Adele entered the alpha's office and saw both of her mates Alpha Chris and Beta Liam, sitting beside each other, holding hands. Both looked at her with a blank expression.

"So, the rumors are true?" Adele asked.

"What rumors?" Chris asked back.

"I heard rumors around the pack that you two are getting married. Is it true?"

Chris smiled and looked lovingly at Liam, then he looked back at Adele and said, " Yes, we have waited for it for a long time, and finally, we are planning to get married soon."

Adele's doubts were now confirmed, and she didn't know whether she was happy or sad. She asked her wolf Alexa in her mind, " What do you think about this?"

Alexa replies,?" I don't have any problem with them getting married as both of them are my fated soul mates, but what about us?"

Adele nods and asks Chris, "Then what about us?"

"What us?" Chris asked unconcernedly.

"You two are my fated mates. I am even pregnant with your pups now. Don't you think we should also get married?"

Chris scoffed. "Why should we marry you when we don't even love you"??

Liam was just sitting there as if uninterested in the whole thing.

Those words were like a blow to Adele and Alexa's hearts. They knew their mate's behavior seemed weird from the past few days. They were hurt that both of her mates didn't want her.

"We have just recently met. We should spend time together and get to know each other. As we are mates, I am sure we will come to love each other," whispered Adele.

"We will never love you. We didn't even want a mate in the first place," says Chris angrily.

"Then why did you accept me and get me here to your pack? You could have rejected me the moment we met".

"We needed you to give us heirs. You know we can have pups only from fated mates. We got you here to give birth to our pups and raise them. That is the only thing you are meant to do. Do not expect anything more".

Adele was so shocked by these words that she didn't know how to react. She couldn't believe she was being tricked and betrayed by both of her mates. Were all the things she had heard about soulmates loving each other unconditionally false? The tears she was so desperately trying to control started flowing out of her eyes. Alexa's situation was even worse; she felt a severe pain of rejection in her heart, and in her case, it had a double impact as it was rejection from two mates.

" Don't you feel any connection between us? We are mates; for God's sake, we even made love. " Adele asked desperately. She felt so pathetic to be begging in front of her mates.

" I don't feel any connection with you and never will. And what we did was not making love; that was we fucking you so that you could get pregnant with our pups." Chris said casually as if it didn't matter to him at all.?

The indifference shown by both Chris and Liam towards Adele was enough proof for her that they didn't care for her, but she still wanted to hold on to some sort of hope that this mate bond would work.

Trying to make another attempt, Adele asked Liam, " Why are you not saying anything, Liam? Even we are mates; don't you have anything to say?

Liam just looked at Adele and said, " I am not saying anything because I don't feel you are important enough for me to waste my time on."

Adele was shattered after hearing those words. Forget being a mate; they didn't even consider her as a person. The hurt and pain were slowly turning to anger. She had never been so humiliated in her entire life. She left her loving family and pack and came to this pack to be with her mates, but what did she get in return? Pain, hurt, and betrayal. Her mates didn't want her; the pack members never spared her a glance; it was as if she didn't exist for them. She had enough now. If they don't want her, then she doesn't need them either. She fiercely wipes her tears and says, " Ok, Fine. If you don't want this mate bond, then there is no point in me being here. I don't want to stay in this pathetic pack. I am leaving."

Chris stands up and says, " You can't leave now; you are carrying our pups."

Adele replies angrily, " My pups don't need ungrateful fathers like you. I can take care of them without you".

On hearing those words Chris and Liam both let out a fierce growl, and Chris spats, " How dare you to disrespect us like that?"

"You do not deserve any respect from me. I don't know why the moon goddess cursed me by pairing me with mates like you, but I certainly do not want to continue with this bond. As you didn't reject me for your own selfish reasons, I will do it. I Adele Green reject..."?

As soon as Adele said those words, Alexa, who was silent this whole time, suddenly interrupted,?" Stop it, Adele, we cannot reject our mates."?

Adele replied with frustration, " Can't you see Alexa? They don't want us".?

