Paris.

Jason Family Residence.

Valarie, clothed in a white wedding dress, sits on a red bridal bed, waiting for her groom.

The door to the bridal chamber opened. Damon walked in.

"Brother," Valarie questioned with a smile, "Why aren't you downstairs greeting the guests? What are you doing up here?"

Damon glanced at the others in the room, saying, "You all, step outside for a moment."

Upon hearing this, everyone exited the chamber, leaving only Damon and Valarie alone.

"Brother, is something wrong?" Valarie eyed her brother. His demeanor made her slightly uneasy. Surely something hadn't happened, had it?

But today was her wedding day, a day of great celebration for a marriage alliance between the Jason family and the Spencer family. What could possibly go wrong?

Damon looked at Valarie, saying, "There are two pieces of news - good news and bad news. Which would you prefer to hear first?"

Valarie:On her joyous wedding day, there was actually bad news?

"…The bad news," Valarie replied.

Damon looked at her evenly, announcing, "Clark has run away."

"What?!!!” Valarie was so shocked she almost sprung off the bed. Runaway bridegroom? On her joyous wedding day, the groom had run off?

"What... what can she do?"

Valarie was in a state of extreme anxiety. It wasn't that she cared much for Clark, but rather, Clark had fled from their wedding, leaving her alone. How was she supposed to handle the aftermath?

"What's your problem?" Damon looked at Valarie and asked with a smile.

In return, Valarie glared at him, "Of course you're not anxious. You're not the one being jilted at the altar."

She could surely manage to stay as calm as her brother if she were not the one being left at the altar. In fact, she might even be able to enjoy a good laugh at that.

Damon teased her nonchalantly, "Isn't there some good news too?"

Valarie, taken aback, looked at him, cautiously probing," ...Brother, the good news can't possibly be that Clark was caught and brought back, right?"

To her, that definitely wasn't good news, was it?

What did he take her for?

Proposing to her when he wanted to marry, and fleeing when he didn't want to?

Now, intending to marry again, so he comes swarming back?

How could there possibly be such good things in this world?

"No." Damon said.

Valarie heaved a sigh of relief, then asked again, "So what's the good news?"

Could it be that the Jason family and Spencer family have decided to cancel the wedding?

"Spencer family has decided that Jeffrey will replace Clark, fulfilling the marriage contract with you," Damon said with a smile.

"……!!!"

Jeffrey?

Clark's junior uncle?

The old man's last child?

"Elder brother… are you sure this is good news for me?" Valarie said, giving her brother a resentful look.

Doesn't her elder brother know that she and Jeffrey are sworn enemies?

Damon said with a smile, "Why wouldn't it be? Though Clark fled from the wedding, the marriage alliance between Spencer family and Jason family must continue. Jeffrey marrying you, maintaining the interests of both families. For you and for Jason family, it's all good news."

"I refuse, I don't want Jeffrey. I want someone else," she said.

She was not about to create unpleasantness for herself.

Damon laughed dismissively and gave her a look, "Do you think you’re shopping at a club picking models? If this one doesn't work, pick another? Who would you change him for? With Clark absent, aside from Jeffrey the Spencer family only has the underage Rowan remaining."

Valarie nodded and said, "Rowan is fine."

Although he's underage, he's still a handsome 17-year-old guy. She's okay with that, she doesn't mind.

Damon laughed and berated, "Sure, you might be okay with it. As long as he's handsome, any guy from the last 5000 years can be your pick, but Rowan will not be okay with it. Oh, I forgot to tell you, after Rowan heard that Clark ran away, he volunteered to go look for him. I'm guessing... Rowan probably figured out he would be the scapegoat, so he also ran away."

Valarie:She’s furious!

The Spencer family was downright bullying to an extreme extent!

Was getting married to her, a beauty with fair skin and long legs from a wealthy family, like being made a scapegoat?

Clear as day that it was like a pie falling from the sky, right?

“Therefore…the Spencer family currently only has Jeffrey left, you cannot replace him.” Damon said.

Valarie:Indeed, it’s like heaven wants to doom her.

“Brother… don’t you understand that Jeffrey and I are archenemies?” Valarie questioned.

Damon nodded: “I know, but there are no real conflicts between you and Jeffrey. The reason why you both are archenemies is because you are Clark's fiancee. You stand on the same ground as Clark and compete with Jeffrey for the power of the Spencer family. But, think about it, as long as you marry Jeffrey, then you and Jeffrey will be on the same side, and Clark will become your archenemy. What about it? Don’t you want to knock down Clark?”

Valarie: She does.

She always has clear likes and dislikes and a hatred for evil. Clark ran away on their wedding day, which was like slapping her beautiful face hard twice.

One should never hit a person's face.

Let alone her face, known as the most beautiful in Paris. This insult, she couldn’t swallow that.

“Think about it.” Damon continued to instigate Valarie. “If you really marry Jeffrey, then you will be Clark's aunt. In the future, if you hit and scold Clark, it'll be seen as disciplining a disobedient junior, and no one will say a word against you.”

"But seriously, Val," Damon added with a grin, "you'll make an amazing aunt. Clark could use a fun and feisty influence in his life. And who knows, maybe you'll even teach him a thing or two about standing up for himself!

Valarie rolled her eyes, a wry smile spreading across her face. "
