“And over here is your table! You’ll find your personal computer already programmed under your name, some pens and paper, paper clips, and all other office supplies you might possibly need!” Violet concluded as she stopped in front of a desk which happens to be Sophia O’ Donnell’s new work desk.

“Do you have questions?” Violet hopefully asked.

“I think I got it.” Sophia replied, feeling a mixture of shyness and overwhelmingness as she sat on her office chair after being toured around her new office by Violent Flemming, her workmate and fellow research analyst.

Sophia took her time unpacking and arranging some things she bought for her office desk to make it less generic.

I’m doing it. I’m really doing it! She excitedly thought to herself as she was placing her framed family picture right next to her office calendar.

Sophia O’ Donnell couldn’t help but reminisce all the things that happened to her before she came to Simmons Corporation.

She was a good college student who fell in love with a guy who did nothing but take her for granted; cheating his way around her for 4 long years. When he finally had enough of her, they had just graduated and he so did all his promises of giving her a happy future. She was thrown easily like trash, with little to no more value. All she had was a diploma, and an unknown future ahead of her.

Sophia was an innocent girl. When George, her then boyfriend of 4-years promised her the world, she believed it right away. Standing only five feet tall, fair-skinned, with long dark brown hair; those piercing blue eyes and her slender curves, she is a petite stunner. She could’ve had any guy she wanted and guys did anything she asked them.

She was witty, bubbly, and very hard to dislike as she was kind, helpful, and very thoughtful toward others. She wore the simplest clothes— shirts, shorts, and sneakers most of the time — and she put on little to no make-up. She kept her hair in a messy bun most of the time. Messy, but it suited her, nonetheless.

She also participated in school activities as she was a good communicator and president of the University Radio Jock Organization. She was smart and kept her grades up all the while spending ample time with her friends, Carla and Josey.

I had a promising future, she thought.

What on earth happened?

“Hey, Sophie. You there?”

Sophia snapped out of her reminiscing trance and looked up to see Violent hovering at her cheerfully.

“Earth to Sophie... you there?”

“Yes, Ma’am, I am here.” She answered.

“Woah. It’s just Violet. Or Vi, or Let. I’m not a ma’am. Say it with me, ‘Viiiii’...”

Sophia sighed and smiled. “Alright, Vi. What’s up? Do you need anything?”

Violet cheerfully pointed at the office clock.

“It’s lunch time! Let’s go to the office cafeteria! They have food there that will blow your mind. Plus it’s cheap. Mr. Simmons takes care of his employees.. if you know what I mean.” Violet said as she nudged Sophia knowingly.

Sophia sighed as she let Violet drag her to the office cafeteria.

I honestly do not want to know, she thought.
