Not long after, the so-called "useless waste" became the founder of a booming franchise empire. When her glamorous face graced television screens, those who had scorned her were left clutching their hearts in regret— *"How could we have been so blind to turn her down?!"* And as industry titans groveled at her feet, begging for forgiveness, the world's richest man pulled her into his arms with a possessive glare— *"Let’s see who dares lay a finger on her now!"*

So heavy!

She felt like she was being crushed by a mountain — it was hard to even breathe! And every single bone in her body ached like they'd been snapped in two! Around her, the noise was just unbearable—people were chattering nonstop!

Sophia Carter's head was pounding; she forced her eyes open and saw an older woman in faded clothes sitting on top of her, pinning her arms down while yelling and crying all at once.

"Everyone, come look! This shameless fat cow is trying to steal my son-in-law! Where’s justice nowadays?"

"She’s already married, and she had the nerve to hit on my daughter’s fiancé. How low can you go?"

Fat cow? Man-stealer?

Sophia froze for a second.

Wait—was that supposed to be her?

You’ve got to be kidding.

She was a top jewelry designer, for crying out loud! People fought to wear her designs. And just look at her—gorgeous face, killer body, even a movie star and a billionaire once tried to date her. Not that she gave them the time of day.

And now someone’s calling her a fat cow? Chasing men?

Ridiculous.

Sophia frowned and shoved the woman off her.

The middle-aged woman seemed startled, tumbling off to the side.

Sophia sat up, barely steadying herself before a wave of dizziness hit her.

In that whirl of confusion, a flood of memories hit her all at once.

Her head throbbed as everything came rushing in—she finally got what was going on.

She’d landed in the 1980s. The body she was in now? A married woman. Got suckered into an affair by a pretty boy. Pressured her husband into handing over all his wages and turned around to blow it on that guy.

And when the pretty boy later got married, she couldn’t take the blow and made a scene at his father’s birthday party.

Which, apparently, ticked off the new bride’s mom—who now came knocking.

And that led to this lovely circus.

Ruby Edwards stood there, arms crossed and full of attitude. "My daughter works at the top department store in town, and that job ain't for just anyone. You gotta have more than a middle school diploma. You need to look good and have a decent figure too."

She glanced at Sophia with a sneer. "You think my son-in-law would go for a lump like you? Dream on!"Sophia Carter let out a long sigh of frustration. Just a moment ago, she was lounging at home, having wrapped up a big jewelry showcase. Now, out of nowhere, she had ended up in some weird time warp!

Fine, time-travel, whatever—but why did it have to be the 1980s? And why in this awful body?

What kind of bad joke was this?

“Hold on a sec!”

As Ruby Edwards charged at her again, Sophia’s eyes went cold. Her voice was firm and loud, stopping Ruby in her tracks. She no longer looked like the timid mess from earlier.

One glance around told her she was standing in a courtyard-style compound. A few families lived in the surrounding apartment buildings, and at least half the residents were peeking their heads out, enjoying the drama like it was a free show.

Whatever. No use whining about it now.

She’d inherited this crap show from the body’s original owner, and cleaning it up was her job now.

“Ma’am, I think there’s been a misunderstanding! I was probably drunk that day and mistook someone else for someone I knew. You going at me nonstop like this isn’t just hurting me—your daughter and son-in-law are also being dragged into this mess.”

Her words made the onlookers murmur amongst themselves. The way she was laying it out made a lot of sense. Maybe it really had been a misunderstanding?

Without another word, Sophia turned to leave.

But as she went, Ruby panicked and grabbed her roughly.

“Don’t think you can just walk away! Real or fake, I don’t care! You embarrassed my daughter in front of her in-laws, and now she can’t hold her head up! Sophia Carter, this isn’t over. If you don’t apologize and cough up some cash, don’t even think about leaving!”

In the struggle, Sophia was shoved toward a wall and stumbled into a mirror.

One glance at her reflection, and she froze.

“This... is me?”

Ruby let out a scoff. “Who else could it be? You think someone else could look like this walking disaster? I’ve lived for forty years and never seen anyone as shameless as you!”

Sophia stared, unable to believe what she saw.

The stunning face she’d grown tired of in the mirror back home... was gone. The woman staring back at her now had acne all over her cheeks, a puffy face piled high with fat that squished all her features together.

Her fingers were so chubby they looked like stick-less sausages—thick, stubby, practically carrots.

Her once sleek waist had ballooned into a full-on barrel. The tight skirt she wore could barely hold in the layers of fat around her belly.

Looking down, she realized—she couldn't even see her toes anymore.

At first, she'd kept her cool, even when she realized she’d time-traveled. But this?

Now she was really panicking.

She wasn’t just anyone—she was a top jewelry designer from the modern world!

Somehow, she’d ended up stuck in the 1980s...

And worst of all?

In the body of a loud-mouthed, married, overweight woman who looked nothing like the person she used to be.
