Introduction
Leila was one of the strongest vampire hunters before she died on a mission. She would never expect to reincarnate as the chosen bride of that vampire ancestor. She was taken and was forced to marry a dangerous guy even though he is as hot as hell. But marry a vampire? Not a good idea. Especially when there were already tons of vampires who always tried to possess her, craving for her beauty, her smell, and the power inside her.

|Prologue|

Leila, the youngest S-class vampire hunter in history, collapsed in a dark forest.

The wind blew through and the hood covering her face was blown away. The moonlight illuminated her shoulder-length blonde hair as she seemed to never be able to concentrate on what was happening. Her eyes growing wide and blood dripping from her mouth, she couldn't move. Her entire body stopped functioning.

At that moment, a shadowy figure with a bloody knife looked at her coldly while she gasps for air only to cough blood.

That exact night ended Leila Cross's life. Eyes that were already listless looked straight at the moon that had reached its highest peak, and at this moment the light was brighter than ever before.

From the same night, Leila Cross met her end, Iris, a beautiful yet weak vampire, shivered in her room. The vague and disgusting call of vampires comes from outside made her lose herself in the process.

These strong and evil vampires have been bullying her since she transformed into a vampire. She was so weak to fight them and could only do nothing except hiding herself from their raging eyes. But it seemed that they always have a chance to spot her as they would never give up on her due to her beauty and weakness.

For in this world, Vampire’s world, power decides everything.

This is her last attempt to flee from them. The tiny room that protected her for years could no longer protect her from her fate.

She wrapped her arms around her thin body, stick close to the door when she heard footsteps coming nearer and nearer to her room. She couldn’t help herself to feel despair as she let herself fall. As the clock moved its hands, a spell came out from her mouth.

She read the incantation carved into her soul.

By the time she closes her eyes, a prophecy appeared in the air. Words assemble as it states what the future holds.

"A night meant for the tangled souls

One will cease and the other will persist,

A connection that will determine their fates,

Seek for the truth no matter what it takes.

The special vampire in the prophecy has appeared.

Mystery and Deaths will be cleared.

The person who has her will get the strongest power,

As she is the betrothed of the most powerful of all vampires.”

|CHAPTER 01|

Leila Cross's POV

“Leila…,”

I move my head to look at my right when I hear a woman’s voice calling my name over and over. it’s as if she’s been calling me for a long time but wasn’t entertained on time.

“Leila…,” another call from the same woman I am hearing.

I glance at my right and left but to no avail. It’s as if I am wearing a blindfold and I couldn’t see anything but darkness.

I try to let out a few words to ask what does she need and why does she keep calling out my name but I can’t utter any words. It’s like there’s a lump in my throat that is unable for me to speak my mind.

The cold breeze runs in my skin as I feel the chilly vibes that are starting to creep in my system.

‘Who are you? What do you need from me?’

I want to ask but it only makes me look stupid when I couldn’t move any single muscle. I can’t talk nor walk. I am looking into endless darkness. My body is paralyzed but my mind is crazily active.

“Leila…,” my eyes move trying to find the source of the voice. I can slowly feel fear for myself.

Where am I? What is this place? Who is that woman?

Neither of the three questions, I’ve got no answers. I feel lost trying to keep myself sane from this moment. This is creeping me out.

The ambiance of the place makes me lose my breath. I feel suffocated. This endless darkness will kill me if I don’t do anything to escape this. Is there even an end to this darkness? I don’t know.

I clutch my chest and try to catch my breath when suddenly my heart skips a beat. I can feel my sweat slowly dripping down my face as I try to grip on something to find support for my weight.

Someone’s playing with me. That’s for sure. What’s happening to me?

“Leila!”

“Ha! Ha!” I blink my eyes when everything feels like I was pulled from nowhere.

I gulp and grip my shirt over my chest while catching my breath. I look like I run a million miles distance from here.

What was that?

I ask in my mind as I trace the place I am in with my eyes. A mini side table on my right. a glass window and a veranda after it. A door which I presume the bathroom. A single sofa in the middle and a door in the left which is the main door to be out of this room.

I pull the blanket covering me as I rose in the bed. I slowly walk my way in front of a large painting just right beside my bed.

My forehead crease in confusion when I see a portrait of a woman. She has black hair and a pair of green eyes. In contrast with my blonde hair and a pair of blue eyes.

“Who is she?” I ask myself as I stare at it. She’s beautiful I must say. Her brows are just perfect with her innocent looks and eyes. But despite how good-looking she is, it's too obvious that the owner of the body is weak. From her pale lips down to her petite body that in just a small flick of attack, she'll be flying in the air.

I tilt my head sideways when I think of something. Is she the woman who is calling me in my dreams? That was a freaking dream I’ve ever dreamed of before. The place was in the pitch black that I feel like my eyes are no longer functioning because it’s all that I can see.

