"Urgent! Need a strong, fearless delivery guy ASAP—super important!"

Lucas Foster raised an eyebrow at the note on the order.

Was someone this desperate? Sounded like some lonely middle-aged lady looking for attention…

“What are you spacing out for? Go already!”

Alice Blue gave his helmet a light smack and shot him a look.

Lucas worked part-time as a delivery guy at her bubble tea shop while finishing up his final year at Huahai University. Every afternoon, he came in to make a bit of cash.

“Got it, Alice,” he said, quickly packing the drinks into the box before hopping onto his scooter and speeding off.

Ten minutes later, he pulled up to a ritzy apartment complex.

“Your order’s here!” he called out, knocking gently on the door labeled 901.

The place looked crazy expensive—duplexes going for at least 40k yuan per square meter. Whoever ordered must be rolling in cash…

The door swung open fast. A faint, floral scent drifted out. And then he saw her—a stunning, bare-faced young woman.

Wait… she’s not some random auntie?!

“You’re so slow! I’ve been freaking out! Get in here, quick!”

Wearing pink pajamas, Janelle Marshall grabbed his arm and pulled him inside before he could react.

Okay… this is happening?

She looked like someone who definitely didn’t have trouble finding guys. So why him?

Not that he was complaining, though.

“Uh… I’m just the delivery guy. My boss is waiting for me to clock back in…”

Lucas stammered, clearly caught off guard.

Janelle gave him that big-eyed, pleading look. “I know, I know. Just a minute, really! I just need a little help, pleaseee.”

“…Fine. I’ve got thirty minutes, tops!”

He sighed in surrender.

“Thirty minutes?” Janelle blinked. “You think smashing a cockroach will take that long?”

“A... cockroach?”

Lucas almost passed out.

He’d nearly started taking off his clothes—only to find out she just wanted pest control?

“Yeah, there’s a huge one in the kitchen. I’m freaking out... Why else would I leave such a weird note on the order?”

So in the end, it was all just in his head. No chance encounter, no rom-com moment.

With a face full of disappointment, Lucas walked into the kitchen and squashed the bug hiding near the stove with practiced ease.

Once he chucked the dead roach in the trash, Janelle finally let out a sigh of relief.

“Thank you sooo much! I’ll leave you a five-star review! Bye!”

As he stepped out of 901, still a bit disheartened, a mechanical voice suddenly echoed in his ear."Ding! Supreme Delivery System activated. Congrats, Host! Special delivery completed. Reward: 1 billion Huabi!"

"What system? A billion? Are you kidding me?"

Lucas Foster rolled his eyes, thinking someone was pulling a prank on him.

Just then, his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen—a text message had popped up.

"Dear customer, your account ending in 9527 has received a deposit of 1,000,000,000 Huabi. Current balance: 1,000,000,2100 Huabi."

No way. This… this was real?

Lucas pinched his cheek hard. It hurt. Not a dream. The system was real!

Okay, breathe. Chill. Now I’ve got a cheat code. A billion Huabi? That’s just the beginning…

Just as he was trying to keep his cool, his phone rang again—his mom was calling.

"Son, I need to talk to you. Your uncle needs money for some business deal. I'm tight on cash… can we delay your allowance for next month?"

Lucas instantly got the picture.

That uncle of his? Expert at splurging on games and booze, but when it came to business? Total rookie.

His mom was back to supporting her brother again. Probably had another fight with Dad and now had no choice but to call him for help.

"Mom, don’t stress. I won a little cash in the lottery last week. I’ll drop by the bank and transfer you 20,000 to get through."

He kept the amount vague. Telling her about a billion would probably freak her out.

Call ended, Lucas turned around and gunned his e-bike toward the nearest bank.

His mom didn’t use online banking, still clung to that ancient passbook. He had to do the transfer at the counter.

Inside, the bank was packed. He pulled a number, then checked it—over 50 ahead of him.

Only two regular counters were open. At this pace, he’d still be waiting when the moon came out.

"Damn it… if I wait here, Alice Blue's probably gonna think I vanished!"

Left with no better option, he made his way into the sleek, quiet VIP area. One counter. No line.

He sat down, but the well-dressed female clerk immediately gave him a frosty look like he didn’t belong there.

"Hey, we didn’t order delivery. Don’t just sit around here clogging up the space!"

"I’m here for a transaction," Lucas replied, unfazed.

The clerk raised a brow. "You?"

"Yeah, I need to transfer 20,000." He handed over his card.

"This is the VIP counter. We only handle amounts over 100,000," she said coolly. "Please use the self-service machines or queue up outside."

"It’s packed out there, and I'm in a rush," Lucas said.

"Sorry, rules are rules. If we bent them for everyone, there’d be chaos."

At that moment, a portly man with a round belly stepped up to the counter."Hey buddy, this isn’t your spot. Go queue outside."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Lowell!"

The moment the teller saw the middle-aged man, her whole face lit up with a flattering smile.

"Xiao Xu, get me 80K in cash. Fast."

Mr. Lowell tossed his card on the counter without even looking.

"Of course, right away!"

She was all smiles as she reached for the card—only for Lucas Foster to block her hand.

"Excuse me, miss, didn’t you just say only transactions over 100K can be handled here? And also, ever heard of ‘first come, first served’?"

"Sorry, Mr. Lowell is one of our Platinum VIP clients. That rule doesn’t apply to him," she snapped coldly. "You’re not supposed to be here. If you don’t leave now, I’ll have to call security."

Mr. Lowell glanced dismissively at Lucas, sneering like he was watching a joke.

A delivery guy trying to make trouble for him? Ridiculous.

"Xiao Xu, my supplier’s waiting for the deposit. Don’t waste my time."

"Don’t worry, Mr. Lowell, I’ve got this!"

The teller hit a button under the desk, and moments later, two beefy security guards came striding in.

"What’s going on, Miss Xu?"

She pointed straight at Lucas. "Mr. Dalton, this delivery guy's causing a scene. Please get him out of here. Don’t let him hold up Mr. Lowell."

"Kid, this isn’t where you belong. Leave now, or we’ll make you."

Mr. Dalton patted the stun baton on his belt for emphasis.

Lucas smiled calmly. "Well, since transactions under 100K aren’t worth your time, let’s make it interesting. Help me transfer the full 1 billion from my account to another."

"One... billion? Are you serious right now?"

Mr. Lowell burst out laughing. "Kid, you’ve officially lost it! Who do you think you are?"

Even the guards couldn’t hold back. One of them clapped Lucas on the shoulder, chuckling,

"Bro, if you’re this delusional, you might wanna check into a hospital. What delivery guy has that kind of money? Maybe in Vietnamese dong."

"Running your mouth won’t prove anything. Just check the balance."

Lucas’s tone was calm and steady.

The teller, now thoroughly annoyed, grabbed his card, swiped it through, then tossed it back at him.

"Checked it. Now get out!"

Lucas remained unfazed and said with a small grin,

"Mind checking the balance on-screen?"

"What for? Unless you're actually—"

She glanced at the monitor—and froze. Her sentence died halfway as her jaw dropped wide open.

One, two, three… ten zeroes.

Holy crap. It really was a billion.
