Katherine Gilbert clutched the medical report as she stood staring at Charles Roulstone at a distance on Gilbert Hospital's roof.
She was blissful and excited.
She was finally pregnant!
Would he treat her better if she told him the good news?
Clearly, she was overthinking it.
Charles looked at her coldly, "Katherine, this is just an arranged marriage, and you've already gotten what you want. What more do you want?"
"Charles, you know what I want," She sounded pathetic. "I just have a piece of good news to share with you. I'm sure you'll definitely..."
"How could anything related to you be good news?"
Just as Katherine was speaking, Fiona Johns interrupted them. "Katherine, stop playing games! Charles was already disgusted with you for using Gilbert and Roulstone Ventures to pressure him to sleep with you!"
"And now you're threatening us with your life? This is getting a little too much!"
Fiona got around to Katherine's side as she spoke. On the way, she pretended to trip and sprain her leg.
Charles quickly ran over to help her, gently urging, "Fiona, be careful. Don't trip."
He turned around and reprimanded Katherine, "Are you blind? How could you do this to her? She's pregnant!"
"Charles, it wasn't me!..."
Charles didn't want to hear anything from her, "I'm warning you. Don't you dare do anything to Fiona! Or else I'll make your life miserable!"
Katherine was devastated hearing Charles' words.
She had been married to Charles for two years, but in these two years, Charles had never even batted an eye at her.
Their arranged marriage ruined his chance to be together with his beloved Fiona.
Before their marriage, Charles promised his parents he would never see Fiona again, but now she was right here in Riverdale!
She was even pregnant with Charles' child!
Katherine pursed her lips and mustered the courage to ask, "Charles, what do you mean?"
"Oh, I forgot to tell you."
Fiona then scrolled through her phone and pulled out a bunch of wedding photos. She strode toward Katherine, not at all like she was just hurt, "Here, these are the wedding photos we took last week."
Katherine looked at the photos, and blood drained from her face.
They were taken when she had the worst morning sickness last week. She called Charles multiple times to beg him to come home and take her to the hospital.
But before she could finish, he retorted, saying he was busy and asked her to sort things out with the butler.
Katherine now figured that his excuse for being busy was taking wedding photos with Fiona.
Katherine ignored Fiona's taunts, focusing her attention on Charles. She insistently asked, "Three months ago, when you went on that business trip to New Zealand, you went there to see her, right?"
Charles was about to respond as he looked at Katherine's pale face.
But before he could reply, Fiona smirked, "No. Charles did go for business. But after that, we went to the Maldives together."
Just as she was saying this, she rubbed her belly.
She didn't explicitly say that the baby was conceived while they were in the Maldives, but her actions said it all.
Katherine married Charles the year he took over Roulstone Ventures.
At that time, Charles was so busy with work that he couldn't even find time to take wedding photos with her.
Katherine tried to convince herself that he really had no time.
But now it seemed that he did have time. He just didn't want to be with her.
He gave all his time to Fiona.
Katherine crumpled the report and looked at Charles, "Haven't you always wanted to divorce me? Since you've already taken the photos and Fiona is pregnant, have my blessings."
Charles frowned. Was she playing hard to get?
"You said it, Katherine," He responded.
Katherine sneered at his responses, "What's more to say now? I'll sign the divorce papers and get my lawyer to pass it to you."
Fiona was overjoyed when she heard this.
She wanted Charles to be more firm in his decision, so she gently held her belly and said, "Charles, my belly...it hurts..."
Charles immediately shifted his focus to Fiona.
He strode to Fiona's side and swooped her off her feet, "Fiona, don't be afraid. I'll take you to see a doctor now."
Looking at how anxious Charles was, Katherine's heart shattered, and she couldn't breathe.
Divorce was nothing compared to Fiona's one sentence.
"Well, since you love her so much, we needn't continue pestering each other," Katherine thought.
Katherine called her lawyer, "I want a divorce. Yes, I know what I'm doing. Prepare the papers now. I'm on my way there."

After signing the divorce papers, Katherine told the lawyer, "Tell my parents about this after Charles signed the papers."
"Miss Gilbert, where are you going?" The lawyer could tell that something was wrong.
"I'm going abroad for a while," Katherine said, "Don't worry, I just need some air. I won't do anything else."
After leaving the firm, she drove straight to the airport.
But as soon as she got out of town, she got stopped by several black cars.
The men smashed open her car window, opened the car door, and dragged her into their car!
They covered her eyes and tied her hands and feet. Katherine could only shout, "Who sent you?! If you want money, I can give you however much you want!"
