"Lynne Willis, on the day of your father's marriage, you pushed your pregnant stepmother down the stairs and was sent to prison by your father himself!

"You were restless when you came in, and on the first day, you broke the female warden's nose to assert that no one should come near you!"

"Then, you spoke to the warden, and it took you only two hours to upgrade the prison's security system. It took you another half a day to develop a national patent and gain the warden's favor..."

Lynne sat in the prison's dormitory, her head hung in a casual manner as she moved her long, slender fingers over the cold metal bars.

Her eyes shone proud. Despite her delicate face and pale skin, she looked stoic.

Even when she did not say a word, she emitted an arrogant air about her.

After listening to the prison guard's nagging for a long time, she finally raised her eyes impatiently and glared at him sternly. "I did these things myself, so I know. You don't have to repeat them."

The prison guard stood at the door and looked at the girl with a frown. "Your fiance has come to bail you out. Come with me."

Her fiancé?

Lynne lowered her gaze, a glimmer flashing across her eyes.

She had asked Robbie Yardley to help her find a husband. She was efficient indeed.

She smirked and jumped down from the bed, using her right hand as a support.

She did a somersault and landed on the ground perfectly.

"Let's go." She smoothed her black hair lazily. Her gray prison clothes were not buttoned properly, revealing her black vest inside.

She looked charming. It also happened to be windy, and the breeze filled the cold room.

The prison guard's eyebrows twitched as he slowly followed behind her. She was the most haughty prisoner he had ever seen.

"Lynne." Not far away, the warden waved at the girl with a smile. "Over here."

This warden was a kind man, and he admired Lynne's talent and personality very much. When she looked up, her expression did not change. With her hands in her pockets, she strode over casually.

On the sofa in the room sat a man in black.

He was dressed in a black, expensive suit. He had a noble temperament and a stern expression.

He sat with his back to her. She could not see his face clearly, and could only feel his arrogance.

Lynne raised her brows with interest and looked at the warden. "Who's this?"

The warden choked and looked at her in horror for a long time. "This is your fiance, Lucien Clifford!"

Was there anyone who did not even know their own fiance?

How eye-opening.

"Oh," Lynne responded faintly as she opened the door and walked toward the man.

She could finally see his face clearly. His face was angular and chiseled. He looked like he carried himself well. What an attractive man.

He had a tall nose, and his lips were perfect.

What shocked her the most was the black mole at the edge of the man's eye.

His looks were flawless.

Everything about him was perfectly balanced.

To be honest, he was the most outstanding man that she had ever seen.

"Lucien Clifford?" Lynne plopped down on the couch opposite him. She sat up like a big shot, looking rather relaxed. "You're my fiance?"

She had requested Robbie to help her find an old man. It would be best if she could marry him as he's nearing death. How could he find her a young, handsome man?

It seemed that he was not older than her by more than a few years, so he should not have much experience in love.

Lucien gradually raised his eyes and looked at the lady in front of him. His eyes twitched for a split second.

"Lynne Willis?"

His deep voice sent a chill throughout her body, and she got goosebumps all over her skin.

Lynne raised an eyebrow, and a wicked smirk appeared on her face. "Yes, that's me."

The man frowned slightly. No one could tell what he was thinking.

After a long while, he threw a bail letter in front of her and said, "Sign this. Follow me."

After she signed the document, she got up, and pulled the hem of her prisoner's clothing backward. She tagged along behind Lucien and was about to leave.

However, Lucien turned around and sized her up. "Are you going to follow me around like this?" She was still in her prison uniform.

Lynne lowered her head to look at herself. "Is there a problem?"

Lucien's gaze paused for a moment. Without saying anything else, he turned around and left. When they reached the entrance of the prison, she saw a luxurious car parked by the side of the road.

Lucien headed straight for the car..

Lynne went along with him, her eyes opened wide in interest. "You've put in a lot of effort to humiliate those a*sholes for me, haven't you?"

As she spoke, she opened the front passenger door and stepped in. "Don't worry, I'll pay for the car rental. You don't have to fork out your own money for it."

Lucien's expression did not change. He opened the rear door, took out a luxury shopping bag, and threw it into her arms.

"I'll give you five minutes to get changed."

After that, he slammed the car door and went to wait under the tree next to car.