Alexa was crying in pain and said,?" I know it, I know our mates don't want us, but it is not so simple for us wolves. We need our mates to survive. Mate bonds are the most sacred bonds which the moon goddess herself has fated, and we can't just let it go. We have to give them another chance. I know as time passes, they will surely accept us."

Adele says, " I am not sure about this, Alexa; it seems like only we care about this bond, not our mates nor their wolves. Why are their wolves not stopping them? Being with them will only cause us more heartache. Do you think we can tolerate it anymore?"

" We are not so weak to be broken so easily. We are of Alpha blood, and we cannot accept defeat so easily. And until you are with me, I can face anything. Please, I request you to give this mate bond a chance. They are our mates, and I don't want to give up on them so easily. Don't you want our pups to have a complete family?"

As Adele thought about her pups, she knew she couldn't be so selfish as to take them away from their fathers without even giving them a chance. She was utterly defeated and slumped down on the floor and started crying. She was in so much pain and felt so helpless that she couldn't do anything to get rid of this pain. She missed her family and her old pack. She felt so lonely and broken.

Chris, who had been observing Adele very keenly, saw Adele's pupils continuously changing from green to gold and knew she was talking to her wolf. He was about to stop Adele from rejecting them but was happy to know her wolf didn't allow her to do so. He just smirked and said, " Your wolf understands the situation better than you do, Adele. It would be good for you if you just listen to her".

Alexa was so angry on hearing those words from Chris. Their pain did not matter to him at all; instead, he was mocking them. She took control and changed to her snow-white wolf. She wanted to attack him, but she knew she cant attack her mate. She just gave a heartbroken howl of pain and jumped out of the window and ran towards the forest.

Silverlake Pack

It was a bright sunny day and there was a lot of hustle and bustle around the Silverlake pack. It was the day of their Alpha Axel's wedding ceremony which was to be held in the evening. Everyone was moving around doing the arrangements. Adele was super excited as her brother and her best friend Daisy were getting married. They were fated mates and loved each other a lot. Adele was in her friend Daisy's room helping her try on her wedding gown. Daisy was a nervous wreck.

" Am I looking good? Do I look too fat in this gown? Oh god, I should have taken that lacey gown right? The wedding is in the evening, can we go and exchange it now?" Daisy said nervously.

" Stop it Daisy, what are you so nervous about? This gown is beautiful on you. Everything's perfect. You are perfect. You have known Axel as your mate for 4 years. This wedding is just a formality. So stop being nervous and enjoy your special day" says Adele chastising her best friend.

"But I think I look fat," whines Daisy.

" You are not fat, it's because you are pregnant you Dumbo. I think it's your pregnancy hormones kicking up. So now you just relax and take rest for sometime before the wedding " saying that Adele helps her to get her out of her wedding gown. After Daisy changed into her normal clothes Adele asks her to rest and leaves.

Adele was walking to her room when she sees her father Aaron and their current Beta James having a heated discussion. The expression on their face showed something was not right. As soon as Aaron sees Adele he asks her to come and they go inside his office.

" What's wrong Dad? You look worried" asks Adele looking at her Dad and Beta James.

" James says the Border patrol has spotted a few rogues around the pack border. I think they know we are busy with the wedding celebrations today. So they must have thought to start some trouble here" says Aaron worriedly.

Adele looks at him and asks " Why are the rogues here? The guests from other packs will be arriving soon for the wedding. Why will the rogues risk their lives when there are so many Alphas at one place. I think they are not here for a fight but for spying on us. How many rogues are here?"

" They have spotted 4 till now. We don't know if there are more. We have to inform the Alpha about this" answers James.

" No, wait, James, it's his special day today. We can't have him worried about this and Daisy is already so nervous. If there are only 4 rogues we can handle it ourselves. We don't have to trouble Axel about it " saying this Adele mind links her Gamma and few warriors from the patrolling team to come to her Dad's office.

