In the highest office of the tallest building in Lavender City, behind a fine mahogany desk, sat a woman working furiously at something on a computer.

Her moderate dressing did nothing to hide her beauty as she looked like she was in her late twenties although she was in her thirties.

Probably 5"4 ft tall with long black hair, a heart defined face with a pair of blue eyes as well as a curvy body on the moderate side, Cassandra Turner was very stunning.

"Ah finally done" Cassie sighed. Grabbing her cup of coffee and getting up from her table to stretch her legs she wandered over to the large glass window with a breathtaking view of the city and sighed once more.

Standing there images of that night came through her,

"No mom don't leave me please, please don't leave me all by myself", her desperate cries and pleas that night came flooding into her mind until she was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Come in".

"Miss Turner, you have a meeting in 20 minutes", her secretary Leah said as soon as she was through the door.

"And these are the reports you wanted", she continued as she placed a set of files on her desk.

"Ok thank you, please reschedule my meeting with my dad for tomorrow I don't think I'll be able to make it today"

"Sure thing Miss Turner. Would that be all”?

"Yes it would you may go"

"Her father",she sighed. Her thoughts soon drifted to him as she turned back to the window.

Ethan Turner the man who had abandoned her and her mother. At some point in their life he had just packed up and left leaving her and her mother heartbroken and struggling to survive.

Recently, he had come back to her on his knees begging her to forgive him. She initially had no interest in what he had to say but her friend Sarah was really good with words and had convinced her into meeting with him and she had scheduled that meeting for today. Although obviously she had to reschedule it for tomorrow because she had somewhere to be later.

"Was that the real reason?", she asked herself or was this just her last way of fighting this meeting?

It's not that she hated her father exactly. Overtime any feelings of anger or hatred she felt for him disappeared or rather she had focused them into her work and becoming successful. But she won't deny that some part of her actually blamed him for the tragedy that occurred back then.

She felt that if he was in their lives maybe her mom wouldn't have died. Still thinking back to that night she really couldn't remember much just her desperate pleas for help, how it rained heavily that day and a particular strange clicking sound and scent that hung in the air that night.

She had tried everything to get herself to remember anything that point towards her mother's murderer from meditation to hypnosis but nothing worked.

But she wasn't going to give up that easily she wouldn't have gotten to where she was today if she had always given up so easily. One day she would find her mother's murderer and make him pay.

Pulling herself out from all those thoughts she decided it was time she started heading down to the board meeting. She knew for sure that those gender biased old men would already be getting really impatient. She smirked when she thought about the board of directors and how gender biased they were towards her. She wasn't a pushover and she always made sure to remind them exactly whose company it was.

Pushing open the doors to the conference room, Cassie slowly yet elegantly walked in. As soon as she walked in they all stood up as a sign of respect for her. She acknowledged everyone with a nod and went ahead to sit down. Everyone else also took their seats. The board meeting commenced immediately with the secretary reading the minutes of the last meeting as no one dared to comment on her obvious lateness.

"As we all know Tuner Enterprises lost the contract with the investment company from overseas, making us loose a total of 200 million USD", the secretary announced.

Cassie looked on languidly even after hearing that waiting calmly for what was sure to come next.

"With all due respect Miss Turner, I think you have a role to play in this. It is not the first time your arrogant personality has been received poorly by investors", Director Grant stated

"And with all due respect Director Grant, you should have told me you wanted a pleasure girl to smile pleasantly at my clients to boost their ego rather than a CEO", Cassie calmly replied him. All the board members were shocked by such a reply. Standing up she continued, "I'm sorry to disappoint you but I am a CEO and I do not need to do that just to get people to sign contracts and deals with me because I and my company are completely up to the task"

At this point everyone in the conference room was completely terrified of the chilly look in her eyes even Director Grant couldn't help but shiver a bit.

"Well that would be all for today gentlemen", Cassie said as she strode to the door leaving everyone in awe.

Yes she was Cassandra Turner and she was a boss bitch.
