The neon lights flickered to life as night fell.

Inside the rowdy nightclub, laughter and pounding music drowned out all reason, while seductive figures swayed wildly under the pulsing lights. Yet amidst the chaos, one man sat quietly in the corner—unassuming, detached.

Dressed in a plain white T-shirt and casual trousers, his fair complexion and striking features stood out. His clear, piercing gaze held an undeniable magnetism, though his aloof demeanor kept others at bay. With nothing but a drink in hand, he leaned against the sofa, his expression solemn as he watched Lin Yiran on stage, her movements exaggerated with drunken abandon.

As the song ended, Lin Yiran stumbled onto a chair, barely steadying herself before raising a hand in dramatic flourish.

"I... Lin Yiran... am up for auction!" she slurred, waving her jacket wildly. Clad in a black tank top and shorts that barely covered her thighs, her long, pale legs gleamed under the club lights.

The crowd erupted—cheers, drumbeats, and DJ beats blending into a cacophony of excitement. Whispers slithered through the noise.

"Isn't that the Lin family’s eldest daughter? Just got divorced, I heard. Kicked out by her husband’s family."

"The Chen family owns one of the biggest liquor empires in the country. No surprise they dumped her, acting like this."

Lin Yiran’s sharp ears caught the murmurs. She pointed at two hecklers and burst into laughter. "You—and you! You’re damn right! I, Lin Yiran, am the Lin family’s precious daughter! The same Lin Yiran who just divorced that bastard Chen Yuyang!"

Her face flushed crimson, but not a trace of shame or fear flickered in her eyes. With a defiant grin, she flung her jacket into the crowd.

"Single and ready to mingle! Starting bid—500 bucks! Who wants me? Tonight, I’ll keep you company. Tomorrow, you marry me!"

"Whoa—!"

"Hell yeah! I’m in!"

Whistles cut through the air, voices roared, and the DJ cranked up the beat, fueling the frenzy.

"Ah... bidding, haha..."

"Ten thousand..."

"Don't embarrass yourself. She's backed by the Lin family—make it a hundred thousand..."

Lin Yiran's laughter rang out continuously, her long hair fluttering wildly around her.

In the corner, a man's eyes darkened with menace, his brows deeply furrowed. His fingers clenched around his glass so tightly it seemed ready to shatter, his gaze sharp enough to kill.

Without taking his eyes off the stage, he merely raised a hand. His personal assistant, standing near the sofa not far away, immediately approached.

"Take her away," the man said coldly, thrusting a check into the assistant's hand.

The sound of bidding gradually drowned out Lin Yiran's hearing, fading into a blur. Her mind seemed filled only with music, curses, sobs, and chaotic noise.

"Six million," the assistant suddenly called out, dressed impeccably in a tailored suit and tie.

The crowd erupted in murmurs, all eyes turning toward him.

Most probably knew this was just a joke—taking advantage of Lin Yiran's drunken state for a little fun was the best they could hope for. Who would take it seriously and bid so high?

Following the crowd's gaze, Lin Yiran spotted the assistant. Her expression flickered between surprise and drunken confusion as she yanked the microphone away and staggered toward him.

"You... you're not bad-looking, but this outfit... barely worth fifty grand. Can you even afford it?" She shot him a disdainful glance, letting out a mocking laugh. Just as she turned to leave, the assistant produced the check.

Lin Yiran frowned, snatching it from him in disbelief. "Ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand..."

Before she could finish counting, the man had already gripped her arm, shielding her as they pushed through the crowd, leaving behind a trail of hushed whispers in the nightclub.

"Hey—where are you dragging me? I... I wasn't done counting yet!" Lin Yiran stumbled unsteadily as Cheng Xu escorted her out of the bar, heading straight for a sleek black car.
