Scarlett's POV

I quivered as he slid one hand on the back of my neck and caressed my cheek with another. He slowly lowered his head pulling my face closer and kissed me passionately. At first I felt surprised, and my eyes widened a little as I felt his lips against mine, but then I slowly closed my eyes in pleasure. I wanted more so I parted my lips as a moan escaped my mouth as he bit on my lower lip asking for permission.

I guess, this is how a mate feels like!

Then another man joined, claiming that he was my mate as well. What surprised me more was that I didn't resist as he roamed his hands all over my body, from my arms to my belly. As his fingers trailed down to my private part and touched my already wet folds, I felt tingles running down my spine and my core became more inviting.

"Scarlet, wake up! It's your first day, you don't want to be late."

Mom's high-pitched sound drew me from the weird dream to reality.

I shook my head to clear this weird picture out of my head. I haven’t shifted to my wolf since I was 16 years old, although I still could communicate with my wolf, which means that I didn't have the ability to smell my mate. But it didn't bother me much, since my mom comforted me telling me that she still loves me, no matter what happens, and Fate has a way of setting things in order. I cleaned myself quickly and carried my bags downstairs to join my over-excited mom.

Reaching campus, my overly enthusiastic mother pointed at me and yelled to total strangers, “this is my daughter, Scarlet, it's her first day, would you like to be her friend?" I lowered my head and I just wanted to find the dorm room and get this first day over with.

Then I bumped into someone.

"Hey, you're Scarlett, right? "Came a husky smooth voice bringing me out of my thoughts, I looked up, and there stood this hunk of a guy, cheek bones looked like they were sculpted by the gods, he was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans which made him look like an angel with the sun illuminating behind him.

"Yes", I replied with a shaky voice,

"How do you know my name?” I asked, my voice breaking, as a small cool breeze blew by, and I caught a whiff of him, a wolf, I didn’t know that there were other wolfs here, a small smile formed on the corner of his mouth

"How could I not notice the only other wolf here?” He smirked, looking expectantly at me, like he was waiting for me to jump up and down or something. However, maybe I will let him down easy

Since my wolf-less trouble, I was mocked and bullied a lot by the teenage wolves of the pack, so I ran away from them by studying in a human being's university. A wolf was the last thing I wished to see on this campus, not to mention this wolf jumping in front of me suddenly, behaving like we were very close. Hate it!

"Okay but that still doesn't explain how you know my name though", I furrowed my eyebrows

"Your mommy told me!" He pointed at my mom, while his hands were up defensively

Shit! For reasons unknown to me, I was surrounded by his scent very quickly, although the scent was very nice, like the smell of leaves in the forest, I hated it. Because my body was almost frozen, unable to move, and out of my control, I was under his spell, no one ever had such an effect on me. So horrible, I hated this feeling, it felt so safe that it was almost dangerous. But my wolf was very excited about his scent, traitor

"Come to mama!" My wolf snapped

"Shut up, is he our mate?" I said inside under my breath with clenched teeth

"No..." My wolf shook her head upset by that fact, "I don't feel our mate connection"

Okay, I get the whole situation, I know what I should do to get this over-passionate guy out of my life, I need to finish this conversation quickly.

But what happened to me in the future taught me that I shouldn’t trust my wolf. As it turned out that Aiden was indeed my mate and my wolf’s wrong judgment had led us to miss so much.

"Hello? Are you there?" He asked looking at me curiously

"And you are?" I asked, trying to hide the fact that I'm affected by him.

"How rude of me, I'm Aiden," he said putting his hand on his head and revealing his biceps

My wolf was shouting desperately and gave me a headache. Not wanting my wolf to embarrass me even further, I turned and walked away, " I have to go, nice meeting you Aiden”

"But…", Aiden seemed to want to say something, but I ran away immediately and didn't give him such a chance. I dashed around the corner, and turned around, observing him secretly, I can’t believe how handsome he is, he stood still and looked at his hands, very confused. How weird is he?!

"Someone is going to have a hot date!" My mom said nudging me playfully, I don’t know why but I felt accused by her smirk for some reason, and I looked back at her questioningly

Then I heard Aiden yell loudly behind me, "bye Scar, see you later."

I rolled my eyes and thought, how could he call me by my nickname when it was only the first time we had met? And I didn't think I would meet him again, why? You ask. Because I would avoid him as much as I could.

My mom wanted to say hi back, and I quickly covered her mouth, in case Aiden would hear us, after all, wolves have extremely sensitive hearing, and I don't doubt that they would start a new conversation if Aiden caught up to us. So, I dragged my mom to the dorm building before anything else happened.

But after talking with my roommates, I found out why Aiden was so sure that he would see me again. Then I realized that today wasn't the end, but just the beginning of whatever it was between Aiden and me.
