Tina. Will she leave the man she once trusted with her heart after uncovering such a shocking betrayal? Edward faces the consequences of his actions. Stripped of all his inheritance by his father, everything is handed to Timothy, his elder brother, as compensation for Edward’s disgrace. Will Edward lose all he has worked for and ever recover the life he once controlled? A year later, fate reunites Elara and Timothy at a business conference. He offers her love, protection, and a second chance at happiness. Will she say yes and allow herself a second chance at happiness, despite everything that happened in her past? Can she open her heart again, or is revenge the only justice that will heal her? As Elara navigates betrayal, ambition, and desire, she must decide between love and retribution. Will she claim the life she deserves and find happiness beyond the wreckage Edward left behind? Or will the shadows of the past define her forever? Betrayal, heartbreak, revenge, and redemption collide in a story where one woman’s courage changes everything.

Five years into their marriage, Elara Fynn handed the divorce papers to her husband Edward Cole on their wedding anniversary dinner night.

She wanted everyone to know that her darling husband, who has always been known as calm, respected, and a golden child to his mother, had been having an affair with his brother’s wife, Tina Wilson.

Elara Fynn had always been the busy type, money-minded. Even though she was married to a wealthy man and also from a rich home, she loved to be independent and work to earn herself a good life.

Edward had been away for months on business trips. Elara was happy to welcome him home as he was coming back three days before their wedding anniversary. This happens once in a blue moon, as he is hardly around during those special days.

Unknown to him, Elara went to the airport early before his plane arrived. After two hours of waiting, his flight was finally in, so she stood up holding a black bouquet of roses with his name boldly written on a card so he could easily identify her. But the shocking part was when she saw her sister-in-law at the other end, holding a card with her husband’s name on it. She hid to see what was going on, only to see her husband walking toward Tina with a big smile, giving her a tight hug and sharing passionate kisses.

Watching them leave, Elara drove quietly behind them just to find out they were heading to one of Edward’s penthouses that was barely used by them unless they needed time alone. She parked her car at the far end, watching them kiss as they walked into the house like couples who hadn’t seen each other in ages. She waited until they locked the door so she could peep and listen to whatever was about to happen at the back window.

“We need to hurry up as I told my wife I’d be home in two hours,” Edward said to Tina as they undressed themselves.

“You bad boy, that’s why I can’t get enough of you,” she said as she leaned in. Giving herself to Edward as he sucked her n******s.

Elara stood there all that time to confirm what was going on. Outside the room, Elara ran to her car and drove to the house as she couldn’t endure what she had just witnessed. She was shaking uncontrollably, her hands trembling as she struggled to believe what she had seen. Never had she ever thought her husband would cheat on her, let alone with her sister-in-law.

Elara had always seen Tina as a big sister and a friend she could talk to since Tina had been married into the Cole family before her.

She wept her heart out, screamed, and shouted until she was satisfied. Elara made sure he wouldn’t find her upset when he returned. She hurriedly took her bath, cleaned up, and wore her best nightgown to welcome her “darling” husband. She stood by the window upstairs, watching Edward drive into the yard in a Maybach exactly two hours as he said.

“He’s really time-conscious, that’s why I never suspected or caught him all these years,” Elara whispered to herself. She swallowed every pain and pretended everything was fine. She walked downstairs with a big smile to welcome him.

“Oh honey, I’ve really missed you,” Edward said as he pulled her close for a hug, kissing her forehead as he meant it.

Elara wished she could scream, vent, or even confront him, but she held herself together. This wasn’t the perfect time, not yet.

“I had the cook make your favorite. Go take a shower and come downstairs,” she said, watching him walk up to their room like an innocent man with a heavy heart.

She quickly walked to one of their guest rooms and dialed her sister’s number, Valentina Fynn, who was a lawyer, to arrange the divorce papers for her.

“Elara, are you sure you want this? You know I’d always support you,” Valentina said with concern. “But…”

“No, but Val,” Elara cut her off before she could complete her statement. “I’m very sure of this. I can’t watch a man I’ve loved all these years humiliate me by being unfaithful to a woman I call a sister. This is too much, I can’t.” She spoke boldly, surprised by how quickly and easily the words came out.

“Okay, I’ll bring them tomorrow evening,” Val responded. Elara walked out to sit at the dining table to wait for Edward so he could join her for dinner.

“Oh dear, the flight was really stressful. I’m happy I’m home now,” Edward said as he walked down the stairs to the table. Elara couldn’t look at his face, still in disbelief over what had happened. They ate without their usual chit-chat where Elara would ask him how his business trip went. Edward was surprised, as this was the first time this had happened, but he said nothing until they went to bed.

Edward tried to touch his wife. “Baby I miss you, we haven’t made love in months,” he said, as Elara kept moving away whenever he tried.

“Is everything okay?” he asked but received no answer. They both slept without her saying a word.