Adele was the head warrior of Silverlake pack. She became the head warrior 2 years back when her brother Axel became the Alpha. The Silverlake pack was the second largest pack in the world with around 800 wolves. Both Axel and Adele were well trained since they were quite young. They were fully qualified for combat as a human as well as in their wolf form. Adele was now 20 and was doing extremely well as the head warrior. She was very calm and composed and never panicked in such situations which were one of her best traits. She always analysed the situation and came up with the best solution, never acting aggressively jumping to conclusions. Many of the pack members looked up to her for this and even her father and brother always involved her in all the pack decisions as they knew she would always give the best suggestions. Once the Gamma Drew and the warriors came to the office they started planning.

Adele asked, " How many guards are posted at the border?"

The head guard replied " Four at each wing

North, South, East and West

. And 4 extra at the Entrance gates as the guests will be arriving in a few hours."

The entrance gates were at the North wing and the rogues were spotted on the east wing. So Adele analyses the situation and says "Me and Gamma Drew will head to the east wing and look for the rogues. Dad, you and Beta James go to the entrance gates to welcome the guests. Also, we will post 2 extra guards at each wing for extra safety."

Aaron asks " Will you two be able to handle 4 rogues?" Adele smiles at Drew and speaks to her Dad " You know we can handle it Dad. Do you have any doubt's?" Aaron shakes his head and says " I have no doubt's about my Gamma and my Head Warrior but a Dad can get worried about his daughter".

Adele replies " Don't worry Dad, your daughter will be safe and even keep the pack safe."

They then plan out their positions and take their weapons and get ready to go. Adele meets her mom and tells her to take care of Axel and Daisy and not to tell them anything now.

Once they reach the pack grounds, Adele and Drew head towards the east wing with 2 extra warriors Jane and Trevor. Aaron and James head towards the North wing. Adele reaches the east wing and talks with the guards there who point in the direction they had last seen the rogues. Adele instructs them to stay at the position and heads out of the pack borders with Drew, Jane and Trevor. She mind-links to all the guards on the border patrol, her dad, and the Beta saying " We are headed to the spot where rogues were last seen, everyone be on high alert and inform if they spot any rogue". She then tells Drew and the 2 warriors who were with her " Guys, avoid killing them until necessary, we need to catch them alive".

They were slowly walking around keeping all their senses on high alert when Adele heard a sound from her right and saw 2 rogues jump out of the bushes in their wolf form. Adele tackled one by kicking its snout. The wolf howled and fell to the ground. Adele then pierced her dagger on the wolf's leg. She then took out an injection from her pocket and injected it on the rogue wolf's neck. The wolf howled and fell unconscious. She then saw Drew fighting the other rogue in his wolf form and she could see Drew can easily handle him. Suddenly 2 more rogues attacked the warriors and Adele rushed to help. She kicked one rogue wolf on its hind leg who was about to bite Trevor. She then got on the wolf's back and took another injection and injected it into the wolf's neck rendering it unconscious.

Meanwhile, the fourth rogue was about to bite on Jane's neck, when Drew's wolf jumped on it and bit off its neck killing him instantly. Jane was injured. 3 rogues were lying there unconscious and one was dead. They searched around to check whether there were any more rogues but they didn't find any. Adele mind-linked to everyone saying "We have got the 4 rogues, one dead and 3 unconscious. We will lock up the rogues in the dungeon now and interrogate them tomorrow".

As they were moving towards the Packhouse suddenly a guard from the west wing mind-links saying he spotted a rogue on the west wing.

Adele tells Drew "You take Jane to the pack hospital".

She then looks at Trevor and says " Take these rogues and lock them up in the dungeon".

She mind-links to everyone that she is heading towards the west wing.

While Adele was heading towards the west wing she heard her wolf Alexa say?"Stop moving like a snail, Let me take control from here".

Adele scoffed and replied " Look who's talking? Where were you till now while I was fighting with the rogues?"

" I was feeling a bit lazy today, so I decided to let you do the work but now I am in a mood for some action "?saying this Alexa took control and transformed into a snow-white wolf and rushed towards the west wing.

"What if the rogues had hurt me?" says Adele.

