Plotted Attack

The atmosphere seems calm today but was cloudless; King Abner got recognised at the meeting hall, each head of the Blue Crescent around the world from each district observed the urgent meeting; some came with their private flight, some postponed whatever they were to do, to meet up with the vital discussion, the King announced.

This is how well they all respected the king.

But we all know running such responsibility is not as easy as we see it, they are times they get their hands dirty.

"Wonderful Crescent, I admire your response to be here despite that the announcement of the meeting came today," King Abner said, walking to his royal seat while the rest stood on their feet, bowing their head for the King to take his seat.

" Once I again, I appreciate your coming; you can all sit down for us to discuss the matter at hand," he added.

"It has come to my attention that most of us are selling in gold in the black market without giving me my percentage and secondly a village in Nigeria, where golds got discovered, so which of you wishes to betray me", he said smiling. Still, they wrote the fear on their faces.

Each boss stared at their selves, but one of them was already sweating on his forehead, and he quickly rose and hurried to the King; everyone guessed he craved to harm the king, so they held out their weapons.

He fell on his knee and started pleading with the King," I'm sorry, my King, I was planning to pay my loyalty to you, but something else possessed my mind that made me neglect it, please have mercy", he almost wept.

The King peeked at his guards, who understood his signal; they took the person begging and hauled him up, then placed his finger on the table close to the king; he dare not struggle with them.

The King brought out his favourite gadget, his knife, and said, " No one dares forget what is supposed to get done ", he raised the knife to stab his hand.

He cried out in fear only to see the knife was in between his fingers, a narrow escape," If you don't pay your dues now till the end of today, you will lose your head," the king said.

"Now find out about the gold and let the people know, the money got saved, you can all go," he concluded the meeting.

King Abner's sons were seen playing at the playground, Darius the elder brother of Balthasar, sat across from his Junior brother playing the chess game.

" Checkmate, I won," said Darius smiling.

"But why didn't I win brother," Balthasar said with sadness.

He went close to his brother and explained," You know the King is always weak, but with his Queen, Bishop, and Knight, you can protect him, but it's just a game, but in reality, the King is always powerful".

"That means our father is mighty", he asked.

" Yes his powerful but without these people have mentioned earlier, without them, he becomes prey, but that can't happen; we will protect our family together, always and forever," he swore.

"Always and forever, I love you, brother, and thanks for being my elder brother" he hugged Darius.

Then Freya, the daughter of King Abner's trusted men, came in and walked to the presence of Darius and his younger brother.

" Seems your best friend is here," Darius said to his brother, and he got up to hug her.

"Hi, Darius and Balthasar," Freya said, smiling.

" Freya, when I become King, I will make sure my brother marries you and will punish any lady that comes his way in the future," Darius said to her, and they all laughed.

Darius knows his younger brother likes her so much, and he wished when they grow up and become more mature, he would still like her.

"Okay, I will join father now; you two should play together," he said before leaving.

Balthasar and Freya engaged in playing the hide and seek game.

" I got you," he said to Freya.

"I know you cheated; how did you find me so easily," she asked.

" Because royalty flows in my vein," he uttered to her.

"Freya, I will marry you someday, " he announced to her.

" My father is here already," she said.

Then her father came in and said, "Freya, time to go, your brother is waiting for you in the car."

"Bye, Balthasar will come to see you when next my father's visit," She said to him before leaving, and he waved at her.

" My Prince, I take my leave now", her father did some respect for the little Prince.

Balthasar played a prank on him, saying, "Is that a scorpion on your cloth" Freya's father reacted in fear, and Balthasar started laughing at him.

" Silly child", He said silently before leaving.

The King explained some things about the Crescent to his son before his lovely wife put them to sleep.

At midnight, King Abner's home got ambushed, his men tried fighting those that invaded his house.

Then he noticed even some of his men were working with the invaders, his wife and one of his sons entered an empty room to hide, but they saw them.

"Who sent you? How dare you invade the King's home", he said with authority after some lives were lost.

" I did, and you are no king to me", Anwyll said, revealing himself.

"You, you dare betray me; you can never sit on what doesn't belong to you?" The King said in pain because he was severely injured.

" Agree you lost, Checkmate, all your subjects listen to me now, even your men listen to me, I will take over the throne, and tonight you take your last breath," he said, hitting king Abner.

"You can kill me but spare my family, spare their innocence."

" Hell no, I'm going to wipe out your family and make sure no one is left even to remember you; the world will forget you."

He brought out his sword and killed one of the king's sons, Darius, and the King cried; he pierced the blade in the king's heart and ordered the King's right man to go into the empty room and kill the wife and the other son Balthasar.

He came back with blood in his hands, and then he said, "Mission accomplished".

"I know you will serve me well, now burn down the whole building, the world should tag this as a fire incident after which you call an urgent meeting for the Blue Crescent to meet the new King, I've long been waiting for this," he said laughing evilly.

They burnt down the king's home.

The traitor Anwyll believe they were no survival of the late king family.

Unknown to him, the right king man he ordered to kill the Queen, and Balthasar didn't kill them because he is the queen's cousin. Instead, he gave them a note and address in the letter on who to meet that will help them, he told them to show the person known as 'Chairman' the message, and he will know what to do.

He waited for them to escape through a secret door, and he killed one of the Anwyll men and stained his sword with the blood returning to the traitor that he has carried the task.

Balthasar and his mother located the chairman's residence, and he took them in to help them after seeing the note.
