In the middle of everyone’s profound sleep, Adam didn’t feel good. He was shivering as his body temperature rises instantly.
Adam got up out of bed and went to the comfort room. He slowly takes off all his clothes and switched the shower on. He then hopped into the bathtub.
After a few minutes of being soaked in the bathtub, Adam’s body temperature also descended. He breathed out heavily as he couldn’t think of the reason why he got the very high temperature where the room was freezing.
Adam hopped out of the bathtub and looked at his face in the mirror. Then, he suddenly remembered his eyeglass. He kept thinking about how he had a clearer vision.
It was at this moment a tiny firefly passed in front of his face. Adam grinned but when he looked back at the mirror, he almost falls to the floor after seeing a dog with blue eyes appeared behind him.
Adam sits to the corner and closed his eyes and covered his face with his bare hands.
“Please don’t hurt me.” Adam stammered.
In a few seconds, he slowly opened his left eye. Adam felt at ease when the dog was already out of sight.
Adam quickly stood up and picked up his clothes and went out of the bathroom. He put some clothes on as he kept wagging his gaze. When he was about to raise his jeans, he touched something sharp.
“Oh, it’s the necklace and it’s stinky,” Adam mumbled.
He cleaned and washed the necklace with alcohol. After it looks new, he wrapped his shoulder and locked the necklace to his neck.
“Adam? Chris? Wake up. We need be downstairs in a few minutes.” Arianna knocked on the door.
Adam’s face wrinkled and covered his ears after hearing the loud knocks from the door.
“Okay, we're coming.”
Adam strode towards Christian and hardly clapped his shoulder.
“Hey, wake up we need to go.”
Christian slowly opened his eyes and stared at Adam. “What time is it?”
Adam studied his watch. “The time is past six in the morning and our flight is at eight-thirty.”
Christian furrowed as he got out of bed and went to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Adam sadly stared at his broken guitar. He’s been using his guitar for almost four years and it helped him survive the adversity in this chaotic and judgmental world.
“Are you still gonna bring that?” Christian furrowed.
“Umm… yeah. This guitar means a lot to me. She’s everything to me.” Adam then wrapped his guitar and set it along with his luggage.
After stuffing up, Adam and Christian lifted their luggage and slowly descended downstairs. When they got out, everyone is waiting for them outside the cab.
“Adam, are we good?” Delia creased.
“Yeah. I think I’ll live.”
“Good.” Delia then hopped into the car.
They all hopped into the cabs and drove away. Everyone could still feel their exhausted bodies so they decided not to speak a word. Instead, they all decided to close their eyes.
When they reached the airport, their expressions lit up. They all eagerly pulled out their luggage bags and went to check-in.
Adam was still in wonder why and how he could hear chattering loud and clear as they were looking for available seats. When they found one, Adam and Christian leaned their butts to the bench.
“Hey?” Christian breathed out after seeing Adam was stunned.
“Wait, did you just say something?” Adam wrinkled.
“Are you okay? Your eyes seem you haven’t slept in days, dude. And I noticed you’re not wearing your eyeglass on.”
“Yeah. That’s one thing I would like to tell you.”
Christian’s face furrowed and seriously glared at Adam.
“I’m listening. Go on.”
“Dude, after what happened last night, when I got out of the building, my eyes just happened like this. I don’t know how and why.” Adam eagerly voiced out.
“Maybe your head just hit something hard and boom.” Chris grinned.
“Dude, I’m serious. Not just it. I could hear and smell things that I should hear and smell. And last night, I just slowly pulled the doorknob in our room and it easily detached.”
Adam and Christian exchanged furrowed faces.
“And my eyes, when I looked at the mirror, it shifted into a different color.”
“You know what? I heard that kind of dilemma.”
Adam’s whole face suddenly lit up as he knows Christian could help him.
Christian leaned towards Adam. “That is what they called lycanthropy.”
Adam furrowed and immediately moved back out of Christian’s face. “Is that bad?”
“It’s worst but it only happens once a month.” Christian grinned.
“Once a month?”
“Ah-huh! Every time there’s a full moon.” Christian made a mimic and growling sound.
Adam hardly clapped Christian’s chest.
“Okay, I’m just kidding, all right?” Christian humorously voiced out.
It was at this moment their flight details have been announced to prepare for boarding. Everyone eagerly lifted their luggage bags and went to the boarding entrance.
