In the depth of the Pacific ocean, there was a country called Murphy where the most repulsive girl, Adriana Zale lived. Although Murphy is a very wealthy country, she remained in a small chamber behind her mermaid mother's little hut.
She had golden eyes and creamy skin just like her mother, Kristen Zale and black hair which was identical to her father, Morgan Zale, a vampire. This forbidden offspring formed a new species in the underwater world, a thalassan. Adriana Zale was the only thalassan that exist.
Mermaids deliberated Adriana as a disgusting creature ever and it caused her to spend her life in a locked chamber. Sometimes, Kristen used to spend some time with her. The life of this miserable girl turned upside down on the eleventh of June, two thousand twenty- seven, her fifteenth birthday. Her chamber was unlocked but there was a motive behind it.
Morwenna, a species that lived underwater but not in the Pacific. They lived in the ocean of the Atlantic. " Adriana?" a familiar voice called her name. When the door opened, she thought it was her mother because no one would open it except for Kristen. " Mom?" Adriana called in a suspicious voice, swimming towards the door.
" Come out!" She heard the voice again. Her face was flushed with bewilderment and perplexity.
"Come out?" her inner voice whined.
She stopped, taken aback. Two unknown mermaids entered her chamber, followed by Kristen.
As the green tail mermaid nodded wildly, the mermaid with the Mediterranean-blue tail told her, "We need your help. We are here to inform you about your task. You can be free after this if you do this for us!" they said.
Kristen Zale appeared to be overjoyed. Adriana shot them a blank stare with her gleaming golden eyes.
"We are offering you this because you can survive on land as well because you are a vampire too. So, we need you to kill a morlamian who is living on the land," the green tail mermaid said.
"Morlamian?" Adriana grumbled.
" She a hybrid too. Daughter of a vampire and a morwenna. We have to kill her because she is more powerful than the other sea creatures except for a thalassan, " Kristen explained to her.
Lit glowed in Adriana's heart. Finally, she was going to get freedom.
" I will, " she responded to the mermaids. " Sounds great! Thank you!" the mermaids exited the chamber as Adriana hugged her mother.
This was the best birthday present she had ever received. For the first time, she swam out from the chamber. Her attention was drawn to the brightly coloured fishes and corals and the Mermaids' huts which were made of pearls and flowers. Many gorgeous mermaids were there, playing and enjoying themselves with others.
" You are going to stay with your father after this on the land. Be careful. Humans are dangerous, " Kristen patted her on the back. Adriana nodded, settling herself to see the world.
The seawater was colder than she imagined it would be. Sunrays couldn't penetrate till the deep sea but the pearls and corals provided the lights to the sea creatures. Adriana realised that her silver-blue tail was sparkling.
"The world up there is different from the lifestyle we live here," added Kristen with a worrying voice.
" Don't worry, mom. I don't know about the mermaids' lifestyle either. All I know is to live in a locked chamber...alone, " Adriana sighed. She peered around the glorious ocean.
"When should I leave?" she questioned. " Tomorrow, " replied her mother.
"Are you a thalassan?" a sweet little girl arrived there with her buddies. "My mother said you can swim faster than any of the sea creatures. Is that true?" Adriana shook her head and joined them to play.
She could swim well because of the vampire gene which made her stronger and faster than others.
For the first time in her life, she swam freely. No blocks, restrictions or rules. Actually, She was not freed yet. She had to kill the morlamian to be permanently free. It was the most awaited time in her life.
As the ocean began to grow darker, all the mermaids returned to their huts. Adriana followed Kristen who was waiting for her in front of the hut's main door. They entered it together. It was a small hut but they felt very comfortable.
The colourful corals filled their hut." Take this!" Kristen handed her a pearl bracelet. " as a remembrance of me."
Adriana gazed at her mother doubtfully and wore the bracelet. " Take rest," Kristen said, closing her chamber door.
Adriana saw tears in Kristen's eyes but she didn't bother it because she was extremely pleased and excited at that moment.
Kristen knew about the land creatures. She loved a vampire. Although she didn't want to send her beloved daughter there, she had to do it. It was the only way to set Adriana free.
The first day in the ocean was incredible but the task she agreed to do was not an easy task though. She slept peacefully, unconcerned about the upcoming days, the problems she had to face or the land creatures.
