Introduction
In love, the word “forever” doesn’t truly exist. “They lived happily ever after ” only exists in fairytales. Rose curled on her bed upon hearing the door of their bedroom close. That means that Philip left for work. With this realisation, tears raced down her cheeks as she let out that agony and pain that she has suppressed in her heart a moment ago. She has been fighting her eyes not to cry in front of her husband or else, she would look like a defeated “mistress in distress” as he would put it. Mistress. Huh! That’s how her own husband calls her, his “mistress”. If so, then who’s his legal wife? Her chest tightened upon that thought. She and Philip have only been married for a year but she already felt the sorrow in a loveless marriage. Too bad she can’t divorce him. Too bad she can’t just leave him alone. Too bad she can’t run away somewhere and hide forever. Too bad... Hik! Hik! She sobbed her heart out. What happened to the “dream married life” she had before? She never desired for a wealthy or famous husband. All she ever wanted is one who could give her love and a happy home. Is it a big sin to desire for that? What has she ever done to deserve this sorrowful married life?

  Philip's POV

Philip looked outside his car and stared at his house right before him. He has already parked his car in the garage but he has no plans to step out. He has been sitting inside the car for almost an hour but his body seems too heavy for his feet to carry him inside his once "dream home" suddenly shattered by this shock that he is experiencing with his wife, Rose Williams-Petersen. Thinking of her, he let out a heavy sigh.

It was a mistake. No, "SHE" was a mistake. Rather, marrying her was the worst mistake he has ever made. In life, he is an achiever, a go-getter, a smart, quick-witted and amazingly intelligent businessman. In short, he is a legend. How come he married a weak-willed woman, one who cries simply because she feels she has no other options in life? She is so unreasonable and stupid. Worst, she is so emotional. She cries at almost everything that he says to her. Whatever happened to that smart and dashing lady he met at his bestfriend's welcome party?

Yes, he met her at his bestfriend, Hunter's welcome party. It happened last year, two months before they got married. That moment was magical. He saw her chatting with Hunter in the middle of the party and his world seemed to have stopped from that time on. His eyes were totally locked on to her seamless figure outlined by her silk purple gown. Her face, resembling that of a barbie doll, completely caught his eyes. What's more, she has this air of elegance around her, an aura that simply invites everybody's eyes to be set on her lovely face.

"Philip!" Hunter shouted as he grinned upon seeing him. "Philip! Come over here, buddy!"

Hunter's voice brought him to the present. Shaking his head, he walked towards him and gave his bestfriend a tight hug.

"How've you been? I haven't seen you in ages!" Hunter said, almost shouting.

He smiled. Hunter never changed. Inspite of staying abroad for five whole years, his personality remained the same. He is still this easygoing and lively man he knew ever since.

"Oh, I want you to meet someone," he whispered.

He stared at his face and frowned. By the tone of his voice, this "someone" doesn't seem to be just an acquaintance.

"Rose, meet my bestfriend, Philip," he started as his eyes shifted from him to someone at his back. "Philip, this is my friend and my lawyer, Atty. Rose Williams."

His head turned to see the dashing appearance that caught his eyes a moment earlier.

  She smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you, Philip," she said and extended her hand. "I've heard so much about you."

"Oh..." he said and threw Hunter a quick glance. "I hope not all are negative," he replied.

"Oh, no, no, absolutely not," she said as she let out a soft laugh. "You were Hunter's favorite subject all the time."

He smiled while shaking his head.

"I never realized I am this loved," he said and threw a quick glance towards Hunter who is grinning once again.

"Hunter! Happy birthday!" someone suddenly shouted and pulled him out of the scene leaving him and Rose to spend the whole night together.

That was when it all started. That was the time he "fell" into her witty arguments, her "smart" brains and her charm. He fell completely in love with her that he was even willing to trade his bestfriend just to win her love. Yes, he went against his family and friends' wishes just to marry her. He literally went against his whole world just for the sake of fighting for his love. Then, he called it "love" but he is not sure now.

Opening his eyes, he opened the door and went out. Letting out one last sigh, he walked towards his house's door and entered in.

"Good evening, sir," a maid greeted.

He looked at her in recognition of her greeting but didn't answer. Scanning the visible parts of the house, he cannot see his wife. His house is empty.

"Sir, Mrs. Petersen is in your bedroom," the maid answered upon looking at his reaction.

"Did she eat dinner?" he asked out of curiosity.

"No, sir. She also didn't eat breakfast and lunch today."

He frowned. What's going on with this wife of his? Shaking his head, he walked towards their bedroom. Opening the door, he can see her figure all wrapped in a blanket. She is curling on the bed. Letting out a heavy sigh for the third time, he walked towards the dressing room and changed his clothes. Going straight to the bathroom, he took a quick shower and put on his pajamas. Slowly, he lied down next to her and pulled a piece of the blanket to cover his body.

An hour passed but sleep is almost impossible. He has been lying there awake, thinking of all that happened to his life. Beside him is a breathing time bomb. Turning his eyes on her covered figure, he can't help but sigh again. You call this a home? He said to her on his mind. You call this empty shell a warm home when I can't even make myself enter in when I know you are still awake?