Lynne held the shopping bag and took out the clothes inside. It was an ordinary dress, but what was up with the pink lace lingerie that was hidden at the bottom?

She stuffed the clothes into the shopping bag in disgust and threw them into the back seat.

Five minutes later, Lucien opened the door of the driver's seat and saw her smiling at him.

She was still in the prisoner's uniform.

He frowned. Before he could speak, Lynne beamed widely. "I'm taking you to my father's remarriage ceremony. This uniform would only be appropriate for such a joyous event."

Joyous? Wasn't she afraid of angering her father?

Lucien did not give a damn about it. He huffed and muttered, "Do whatever you want." With that, he got into the car.

Once the engine revved and the prison slowly disappearing out of view, Lynne looked out of the window casually. "Let's go get our marriage certificate first. Once we have it, you'll officially be my husband, and you'll be able to meet your father-in-law without any qualms."

The man's gaze paused, and he glanced sideways at her. "Do you really want to marry me?"

"What's wrong? Going back on your word?" asked Lynne.

If it was someone found by Robbie, he should not be this hesitant.

Before her mother's death, she left a will wherein as long as she got married, she could inherit the company.

The reason why she was in a hurry to find a husband was that her father was going to marry Katy Clayton.

It would be fine if she were just an ordinary mistress.

However, Katy was not only pregnant but also bringing along a sister who was only three months younger than her into the family.

What infuriated her was that her new younger sister was actually her father's biological daughter.

That was to say, as early as 20 years ago, not long after her mother was pregnant with her, her father had cheated on her.

Her poor mother. She had worked so hard all her life to bring the company where it was now, but in the end, her father, Tyler Simpson, and Katy had stolen the fruits of her efforts.

As the only daughter to her mother, how could she just stand by and do nothing?

Originally, she was opposed to the idea of marriage, but now, for the sake of her mother and taking back the company, she had to find a man to obtain a marriage certificate.

She would go to Tyler and Katy's wedding to deliver the good news to them!

The traffic light was red in front of them. Lucien stepped on the brakes and turned to look at her seriously. "Marriage isn't child's play. Are you really willing to marry a man you've only just met?"

Lynne stared into his eyes, momentarily stunned.

His stare was serious and urgent.

Robbie Yardley... He had done well this time. He found her such a handsome temporary husband.

However, she had other reasons for getting married.

"When I'm done, I can still get divorced!" she thought to herself.

"Yes, of course, I do." Lynne gave a perfunctory nod of her head. "Oh right, have you brought your household register?"

Lucien retracted his gaze, took out his household register from the compartment, and threw it into her hands.

Lynne opened it and took a look.

Lucien's name was written as the head of the household. Other than that, there was no one else. She widened her eyes in shock. "Is there anyone else in your family other than you?"

Lucien paused for a moment before replying, "No."

"Oh." Lynne gave an indifferent response and did not say anything else.

Anyway, she got married to recapture the company. As for her husband's family situation, she could not care less about it.

The green light came on, and the car moved forward again.

Lucien seemed to have thought of something as he said, "Your things are all in the black bag in the back seat."

Contrary to her expectations, Lynne raised her brows.

When she was in prison, she had not taken any of her belongings with her. She did not intend to bring them back along with her, but she did not expect that Lucien would do it for her.

She did not have many things. All she had was just a black bag, a phone, and the clothes she wore when she was convicted.

Everything was not new, but it was not a big deal. The quality of her belongings was completely inconsistent with her identity as the top lady in the capital.

Lynne picked up her bag and took out her household register.

Looking at the name "Isla Willis" as the head of the household, the light in her cold, proud eyes dimmed for a moment.

She suppressed the sadness in her chest, put away the household register, and picked up her phone.

Lucien was very considerate and even charged up the phone for her.

She turned on his phone and casually scrolled through the major news websites.

"The evil woman, Lynne Willis, must be kicked out of the capital!"

"Lynne Willis, you're not human at all!"

"Lynne's the most cruel, merciless scumbag in history!"

Articles like this occupied the top of the trending lists.

She clicked on them and found that all of them were directed at her.

When she finished reading them, her face was expressionless, and her eyes turned impassive.

"She's cruel and merciless? She's vicious?"

She would be even more vicious than before!