Moreover, after a few hours of flying through the air, the plane safely landed in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
All their faces lit up as they could get back to their daily lives.
Christian and Adam hopped in one cab as they have the same destination. Adam has to be dropped off at the resto-bar he will be performing with his band tonight.
“I’ll try to visit you lately in your gig, bro.” Christian voice out after Adam hopped out of the car.
Adam again eased into the seat of the crowded resto-bar. His stomach is now rumbling, a reminder that he had skipped lunch, and the single bun he’d grabbed for breakfast in the airport was long gone.
“James, welcome back. Want to join us?” Jog, their drummer in the band, patted Adam on the shoulder in greeting. “Marvin and Marlou are trying to get the new hot female bartender’s digits to them.”
“Nah. I’m good.” Adam tried to sound polite.
Adam wasn’t good with a lot of people. After performing, he used to sit alone and quiet at one of the tables in the bar.
Adam seated at an empty table while Jog tailed off. “So new girl, huh?” Adam set his guitar and luggage under the table and reached out at the food menu.
“Ah-huh. And there she is.” Jog breathed out and pointed his snout.
Adam smelled her before he lifted his head. Her scent was unlike any other. It called to his blood.
Adam slowly looked up. Standing behind the bar was a dark-haired beauty with stunning eyes. She had her hair pulled up into a messy ponytail and she wore a snug white T-shirt that showed off her flat stomach.
She was filling drink orders and smiling at customers. Adam’s mouth went dry and all the blood in his body went straight down to his cock.
“What can I get for you tonight?” A pretty blonde waitress appeared at his table.
“What?” Adam’s attention was still on the beautiful bartender. He dragged his gaze away and looked up at the waitress behind his sunglasses. Her name tag said, Judie.
Judie grinned. “I see you spotted our new bartender.” She looked over at the bar. “She’s here to transfer school. She said PSL University and her name is Emma.”
“Emma.” Adam breathed out her name.
“Yeah.” Judie shrugged. “She’s been getting all the attention and got a lot of tips. I would hate her for being so beautiful but she’s so stinking nice.”
She shook her head. “Filling in when we needed help and soothing the customers when their orders aren’t filled fast enough. She’s been a lot of help today. Too bad she’s got an asshole for a boyfriend.”
“Boyfriend?” Adam growled. “Someone else is touching her? Kissing her?” Adam clenched his gut so hard and it hurt.
“James Patrick Adams? Your band’s turn” Manager Tang called.
Adam grinned at Judie. “Duty calls.”
While Adam was performing, he couldn’t help himself but glare at Emma. She’s close to perfection in his eyes.
After the performance, Adam went back to his table. Judie also reappeared in front of him and set the steak on his table.
“I didn’t order yet.” Adam furrowed.
“On the house, because you did well on the stage.” Judie grinned. “Honestly, it’s from Manager Tang. She has an eye on you. I guessed she will hire you as our regular performer.”
Adam’s whole face lit-up. “So it means I could see Emma’s angelic face every now and then?”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Hottie but you see that guy just went in?” Judie pointed the food menu she was holding to the tall, dark, and handsome guy. “Meet Justine. Emma’s wealthy tall, dark and handsome boyfriend.
Adam started to hate the guy. He hardly grinned his teeth and clenched his fist. “Justine, huh.”
“Yeah, sadly, Emma didn’t see that bastard’s true color behind that sweetness.” Judie was looking at them kissing. “Gross. Anyway, do you have something to add aside from the steak?”
Emma grinned at Justine and then she headed to the kitchen.
After Emma was gone to the kitchen, Adam couldn’t stop staring at Justine. He could smell something was off to Justine. In a few minutes, he saw a blonde lady approached Justine.
To his surprise, Justine grabbed the blonde and touched her chest down to her boobs and the two went to the male’s bathroom.
Adam followed his gaze in contempt.
“Hey, Judie, have you seen Justine? I have packed his orders.”
“No, I didn’t. Maybe he just went out as the bar is getting crowded.”
In a few minutes, someone approached and whispered at Emma. Emma’s expression suddenly changed. Adam could feel it’s not good.
Emma set the packed food to the desk and swiftly headed to the male’s comfort room.
Adam on the other side worriedly followed Emma in the dark.
“Justine, are you there, honey?” Emma hardly knocked on the door after she couldn’t open it.
In a few seconds, the blonde girl went out of the comfort room wiping her face, and kept her head down passing Emma.
Adam strode closer when Emma went inside the comfort room.