"Don't worry Ade, until I am with you nobody can hurt you, and as you know even if I am silent I am always on alert"?saying this she spots a rogue fighting with a pack warrior and leaps on it and smashes it to a nearby tree. The rogue gets hit on its head and falls unconscious. Another rogue tries to attack Alexa from behind but she dodges it and bites in on its leg. The rogue was howling in pain when a warrior comes and injects it with an injection making it unconscious.

Alexa looks around for any more rogues and mind-links the warriors to check around if there are any more rogues. They look around and see there were no more rogues. She then asks the warrior to lock the two rogues in the dungeon. Alexa then mind-links all the border patrol guards to thoroughly check across the entire perimeter of the pack. They all check properly and see there were no more rogues.

Aaron then mind links to Alexa " Good work my lovely daughter, your Dad is proud of you".

"Thanks, Dad,"?Alexa replies happily.

" The guests are about to arrive. You get back to the Packhouse soon or else Axel and Daisy will be suspicious. We will welcome the guests here" says Aaron.

" OK, Dad,"?Alexa replies and runs towards the Packhouse. Once she reaches the Packhouse, she goes towards her room window which she always keeps open and leaps into her room. She then transforms into her human form and Adele goes into her bathroom for a bath. After a bath, she wears a sea green color gown which matches her eye color. Adele stood tall at 5'10" with a voluptuous figure. She had silky blonde hair which she fits neatly into a stunning chignon. Adele didn't know how to apply makeup so she decides to take help from the ladies who were helping Daisy to get ready for her wedding. She heads towards Daisy's room and meets her brother Axel who was trying to sneak into Daisy's room.

Adele pulls him back holding his Black suit jacket and says " Control yourself, Bro. You can't see the bride in her wedding gown until the wedding ceremony. Can't you wait for an hour?"

Axel pouts and says " I was just having a peek".

Adele stared at her elder brother who was wearing a black suit. His blonde hair was neatly combed. He stood tall at 6' and had a muscular body but not the bulky type. He became the Alpha of Silverlake pack at the age of 20, 2 years back and was liked by all the pack members. He loved his pack members and his family and would do anything for them.

Adele whistled at him and said, " Wow, You look stunning Bro."

Axel smiled and replied " You look stunning yourself sis, even without the makeup. Anyways, where were you from so long, I was looking for you?"

Adele thought about the rogues and said " I was at the pack border, Alexa wanted to have a run. Leave that, you should be going out and welcoming the guests, the Alphas must have arrived."

Axel suddenly remembered and said " Oh God, I totally forgot about them. I will be heading out now. Please take care of Daisy and my pup for me."

"Leave that to me, Bro," said Adele giving him a salute. Axel left towards the pack garden where the wedding venue was set up.

Adele went to Daisy's room and saw a pack member doing her hairstyle. She was already in her wedding gown.

Daisy looked at Adele and scowled "Where the hell were you? I mind-linked you but you did not respond."

Adele looked at her apologetically and said " Sorry, I went for a run and lost track of time. By the way, you look beautiful." She sat beside Daisy and asked a pack member to do her makeup.

Daisy scoffed and said " Don't change the topic through your sweet talks. I know you very well. Now tell me exactly where were you?"

Daisy was Adele's best friend since their childhood and she knew her too well. By looking at Adele she could tell if something was wrong. They were of the same age and shared everything with each other. When Daisy knew Axel was her mate on her 16th birthday, Adele was the first person to know. Adele was ecstatic to know that her best friend is going to be her sister-in-law and Luna. Daisy was a sweet girl. She was fit to be a perfect Luna who cared for everyone around her. Adele couldn't tell Daisy about the rogues as she was already nervous about the wedding and was also pregnant. She got worried too easily.

Adele lied to her saying " I just went for a run and Alexa wanted to swim in the river so we got late. Now you should get ready as the guests have arrived and the ceremony will be starting soon. And I must say your mate is looking super hot today."

Daisy blushes on hearing about her mate and hits Adele on her arm and says shyly " Stop teasing me, Ade."

Daisy and Adele were done with their makeup and were ready to go. Adele and Daisy's mom entered their room and asked whether Daisy was ready to go. They all then went out towards the pack garden.