“Iris,” I read the word engraved just below the painting. As soon as my eyes look down, I notice something which makes me lose my mind.

What the freaking hell!

I run towards the vanity table just right beside my side table and look at my reflection.

I can see a woman whose mouth is widely open as her eyes. Black hair, green eyes, pointed nose, perfect eyebrows, and rosy cheeks and lips.

Who is the woman looking straight at me?

I squint my eyes as those pieces of information knock in my head. Of all body around this world, why do I have to settle with this weak one?

This is not me! Oh, my Goddesses!

I blink my eyes as my knees wobble and a loud thud resonates in the room because of my fall. I cover my mouth using my palm as I keep blinking my eyes out of shock.

Unbelievable!

I haven’t yet grasped the whole situation when someone barges into my room. They are wearing a black cloak which covers their faces that’s why I don’t know what they look like as well as who are they to barge in this room without knocking on the door.

“You! Come with us!” A voice of a man enters my ears. I don’t know who among the two owns that voice but it made me took a step back. I look at my back and see the glass window opens and the cold breeze crawls I my skin just like what I dreamed of.

“Who are you?” I ask them even though I know that the situation is not good.

I am still confused but this needs to stop first.

When they didn’t answer me, I take a step back as I prepare myself to jump out of this room using the veranda in my back.

My eyes widen when I feel like I pass and run like a gust of wind. It’s too sudden and fast that I couldn’t able control my body with my fall.

I grunt in pain when I rolled down to the ground. I let out a deep breath as I touch my left elbow. It gets bruise and I wince in pain when I try to move it.

Several footsteps warn my ears. I alerted my senses and help myself get up from lying on the ground.

From the two strangers who barged in the room, they multiplied in numbers.

There are more than ten people who encircle me with their different weapons. Some are carrying a sword, daggers, a whip and some are barehanded.

What is this? An ambush?

I wince in pain as my back hits something hard.

I cough as I touch my back. Damn! That hurts! I lift my head to see what is happening. My brows furrow when I notice that I am surrounded. I hold back my surprise when red lights start to appear under their hoods.

It's just in time when I realize that it's their eyes. Their eyes are glowing red.

What the hell?!

I clutch my chest when I slowly feel the pain that's starting to resurface like I'm being stabbed in the heart multiple times even if I am not.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from groaning in pain. I am surrounded right now and they are not an ordinary human. What are they?

Slowly, my brain starts to wander until it hits me. Red glowing eyes, strong presence, and their strong attacks.

Vampires. I am being attacked by Vampires!

“Iris Brown, come with us or you will die in our hands?” The same voice I’ve heard earlier speaks and he’s right in front of me.

They are still wearing the hoods of their cloak hindering me from seeing their faces.

"Hmm, your blood. I want your blood!"

"Your blood smells so good!" I almost vomit with every they're mumbling under their breaths.

I'm still a woman and it disgusts me to hear those unacceptable words from them. Especially that they are strangers!

"It's been years to suck such special blood from a weak vampire like you!"

"Come, sweety, let me taste... you're blood," I clench my hands. I can't accept what they're saying!

I can sense their growing desire to catch and kill me. But why?

“Why would I?” After letting those words out of my mouth, one of them runs towards me with his sword in the air. I tilt my head as I take a step sideways causes him to trip by himself and face the ground face flat.

I couldn't control how fast I avoided his attack and that causes me to fall to the ground. What is this? Why do I feel weak? My moves, how my body reacts, why does it seems like I am not that strong anymore? I'm a skilled Vampire hunter!

Damn! This is a problem!

Two men approach me. They have swords and I smirk at them as I didn’t give them any chance to move at all. This body of Iris is so helpful for my case. In here, I’m also a vampire, and just a second, I hear a loud thud in my back as I can hear the blood dripping from the sword down to the ground.

I am glad but not that glad as this body is too weak to endure attacks and pains. I used too much force that's why I feel like I'm going to die soon.

Never did I imagined having this life. Waking up in a different body, and finding out that this body is a Vampire. That's too much to take.

As I am losing my patience, in just a snap, they are all now lying in the ground as they turn to ashes and the wind blows it in the air.

I am breathing heavily as I use the sword to support my weight. Catching my breath, I close my eyes.

I couldn’t find any clues about them. Even before they turned to ash, the mystery remains a mystery and I can tell that it’ll remain as it is.

I still don’t know what is happening and this happened.

Iris Brown, who are you?

After that, I feel like I lose all my strength and I can already feel my body falling to the ground. I can't stand up anymore. I feel weak. Pain is all over me.

"You never fail to amazed me, woman," a voice. I weakly tried to open my eyes to see who is it. His image is too blurry for me to recognize him but one thing is for sure, I'd love to see those deep blue pair of eyes. Again.

As soon as my body hits the ground, darkness swallows my consciousness pulling me into a deep slumber.
