Every woman wishes to marry the man she loves.

I am no exception.

Today, I married the man I loved for twelve years, but under the name of my sister, Alora...

Although my sister and I share the same face, due to a hospital's negligence, I was sent to an orphanage when I was young.

It wasn't until three years ago that I returned to the Everett family.

Despite my seemingly wild nature and my incompatible character with the wealthy Everett family, I was always careful because I grew up without parents. I hoped to fit into this family and desired my parents' love.

So, the day before yesterday, when my parents and my sister begged me to marry Liam on her behalf, I hardly thought before agreeing.

One reason was that I loved Liam, and the other reason was because for the first time, I felt needed by my family. I didn't want to let them down.

Now it's midnight. Liam left in a hurry after the wedding ceremony and didn't even leave me a word.

Looking at the diamond ring on my hand, I can't describe the bitterness in my heart.

The sound of a car engine turning off comes from downstairs. It is Liam returning. I walk to the mirror, quickly fix my hair, and nervously leave the bedroom.

Going downstairs.

I take slippers from the shoe cabinet and wait at the door.

Seeing Liam enter, I raise a happy smile as a wife should have, place the slippers next to the man, and call out, “Husband, you're home…”

Before I finish my sentence, I smell a strong scent of alcohol in the air, mixed with a heavy perfume...

I couldn't help but feel my nose tingle.

Where had he been all night?

The answer was, needless to say, apparent.

Yet, I was aware of my duty. I was married into the family on behalf of my sister. My relationship with Liam had repercussions on the partnership between the Everett and Andreas families.

Despite the overwhelming sense of loss, I managed to smile when this thought crossed my mind.

Ignoring his indifference, I still followed him upstairs and called out, "Husband."

I glance up, just to find that he had already taken off his shirt. His well-defined muscles, under the suggestive glow of the bedroom lights, looked especially sexy.

My face immediately turned crimson and I quickly turned around. I was about to apologize when I suddenly felt a strong arm wrap around me from behind.

Before I could react, he had already picked me up, and by the time I could respond, I was already on the bed.

Although the bed was soft, I winced in pain due to the height from which I fell.

I saw Liam standing by the bed, looking down on me. His distinct features were outlined under the moonlight. Even though I couldn't see his expression, I could still feel a deep chill.

The next second, he suddenly asked, "What is your name?"

"Me?" This question made me a bit flustered, but I still said, "Alora..."

That's not my real name. My name is Kelilah.

But I couldn’t admit my real name.

As soon as I answered, the man pressed his body down onto me directly. One of his hands was gripping my hair tightly, forcing me to look at him. He paused with every word he asked, "Alora.... is that right?"

That's when I finally got a clear look at his face. Right now, there was not the slightest bit of warmth in his deep-set eyes, instead, they revealed—

A bone-piercing hate!

When he was mentioning my sister’s name, there was an indescribable restlessness in his black eyes.

Despite it being midsummer, a thin layer of cold sweat started appearing on my forehead, my heart filled with panic.

He was pulling at my hair and I could not turn my face. I could only look at him this way, nodding as vigorously as I could.

My heart was already hanging in the air.

It seems that when Liam saw me admitting, the gaze in his eyes became even colder. He spoke,“Since you’ve come here today, be prepared. I, am never a kind person!”

Right after he had finished his sentence, I heard the sound of my red dress being torn...
