He hit the pillow with his head and he rolled over the bed. Like it was not enough for him, he pushed the mattress down by his stomach and he squeezed his big pillow. He wished tears to wet his cheeks but his eyes denied him; they remained dry. He then screamed loudly, hoping someone to come for his rescue but he was alone, no-one was going to save him from his emotions which were draining him down.

He jumped off from the bed and he took his bandaged Samsung galaxy phone from the bedside table; it had a transparent cello-tape wrapped on it to hold the battery. He pressed the power button and he fastly clicked to her pictures; his heart throbbed very fast, he wished to go straight to her but she was already angry at him and she was far in her college. He forced his fair posture going to his locker; he took out the first letter that she wrote for him when they first laid eyes on each other. The words from the letter touched his cheeks with a smile which flickered the moment he started to read the letter word after word. It was a well penned letter, and emotions were colorfully labeled on a piece of paper; she wrote it when she was confessing her love to him for the first time. When the words settled in his head, he felt like she was next to him as he heard her voices in his head, but it was only fantasy; she wasn’t even with him.

When he was still smiling at the white paper on his hands, his phone buzzed and he knew it was a message. He fastly gazed at his phone, thinking it was message from her but his face soured instantly when he read Chen’s name. She was the reason for their misunderstanding. He read the message and he felt speared at heart as Chen wanted to come over to him despite knowing his situation.

“Go to hell Chen!” he shouted in anger, throwing the phone onto the bed.

Max was a young man in his twenties. He was very intelligent and he had a sober personality which made him to date many girls at once without them realizing; few people will be aware of his social life. He was not living a secret life just that he was an introvert sometimes. Before going to high school, he was afraid of approaching girls even though some were going crazy of his intelligence. He also had few friends; he was a novel cat-books were his best friends for entertainment. But, nevertheless, all that changed when he was at a school seminar, he saw a beautiful sharp girl and he felt his heart jumping straight to the world of love; he couldn’t let his fears drag him down. He went straight to approach her and to his surprise, the girl gestured positively to their conversation even though he didn’t get her name even though he tried to persuade her. The girl was looking very shy when he was talking with her; she couldn’t blink twice staring at him. He then took her phone number and they promised to be talking over the phone. The craziest thing, he saved her phone number as ‘Dolphin’ because she told him to call her with that name; she liked to watch Dolphin cartoons.

After about a month, she wrote a well colored letter expressing her feelings for him. The letter was accompanied by her perfect pictures and it was signed with her name, she was Nixie. The letter caught Max with a surprise. He didn’t anticipate it and she didn’t even tell him about the letter since they were talking over the phone. He opened the letter after fantasizing staring at her pictures. He felt like screaming when he knew he was in love, it was his wish to have a girl who was going to love him like he yearned to love. His ballooned as it was being brushed by the breeze of the love. His love with Nixie became his first love at high school.

Nixie was learning from a distant school from his and they used to see each other during holidays or in the seminars just like the one which glistened with their love. Their love knew no distance; it was always burning over the phones with no boundaries. When girls heard that Max was in a relationship with Nixie, they started to send him some cards expressing their love but Max was ears locked; he didn’t want to disappoint Nixie. She was taller than him, light skinned than him and more talkative to an extent that she was talking over a mile without giving Max a chance talk; Max adored her behavior, she was more energetic like a dolphin for sure. Her long simply face with hazel eyes made him to fall in love with her even more.

As time went, their die hard love started to have some loops. Max was starting to long for physical love and to have a relationship within the school. He wanted to have a girl who was going to visit him during weekends as he was staying alone. His parents were in India and he rented a room which was closer to the school.

During his last year at high school, he lusted for a girl, Munoz who was new in the school and he couldn’t control himself; he approached her, but unfortunately the girl befriended him, after that she became in love with his long distance buddy. He felt crushed at heart, but he chose to ignore it just to maintain a good relationship with his friend and to accommodate his new friendship with Munoz.

Max didn’t stop his behavior and the rumors reached Nixie’s ears but he denied everything and he managed to convince Nixie otherwise. Despite his actions, he loved Nixie the most; he didn’t want to hurt her so he was trying by all means to cover his tracks. Nixie was the girl who acted real with him and he liked that. Their love continued until college and things get worse when Nixie moved to a far college while Max remained in the town. Max couldn’t stand it despite his love for her and their three year relationship. He started to do some quickies with other girls in the town until he met Diana. She was an introvert just like him and she was very tight-she was a girl of principles; she didn’t even allow Max to go deep with her in romance. Max didn’t care about Diana’s principles; he only wanted to have a girlfriend who was at the same college as him so they jumped into it. Max’s friends also started to love Diana more than Nixie but Max loved both his girlfriends equally.

He tried by all means to cover his tracks, but Chen exploded everything to Nixie. She didn’t like it when Max dated Diana and she used to see her visit Max in his room since she was staying next to Max’s house. So she planned to betray Max by telling Nixie everything that Max was doing and Max was really in hot soup.

Max was still standing next to his locker, thinking of a way to convince Nixie otherwise but he had reached the end of his thoughts. He folded the letter and he returned it to the locker. The memories with Nixie intruded in his head and it crushed him more. They used to go in late nights for dinner and walk under the dim light of the moon staring at the heavens twinkling with beautiful stars; they used to have special holidays and he didn’t believe it was about to end. The tears traced his cheeks; he didn’t know how to stop what was happening. Chen planted a bomb on his chest and it was going to rapture him.

He went to pick his phone from the bed and he clicked straight to the last voice note that was sent by Nixie. He squeezed the phone to his ears as he listened Nixie’s words:

"Max, why did you hurt me like this? I trusted you. I thought we were going to grow older together. I was even ready to give myself to you, but you turned to be blunt in no turn. Please don't be an onion in my life; I have cried a lot because of your actions. I never even doubted you but you acted so irresponsible; you disappointed me Max. Try to change or leave me alone at once. For now, please don't talk to me I need time..."

Her voice was breaking when she was talking; she was crying. She trusted Max overly but he hurt her.

After listening to her words, Max walked to stand in front of the window. He looked at the view outside, there was a beautiful floral garden closer to his room and it was where he was working on his free periods so that he was going to get some cents. He stood for about ten minutes staring outside as the thoughts ruled in his head.

He was trying by all means to stop Nixie from breaking up with him but he was helplessly.
